I bought a Switch a couple months after covid hit and it's been a consistent source of joy for me throughout this challenging year. I love it for the smaller indie titles (Into the Breach is now amongst my favorite games of all time), the arcade games that just "feel at home" on this console more than any other, and the portability of the system (playing lazily on the couch has never felt so good). It's a charming system with a lot of heart and a great fan base, and I'm happy to recommend it to gamer-adjacent people who are considering adding some digital good times to the otherwise endless monotony of quarantine.

Kervis Boston It took me two years to finish Mario odyssey, Zelda botw, Pokemon lets go. Still playing smash, and still haven’t finished Pokémon sword. I know there are a lot of indie games but the first party games take a long time to beat I’ve spent at least 80 hrs on each
I haven’t purchased a console since 2013, and I haven’t purchased a Nintendo console since the Wii around when it launched. I’ve been watching the Switch grow and develop since it launched, and the announcement of the Switch Lite convinced me to pull the trigger and finally jump into the vast library of games. My expectations were blown away. I’ve never enjoyed a console this much, and still cannot get over how this little $199 handheld can play AAA titles like BoTW and Wolfenstein. It honestly feels like an entire gaming PC in my pocket, which would’ve been unbelievable to me as a kid playing on my atomic purple GameBoy Color. So, yes, I’m having more fun than ever and the Switch or Switch Lite is more than worth it in 2020 and beyond.

"If a game is good, its good." I agree wholeheartedly. I find myself reaching for games that don't even have AAA graphics - right now Hollow Knight and Pokemon are consuming all my time because they're FUN. I love that the Switch has a nice library of its own titles, and is also becoming a neat platform for "Complete" edition remakes and remasters. I played Iconoclasts on my Vita, but picking it up on the Switch really brought the game to life for me - being able to play it on the big screen and really appreciate the lovingly detailed graphics was just superb. Nintendo really knocked it out of the park this gen.
I love these videos even though I already know the answer. Imo, a system with great games, no matter how old, is worth it. And oh boy, does the Switch have some pretty damn good games.
if you already own a ps4, xbox one and/or gaming PC the switch lite is literally the best companion to that. it's actually ridiculous the good deal that console is.
I picked up a switch earlier this month for my birthday. My new job comes with a 1 hr. 45 min. bus ride. I pulled the trigger because of this. Before this my ps4 was my go to system and I am happy with it so far.
7:15 "I just like having the option of having all of my games with me, but I rarely ever pull my switch out of the bag and actually play it. It's kind of just nice knowing it's all there" So clearly articulate why I so fascinated about buying (collecting) games recently and rarely just sitting there all day and playing them. XD
I was out of the Gaming world for a good 6-7 years. I bought an Xbox one on day one and I just kinda stopped playing it after a while. Maybe I got busier or dis-interested, I can't really say why I stopped but I did. When I saw the new switch in December and the new Luigi's Mansion game I bought one immediately. I LOVE IT!!! I feel like I did when I had my n64 back in the day. The games are so rich, vibrant, most importantly fun to play. I have gotten back into 2d platforms and other games I have not played in years. Nintendo has absolutely hit a grand slam with this console and I am so excited for what is to come! Who the heck is stillon the fence about these??!! How much more success do you need to convince yourself?
i bought the switch last june so i was a late bloomer but it has still become my fave console. it’s so worth it and i love it to death so i def recommend buying one
Your sets are looking really good! I like how they are not the same in every shot. It is a nice change! Also, that set that looks like the outside looked incredible! I had no idea you actually went outside!
Discovering your channel the year before last really helped me decide whether or not I wanted the Switch, I went from not caring about it to being completely obsessed with getting one lol, now I have a Switch Lite as well and I love it
Lemme answer for ya: yes. Yes. YES. Absolutely. Definetly. For sure. mm-hmm. Yup. and so on... It's not a question, it's a statement. the Switch IS worth it.
i bought mine 2 months ago and im absolutely in love with the switch. i own several consoles and a good gaming pc but i just cant turn away from my switch lately. its just a chill nice experience
GB games would be great since my 3DS has them. Then GBA. Eventually N64 when Nintendo sees a slow down in sales. Switch Pro with 1080p screen will definitely happen, launch window unknown.
