They are not solely confined to the rivers and the coast they operate all over the world!

I work as a civilian contractor for the US Navy and have only just begun the process of enlisting in the Navy. I’ve known for quite a while that if I’m gonna serve I wanted to be a SWCC. They are swift, silent, but deadly. Yet boldly heroic.
If I may, read the book. The scene depicted in the book is way more realistically accurate than the movie scene. They had to tone it down for the movie because those rounds ripping through the vehicles and the human bodies (as the real things would) would have made it impossible to hold the rating the movie did, otherwise.
Sometimes I turn on Act Of Valor and fast forward to that scene. That's one of the best "The cavalry has arrived" scenes in ANY movie. I'll bet that scene alone boosted their applications to get in there.
With the amount of new tech that exist, as long as the tech isn't on the enemy side, they should be good. Traveling down the riverrines in the open like that is how to get missile launchered and/or mowed down by MG fire easy.
And then they said I was implying sometimes there is no other option to evacuate, meaning only by small water crafts. I also respect the Army, every Branch has a role and job to accomplish.

I would look into taking the ASVAB again.....go to your career counselor and find out what you have to do to make it happen. You could also call the SWCC detailer and tell them what your situation is, maybe they have some answers....but don't give up so quick. People who do that aren't the kind of people SWCC is looking for.

Got to work with SBT 20 and SBT 22 doing MEATS and dropping RHIBs. I know their official motto, but their real motto was "violence of action." I heard one of their coxswains say that about a dozen times. There's a reason the SOC-R doesn't have shock attenuating seats, but has two MK-19s.
It is a damn shame that these guys do not get any recognition. This doesn't even hold a candle to this pipeline. These guys are fucking nuts. They didn't even say anything about them in Act of Valor when they literally SAVED EVERYONE.

it’s the real life version of that extraction scene in “act of valor,” although while filming that scene, it was all live ammo and SWCC dudes trained them.
You gotta really have a good team because your operating in Dangers areas all the time your biggest threat is Ambushes especially in a highly Concealed area like a jungle one good RPG-2 Strike will knock you out of game set match.

At least by German definition, SWCC is a specialized unit (just like the Rangers) and any other SF-support element. But one thing is for sure: Without these units, no matter if it is the SWCC, the Rangers, supporting medical, technical, communication etc. elements, pilots, no SF-unit would be able to operate.

You have to be ready and willing to die but not going down without doing all you have available to you at the time. There is 100% no way to 100% live chance traveling down the riverrines in the open. You can only trust so much and hope nothing goes completely wrong.

@@ZBORICUA804 we were still called SWCC. The difference was, you had a job rating, and SWCC was an nec. (9533) Now it IS a job rating, and the training/selection process is far more difficult. C Watson, we existed in the 80's. Bm2 9533 SWCC, USN 1984-1991.
