Clean, white, grey with marble worktops and plenty of light
That kitchen lool fabulous for that amount of money. Just love it.

Such a gorgeous book - each shed is unique and inspiring, and I love all the tiny details Kotite features to help readers imagine how to create their own She Sheds ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxe9yi0sulKgsp0VJJCIrLWWkvVqcU7LFR . The feature on Dinah's Rustic Retreat is like something from a fairy tale. It's really inspiring to see how creative all these ordinary people are in making beautiful and useful spaces on a modest scale.
Anybody else freaking out when he hit that old metal farm sink with the sledge?! Dude! Save it and Sell it! Great job y'all! Kitchen looks AMAZING!!
Haha it made for good TV. We also gave it to a friend to restore.
Love how u guys include the prices of everything
Thanks! We try to be as transparent as possible, so ppl can make a decision on if they want to start a project or not.
I paid $70k to demolish old kitchen and built a new one in different room. Its unbelievable how you guys did it under $10k. Amazing!
I just want to say that antique sink was a BEAST. Wow that was huge. It has seen it's share of holiday dinners and clean up.
That’s for sure!
This is bad ass, love how short your videos are, it makes people want to watch them till the end. I love remodeling homes, I am just now starting to record myself
Thanks a lot Nathan we appreciate that 🙏 And go for it, we have a lot of fun making these videos but it’s also great having them to look back on.
That's what I found as well. Documenting your projects let's you look back on the before stages in more detail. So glad I decided to do the same🙏👌
I really like that the cabinets go all the way to the ceiling. And the white on white is in right now. Very clean and love the countertops! Can't believe you got so lucky with those floors too! Oh... I guess I loved all of it!
Thanks Kathy!!! Be sure to like and subscribe!!!
I agree love the tall cabinets
Yup tall cabinets like they installed in the 50s and 60s. Apparently making a comeback. More storage space, pick up a cute step stool and your good.
watching y'all pull up that AWFUL tile... and seeing how beautiful the hardwood floor ended up, makes me wonder why anyone at any point would cover those??? Seems absolutely insane. Great work!
Couldn’t agree with you more! Thanks a lot for checking us out and subscribe for more!
Yeah that's what I thought! Looks amazing
cant tel lyou how many houses ive cleaned tile off of and it was hardwood under it, angers me
It was the hot style of the time
@@d4ever649 its mad ugly
This kitchen is a bigger version of my kitchen when I first moved into my 1949 house. I did some changes about 15 years ago but now I am embarking on the biggest renovation I’ve ever done. I’m knocking down walls and everything!
I’m praying there’s wood underneath all my tile too! Fingers crossed.
🤞
Open concept is dead. Please stop destroying walls. People want walls back.
@@Accountdeactivated_1986 The walls in my house were actually taking away valuable space. I don't believe knocking down walls is always the solution, but it was for my space.
Awesome! This is the nicest kitchen! Clean, bright, comforting, amazing! Love a white bright kitchen! Concrete countertops look fantastic!👍
Thank you so much 🙏 We really appreciate that. Subscribe for more!
Ikea cabinets are very good and good for a budget, with some diy you can give the custom look, and double sink is always a great eye catch. One feature that always get my eyes on it is range fit in, without the rear part, or a cooktop. But the kitchen looks wow, really clean and crisp.
ikea cabinets have their downfalls. They have the metal bar at the top of base cabinets instead of a solid partition which doesn't support counters well.
@@Thetimberteam yes, that’s a problem with European type cabinets.
Absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for Introducing me to the concrete countertops total game changer thank you so much
😁
You guys did a great job! And that concrete countertop idea is gold. I love that idea. Thank you for sharing your project!
Thanks for checking us out!
I love concrete countertops! As long as they're sealed properly, they will last a very long time
A long time! The worktop will look the same in 100 years !
Agreed
How are they properly sealed?
@@glei22 glaze n seal is just one. There are others one can purchase
The video was straight to the point, I love the not-so-glamorous behind the scenes and I love the price transparency! The kitchen transformation was amazing!! You got yourself a new subscriber 💖 I wish I could see you guys transform a very outdated houses in Texas where they’re like stuck in 1994 😂
Thank you so much!!!
Is that your house? What stuff in that house that would make it considered outdated? Also 1994 wasn’t that long ago so I’m curious of what it looks like. Bright colors lost fashion a while before 1994. Make a video if you want to showing your 1994 kitchen.
Nice job on the renovations. I couldn't help but get nostalgic about the memories that kitchen had created since 1948. Here's to new memories for the next 60 years in a great looking room.
