Olive drab us in fact a "real" color, mostly associated with the U.S. Army, which used it as their standard color for just about everything (uniforms, tanks, jeeps you name it) for decades. Looks great on the Casinos I think!

I bought the worn ebony version of this guitar and had a luthier carve a real bone nut for it and do a setup, fret polish and intonation ....all in all after having that done I have a bucketlist guitar that I love...can't put it down....the P 90s are amazingly versatile and unplugged this thing rings out....I almost want to buy a second one as a backup....found my comfort zone with the Casino!

Often simply called OD Green, is a nice matte green that blends well into foilage and frankly easy to maintain in WW2 era. Still popular in mil gear today, and surprisingly a classic colour option on guitars too.

Good advice. In my experience new guitars from the factory usually need a pro setup. Even those a that are bit more expensive and where the reviews say “set up and plays beautifully right out of the box”. A good setup, and other tweaks as you’ve mentioned, make such a big difference in the playability and enjoyment of a guitar.

If I were in on the identification of this finish, I would probably choose to call it "worn metallic grey" instead. That is simply my 2 cents. Olive drab is the finish applied to the Chris Cornell Gibson 335. This doesn't look like its equal.
I might still have the Casino in natural I bought 3 years ago, but it wasn't really for me. I like the P90s, but I sorely missed the center block. Not a fan of gratuitous squeal when I push both the gain and the EQ. Much happier with my current thinline w/ P90s, a Modern Player Thinline Deluxe Telecaster.
