I don't know about this. After a long period of loneliness, I've fallen for someone and had my heart completely shattered. I'd rather not feel that amount/kind of pain ever again. Even if that means more loneliness.
This puts a interesting perspective on The Doctor, he truly doesn’t have consequences of the things he leaves behind. He gets to pick and choose what he does and when he does it, but others are forced to stay. It isn’t the most moral thing for The Doctor to do, but he can’t continue his travels without doing it.
he did stay once, and at christmas.
Except if he doesn't travel there are so many horrors he can't stop.

This line broke me
knowing the doctor *has* tried it, again and again, only for it to never turn out well either for them or those around them... and that it didn't come from someone trying to be cruel but someone who was hurting so bad they thought there was no better way?
doctor who is so good at writing complex characters with endless facets to them and little quotes like this (along with the context to go with it) show that so well
This was so beautiful and I loved that you used all 13 doctors! The doctor's loneliness and need for companionship is what drives the show!

I tell people at work about loneliness and compassion, they all look at me like I'm nuts.... I bet when they get home and it gets dark, they begin to understand when they are with nobody but their own mind
I miss Peter Capaldi soo freaking much. He was the most heartbreaking one. He was soo lonely and he felt humble.
He tryed to help everyone..he accepted his fate at the end.
He is such a wonderfull actor.
I wanna be like him one day. Im actually really sick in rl and it capaldi makes me strong and smile everytime i see him.

He is the best actor to play the role, but Tennant will always be my Doctor. I wish Capaldi had worked under Russell T for a bit

Oh I know what you mean. He was so deep and lonely in his role as the Doctor. He will always be my Doctor. I understand your wish, to be like him someday. I wish he was my best friend tho. Hope you get better ;-)
@@michis_tube601 He really grew on me. The more I watched him the more I admired him.
I always try to see from the Doctors Point of View, yeah, people don't want him to leave them, but imagine how hard it is for him. They lost one person, he has lost thousands. He can't bring all of them with him, and he knows he has to make sacrifices, but he does it because it's the right thing to do. Missing all those people and still having the courage to say goodbye to more is not only Heartbreaking but also Admirable.
Being a mayfly has its ups and downs. Knowing how fleeting life is, everything has it's time, aside from the doctor, he lives on, alone. So lonely, so very very alone.

I miss Capaldi so much,now , in this moment, that someone I love has stopped to talk to me, I just can review the seasons which he played
The Doctor is surrounded in sadness, tries to do what's right, and still manages to mess up
The doctor always alone even when he has people they leave or die but in the end he is sad because of all the people he lost that he cared about 😩
How I feel for him when he has moments like these, remembering the little people but only feeling the pain of loneliness. I love your videos and how they give such insight to the Doctor. Can't wait for your next one. :)

But watching Susan left, and then Ian And Barbara, and more....
I have 2 more stories left of the First Doctor...
Then... he'll be gone too...
God I was sad to watch him go. One of my favorite Doctors, honestly, and with so many lovely companions. Ian, Barbara, Steven, and Vicki are some of my favorites.
Tbh though I found it even harder to watch Two go. I got so attached to him, and to Jamie as well. And I was so bitter that I hardly wanted to start Three's run, and yet I found myself adoring Three, the Brigadier, Jo, Sergeant Benton, and on and on through Four, Five, Six, Seven, and Eight (definitely get into Big Finish audios for Eight if you can!). What you quickly learn with Doctor Who is that the endings are painful, but stick it through because there's always fun new beginnings as well :')
I got excited when I got the notification and I always love your videos but it's even better when they feature both New and Classic Who (the latter of which gets way too little recognition in tributes like these). Amazing as always. Keep up the great work!

That's the problem with living so many lives you have to leave so many behind not because it's better but because it hurts to say goodbye.

Another fantastic video! How moving to see all the goodbyes and endings smooshed together like this. Even the companions and Doctors who I don't like as much take on a weight and pathos when presented in this way. I especially enjoy it when Classic and NuWho are edited together, it gives an unbroken emotional throughline to the Doctor's character that can't be illustrated properly when only focusing on one era. ❤

Being the Doctor is hardest thing to do when you keep dying over and over again and have to see all your friends and companions die, but the world needs the doctor, and he knows that, so thats the only thing that keeps him going.