🙏
We've remodeled our last 2 houses but this last one was a full gut! So I appreciate everything you guys just did! I didn't know about this countertop system so we went with granite--which was hugely expensive to get the slab I wanted (white with small color variations--harder to find). I will def recommend this to my daughter who is getting ready to redo their new house :)
Thanks Nichole! We appreciate you checking us out! Don’t forget to like and subscribe 😁
great job!!!!!! one of the best remodels I've seen!!!! Classy and simple! I love that ya'll saved those beautiful floors!!!!!!
I couldn't help but chuckle at the buy Sh*tty homes get perks. I've owned three homes and getting ready for my 4th. The first was built in 1945, 2nd 2003 and third 1989. The one I'm looking at now was built in 1952. I have to say, while it's a gut job in some areas the older homes by far were built better. Keep up the good work. This kitchen is very much like the one I'm going into.
Thanks so much for checking us out! We agree totally about the old homes, gutting a 1919 house right now and it’s so much harder trying to demo anything compared to a newer house.
This kitchen remodel is not just about aesthetics; it's a story of preserving history while embracing modernity. It beautifully demonstrates how to breathe new life into an aging kitchen with limited resources.👍👍👌👌
Love the old kitchen sink!
Oh darn. I was hoping you guys would keep and reuse that vintage sink. I've been looking for an original one for my own remodel, and they are expensiveee to buy new 😩 I like the concrete counters though
Oh my goodness yes. When he started using the sledgehammer on that, I couldn't believe it!
I do like how seamless it is from counter to sink, but if only it were a bit deeper.
Maybe I missed it in the video, but I was wondering how long this whole process took??? Loved the white cabinets and that light fixture in the dining area!!! 🥰
Thank you so much for checking us out! We were renovating the house as a whole so the projects got completed at different times. But the demo took a weekend, the floors took a week. The cabinets a couple of weeks (had to wait on some pieces), a couple days for the countertops. So I hope that gives you an idea.
Beautiful! Great job! I would have added a built in seating in the nook area.
Agreed! If this was our forever home we definitely would’ve added that!
She *clearly* loosened up those floor tiles for you. Re: the cabinets, where did you get them (big box store, local maker, on-line supplier...)? And did you install all of them yourselves? The kitchen looks absolutely killer by the way!
Haha she definitely did! They were Koch Cabinets. It’s an American custom cabinet maker. They line we got was “express shaker” they are pretty good but not top of the line, perfect for nicer flips. A friend of ours owned the design company and waived the install fee so we got lucky there. And thank you so much 🙏!
@@WhatTheFlipShow how much do you think you saved? I'm getting into flipping and curious what it costs for installation of cabinets
What was the cost to change the electric wiring to new electric wiring?
The house was already semi updated when we got it. We added new electrical for the appliances (we had all the wire and breakers on hand)
Ah lucky! I rewired my entire renovation in the end. I was going to just do the kitchen but decided that I'd get stuck in and do the lot😅👌
Would you share wall color you used on this remodel please? Thanks!
Wow you guys did an amazing job ! I love how you guys broke down the prices and what you spent on everything ! Keep doing what you’re doing guys !
Okay but that old precast whole counter sink basin was a legimate BEAST. You are wayyyy stronger than you look for picking that up all by your lonesome.
💪💪💪
You guys did a phenomenal job !!! The new kitchen looks amazing and I can’t believe it was done for less than 10k 🤩
Thank you so much Maria! Stay tuned for more!!!
could do the same with 5k lmaooo
@@Brokebanger Really? Tell me more! :)
lmao for 10k i can remodel a bathroom a ensuite and a kithen, usa must be very expensive
@@tammyramey 10k is a lot of money for just a kitchen lmao, mine ws 3k
Nice! I like a classic, timeless look. This definitely could work.
Thanks for checking out our video!!!🙏
It turned out cool, an interesting idea to implement with their own hands!
Y’all should be on TV. I love this channel
Thank you so much that means a lot 🙏
Nice grout contrast for the subway tiles! I am planning on doing grey grout as well for my kitchenette :) The entire tile box was $15 👍🏼
The concrete countertops are a big selling point for me and you guys did a fantastic job! They’re dusty but totally worth it. Love it all especially the colors you used
Wow I love everything about this kitchen!! Gray and white is my favorite combo in a kitchen! You guys did an awesome job!! And all for less than 10k!!! Can’t wait to see more of your videos!!
Thank you so much Lisa!!!
Grey and white is the best combo! Actually the combo I'm doing on mine right now!
Will be doing renovations this summer and my kitchen is a big one. Completely have to gut it. We have appliances already, so that’s good. I have white cabinets and grey paint in my mind. Family thinks I’m crazy but o love that look. What color is on these walls? Do you think a white countertop with white subway tile would be too much white? Maybe a grey countertop? Loving the inspiration this video gave me.
