I totally understand your point about the throttle limiter. Last year I started to get into the hobby after taking a break from it for a couple of years to focus on my studies, I bought the Notorious 6s and was just amazed by how much things had improved over just a few years. I threw away most of my batteries and had only a couple of 3s batteries so that throttle limiter really came in handy until I started to get into the hobby.🙃
Hi sir I live in 🇬🇧 can't wait to get mine. The end of the month. YOUR videos on this TRUCK have made me very happy I've made the Wright choice THANKYOU SIR 🇬🇧🇺🇲🕊️✌🏼🤩👍🏼
Awesome overview Jason!! I absolutely love the blue 🤩🤩 I agree on the radio. The 50/75/100 is an awesome feature when you let other people or kids run your RC’s 👍
@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs 🤣 Glad to hear it! I love the 3s line. Never tried the 4s line and I can't justify another new truck at the moment. I do wish that they would have designed a new center diff instead of the slipper clutch. Other than that seems like there are a ton of improvements 🤩🤩
It is a nice feature, but sometimes you need to scale down the battery power. I learned that the hard way when I let my 5 year old try out my Outcast 6s EXB. I set the throttle to 50% with a 6s LiPo and he still managed to get it to crash under a Nissan Versa! 🤣
@@robertb.4202 🤣 Yeah that can happen! I noticed that on my K8S it's still really powerful at 50% My 8 yr old almost took me out a few times! The DX5C works better for turning down the speed, but even that you end up with a point where the brakes won't work.
I am not sure on the 4s models (old or new), but the 3s models requires more than a 1/4 turn out, I tried that and was breaking 4s driveshafts (The stock type U joint ones). So I went to about 2 full turns out (Now sitting at between 1 7/8 to 1 3/4 turns now) and it finally solved the issue. I do plan to try and make those half shafts work on my Big Rock as well as the sway bars
@@zelph1844 Never saw it in the manual, all i ever got was the quick start guide no assembly manual. I had to find the setting myself, through experimentation. What i did was use the front driveshaft and use it with adapter in the rear of the slipper, then turn the screw till I got the gear to slip while gripping the driveshaft. Ended up being 2 turns out. though over time i've slightly tightened it up a little (Currently sitting at about 1 7/8 to 1 3/4) with no issues, but a lot of giddy up Edit: just checked Arrma's site no manual there tells this info at all, even the exploded view
There should be a “Technical Pack” included in the box. I’m pretty sure I got one with my V3 3S Big Rock. If I remember correctly, factory setting is 1.5 turns out for the 3S. For the V1 4S Kraton, it states, “Factory Default Setting: 1.25 Full turns loose from fully tight (450 degrees)” If you can’t pop a wheelie on demand, it’s probably too loose.
@@puddlejumpernva, never saw a technical pack, only the quick start guide. I'll check again, i got the bag somewhere round here. It was the wheelies that broke the driveshafts. Like I said my current slipper setting is about 1.75 to about 1 7/8 turns out, it doesn't wheelie, but the front will bob up a little on occasion, especially in the grass and I'm plenty happy with that. Rather change slipper pads from time to time as opposed to breaking driveshafts every time I sneeze on the trigger. Yes it was that easy with either 3s or 4s driveshafts on a tight slipper
@@crazylarryjr Yeah, that's sounds very reasonable. I upgraded my V3 Big Rock's rear diff to Arrma metal and other than getting sloppy over time, I still have my original driveshafts. I look forward to adding one of these 4S trucks this summer!
Had a senton man opening up and cleaning the spur area drove me nuts was supposed to be easy not so much surprise they didn't make a hole the bottom of the chassis hmmm
Did I miss a video were you was going to tell us what happened to your max 8 G2 ? I ended up picking one up myself anyway and man do I really like it. I never seen nothing that stays as cool as this stuff does but I hope they sent you a new one ?
I've been contemplating a V2 Maxx. I was waiting to see these V2 4S Arrma's. Damn slipper clutch. It will probably push me to the Maxx, which sucks, because a hate Traxxas as a company. Hopefully they won't sue me over this comment.
Awesome! Really like that truck but been curious about not be able to put the throttle down to 50% when my 5year als son drive but now I really firing to get one 😇
Great review Jason! New subscriber here, I appreciate your content. Do you have any theories as to what the source of the high-pitch squeal is on these models? Some of the review videos I've watched, it is more noticeable than others. Same for composite and metal spur/diff gears, 3S and 4S. Do you think it's coming from the slipper?
I've been wanting one these I'm away to get the senton just for starting back in the hobby but now having a 4s of the outcast and near the same size as the 6s it's gonna be a popular beast I think! As long as its not as bad are the infraction mega!
I can’t believe they kept that stupid slipper in there! Those slipper hubs a pure glass! I would have pre ordered both these new models if it weren’t for the slipper crap.
I ordered both V1s the week they dropped. Slipper issues, dirt in module, ate up motor bearings. Arrma is well aware of these issues, you would think they would have included a slot in bottom on chassis to let dirt out of a poorly designed power module. Don't know if I will buy a V2.

Thanks for the reveiw Jason. I cannot wait to order mines.
Excellent overview! Looks like another good new release, all I can say is it's a great time to be in the hobby.
It's good when companies listen!

Dude I am so impressed with the truck. It’s my first 4s Arrma, and now I feel like I’ve been bitten by the bug. 🤣

It's crazy that this 4s kit is only $10 more than the Notious 6S v5 RTR kit right now. It's on sale for $480.
Not in Australia 🇦🇺 it’s not….
Thank you for explaining the sr315 can but set up with dx5 pro (which is what I have) at the same time can use the slt3
Great overview. Can't wait to see how durable it is. 👍👍

Agree, the slipper needs to be about 2 full turns out, (the manual states this too). Only 1/4 turn out is asking for trouble.

Arrma all the way man!
can we use the 4s wing on the 6s outcast exb?

A 4s Senton would be sweet.
Im kinda on edge if i wante this or not
You do. :) I was very surprised and impressed with this truck.
Please compare to maxx v2
Coming :)
I should’ve bought this instead of the hoss
It's funny you say that. Crazy that they are the same price. So much more truck here.

Man just so sad it has a damn slipper.