Thanks so much for checking us out Rebecca! Be sure to subscribe for more. The paint color is “Moonshine” by Benjamin Moore. We love grey walls it’s our favorite color by far. White countertops would look amazing. If you are worried about too much white, you can break it up by using grey grout in the subway tile!
@@WhatTheFlipShow thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my comment.
Anytime!
Good luck with the renovation! Make sure to take plenty of pictures and videos!
Absolutely gorgeous kitchen. I like that it is clean and traditional and not something that will look dated in a few years.
Thank You!!!!!
I just bought a rental home that was built in 1963. The kitchen looks very similar. I plan to use your wonderful ideas. Thanks for sharing. It looks amazing! 👏
That was an awesome sink. I would have had it resurfaced.
They are pretty common around here but we did donate it to a friend who wanted to restore it! Thanks for checking out our video!
Yes, I nearly cried when they were banging around with that sledge! Try to buy one! OR try to buy a genuine vintage one like that.
@@toniasalwaysFlippers SUCK!!!!!!
Hope you tested the vinyl tiles-
Older homes I work in those old tiles more often than not are asbestos
Tested the tile and the glue and it came back negative
That SINK!!! Those are worth a LOT of money these days! Are you going to reuse it? Sell it?
We gave it to a nice family that wanted to restore it!
I have a sink just like that!
That was a fantastic cast iron sink assembly. Hope someone was able to use it and it and it didn't go to waste.
So nice to see a remodel without shiplap. Love everything about this kitchen!
We used some in the bathroom 😁 but we chose it out of necessity not style hehe.
Very nice job! Love the concrete countertop and that you were able to do it yourself. I hope to do the same in a few of months.
Do it!!! And thanks for checking out our video!
I love the concrete counter tops. Such a great idea.
They are definitely our favorite way to go!
That cool steel enamel sink had a lot of character, as did some of the original slab cabinets with copper hinges. Now it looks like every all-white overlay cabinet/subway tile kitchen you see in every flip house... which are already going out of style. At least they saved the floor.
It’s the editing for me I’m so impatient just give me the main deets THANK YOU for consolidating this information 😩🙏🏾
Ain’t no body got time for that 😅 Thanks for checking us out!
well, I really like this, we have a kitchen that looks and "feels" the same way as that kitchen looked in the beginning. love the results. concrete countertop is wonderful too!
In my opinion, the old one is still a very nice kitchen.
Great job guys, I would have stained the concrete countertop to look like marble, beautiful.
Thanks Ann!!! We love the look of the natural concrete but have definitely been thinking about staining the next one we do, either that or make it white concrete.
I saw in another kitchen video that concrete is very hard to remove and you have to destroy the cabinets to remove it. Is this the case the way that you put them in?
No this is one of the great features of this system. Removal is similar to granite as the countertops are only held in place by a small bead of caulk and the weight of the concrete. You would need a a lift, or several people, to lift up the countertops but no need to destroy the cabinets.
Hope you sold that cool old sink on FB Marketplace! People remodelling old farmhouses are looking for those!
We did! Unfortunately the cabinet base was rusted through but we gave the enamel top to a family that wanted to restore it.
I think smashing it with a sledge hammer would have answered that
What did you do with those solid wood cabinets?
I LOVED that sink! I would totally use that in my kitchen. Ahhhhhhh! Also, where the heck did you find those appliances for so cheap and which ones were they??
Thanks Christy! Make sure you subscribe for more (We have some giveaways coming up!) The appliances are Samsung. We bought a suite from Lowe’s on sale during one of the holidays. You can almost always catch a Deal around Labor Day or 4th of July!
THey were not smart. That sink would have pulled more buyers in.
Wouldn’t work with the countertop system Beth. How smart is it to spend more money for custom countertops and potentially alienate buyers to repurpose an enamel sink?
@@WhatTheFlipShow That old sink was horrific. My god.
@@Greg_Chase those sinks are popular now and actually are very functional. I’m going to get one because it keeps water off the cabinets. I’ve had cabinets damaged because water leaks down while I’m putting things in dishwasher or washing dishes and don’t notice it right away. Also, it makes hand washing dishes easier and washing veggies as well.
Excellent video. I showed it to my class. They are learning about repairs and renovations.
Thank you 🙏
You guys did a beautiful job. I’m more a fan of the double sink than the single…then again I never had a double sink. Sink envy I suppose. 😂
You guys sold me on the concrete countertops. My only question is how do you replace the sink?
If it ever needs to be replaced it would have to be cut out and replaced with a drop in. That’s the only downside to this method, but a stainless steel sink can usually last 30 years or so.
Absolutely beautiful and professional looking! Love the countertops...great video you guys.
Thank you so much!!!!
Nothing but respect for yall! That's a job very well done. What was the time frame on getting it done though?
That was an amazing redo also you guys are great and what you do you're a good team you work well together and I love that you tell us what you pay for everything that's so encouraging keep up the good work and keep those videos coming God bless you both
Thanks so much Susannah! That means a lot to here. And stay tuned for more!!!
Just bought a 100+ year old home that needs a total renno. Was a bit worried about having enough to fix it but this made me feel alot better. Good to see how much money some elbow grease can save ya! Thanks!
Dang y’all gonna make me do my kitchen over. I’ve been thinking about knocking down the wall between the kitchen and formal dining to make an eat-in kitchen.
Go for it! (But Make sure it’s not load bearing haha)
Open plan is the one
Yeah make sure it isnt a supporting wall! I took mine down without checking before hand!🙈
Y'all need learn how to count 1948 to 2021 is 73 years. I love your ambition and hard work, Great money saving ideas, Love your design.
You guys did a wonderful job on it, the kitchen looks terrific, but ooOOOhhh, that old sink!!! I was SO waiting for you to add it back! I would be in seventh heaven with a DOUBLE farmhouse sink with drying racks on each side! What a treasure!!! Did you keep it for a future flip??
It was beautiful! However it wouldn’t work with the countertop system we used. It was fairly rusted so we gave it to a friend who wanted to restore it!
@@WhatTheFlipShow Oh gotcha! Keep up the great work guys!!
Thanks for checking us out and stay tuned!!!😁
That original sink with that countertop would have been fire 🔥
🤣 I was crying laughing when he was making fun of the canning jars!
Gotta love them perks!
Were you guys worried about asbestos in the flooring? Asking because I want to do the same.
In these old homes we always test any material that could be hazardous before removing.
Great job...and funny too! Love the part about appliances being on sale anytime we are blowing sh*t up in the back yard for a holiday ! 🤣
🎇🧨🎆
Wow you guys did a great job.
I love the kitchen especially the concrete
bench just love that. I've always wanted
to know what it looks like and now I do
it looks great!
Clean, bright and generic. Other than perhaps the concrete counter tops it probably looks much like every other recently remodeled kitchen in the neighborhood. The kitchen shows well. It's certainly more welcoming, functional and yes, cleaner and brighter than before and I "like" it. But even at the low price point this remodel was done, some charm/personality might have been achieved. Cheap options might have been to keep the wainscoting/beadboard in the breakfast area and painted it, maybe retain and refinish that retro sink? But I suppose generic appeals to a broader group of potential buyers so this remodel makes better sense for the purpose of selling.
Your last sentence is spot on. We’d love to show off more design but it limits the amount of potential buyers you appeal to.
WOW! this kitchen looks AMAZING! Appreciate the prices you included, you have also convinced me to do concrete countertops, and I am not even kidding!
Just found you guys today.
Love the content.
I’m starting to flip on Orlando and will definitely use these tips.
🙏 Thank you and good luck!!!
very nice !! I want to do that kind of work I'm thinking about flipping houses you 2 did an Awesome job !
I just bought a house and would love to remodel the dark kitchen to something brigh. I loved the concrete countertop tip - it looks so clean. As a sole homeowner in their 20s I feel very much inspired to do my own DIY projects in the house after watching this!

This was a nice flip. How durable are the concrete countertops? Are they any do's and don'ts?
Thank you! Very durable. Do your research, make a practice piece. Make sure you have a drill/mixer that can handle mixing concrete. And make sure you have people there to help lift the buckets (sooo heavy)

LOL.
Those cabinets are not lasting 75 years!!
Why did you think that light fixture match the theme nicely? What is one thing it matched?
Awwww I can’t believe you guys destroyed that vintage kitchen sink...do you realize people pay good money for those😵
It was time for them to go
@raggedyann8762 yes indeed! I’ve been looking for one for a while now. Had one in our kitchen when I was growing up. They are expensive when they’re in good condition. People just don’t know the meaning of reuse, recycle these days!
I agree I loved that vintage sink
I’m willing to bet people will pay more for a kitchen remodel 🤷
Plus the fact, new sinks are crap anymore.
What did you do with the old vinyl floor after you took it out? You could easily reuse the pieces that were not heavily damaged.
Stove, fridge, microwave oven, dishwasher all for $1400? I went appliance shopping and these 4 appliances in a package would cost me over $5500. I'd love to know where you bought yours.
Lowe’s during 4th of July Sale! Everything is higher than normal right now but deals will come around.
My wife and I love this kitchen! Great job! Can you tell me what color grey you used? Can’t wait to watch more!

Is electrical, plumbing windows, moldings included? Did the ceiling need sheetrock, mud tape texture and paint?
Those floors are beautiful
Hard to believe people would choose to cover it with hideous linoleum.
This is great but it would have been nice to keep that original sink! I love them adds so much charm to a kitchen and they are so big