I stopped my best friend from getting a switch light, not that it’s not a great system, it’s just that he hasn’t been gaming much over the past few years, using his xbox for Hulu and Netflix, so he had no idea the lite was portable only till I told him, he just thought it was a little smaller and could be docked now I’m just waiting to get him botw
I wish they'd have better game sales, Nintendo hardly ever drops prices on their games, so I end up buying everything on PC/PS4 unless it's a Switch exclusive.
You can buy a lot of cheap games on the eshop, even AAA like xenoblade. Just avoid physical games, specially from Nintendo, as much as you can. I have alot of exclusives, like octopath traveler and Mario + rabbits. And games like stardew valley are at the same price than steam.
During the January sales there were a lot of good games for less than 10€. I generally only buy physical, but if you have a decent SD card just buy digital, it's way cheaper on nintendo
Been gaming since the 80s and 90s but stopped for awhile, the switch brought me back!! I've had it for almost 3yrs (og version) and I'm just blown away with the amount of quality games. I bought my son one for Christmas and he's extremely happy with his. My gf even bought one and now have a blast gaming together. Worth it? Hell yeah! I might have to start playing my switch less because it's keeping me up late at night! 😂
Being able to take my Megaman games on the go was already worth the price for me Plus all the AAA titles and 3rd party titles it’s just so nice taking this on my 2 hour commute to and from work. Makes the train ride not seem long at all
I was on the fence about a switch for a long time but i bought a gen 2 switch on sunday because your videos convinced me. Im really happy with it. It brings me back to the days of play my GBA SP late at night in my bed trying not to get caught by my parents. Love the vidoes man and thanks for helping me make an informed decision. ❤
I just got mine 2 months ago and I love it so much! I'm like 10%into BOTW and just got Mario odyssey yesterday and have to finish my sword run... God damn i need more time during the day ^^
I go physical whenever I can, because I like to collect , and also it just feels more secure in that I'll always own the title I paid for, even if support for it drops years from now. I'm the same way with books; I don't hang on to a lot of stuff, as I hate clutter, but when I do it's for books and games. I do have several digital copies in smaller indie games/games that didn't get physical releases, however.
I actually just picked up a switch from a good friend of mines with 3 controllers and 4 games included (smash, mario kart, pokemon shield and zelda botw) for $300. Best damn purchase ive made in a long time and honestly surprised me on how good it really is to have the option of docking whenever. I was worried abit that i probably took to long to finally try out the switch, and was even considering the switch lite due to the portability. But losing docked, the bigger/better screen, and the option of multiplayer with ease on the go with the joy cons, made more sense for me to just opt for a regular switch. Coming from someone who owned pretty much ever nintendo console besides the wii u, the switch just makes my day. Its real fun and once again just having the option of playing on the go, or even in bed lol, is just great to have and really makes the console stand out.
I feel the switch could just be entering its prime it’s only nearing its midlife cycle the console could last 4 years or more before the successor if you take into account the ps4 and Xbox one both lasted 7 years
I really love my Switch Lite. If your watching this video and your still on the fence about a Switch/Lite your should really try it out. I was on the fence aswell and bought a Switch Lite on launch day and I have been beyond happy with my purchase. I adore this console and it is defiantly my favourite handheld I have ever used.
I am surprised you didn’t get the V2 of the switch. I recently swapped my launch for a new v2 and the battery life is insane. I guess if you play in dock mode mainly it does not seem like it is needed.
@@darkspeedsterz what? No, that doesn't make any sense, what i'm saying is that sword and shield are not as enjoyable as other pokemon games to people who never played a pokemon game, I would say the game is too slow and would make you bored very quickly. That has nothing to do with other switch games which are incredibly fun like zelda bowt and smash bros(this one i would consider buying it if you have friends to play with you, not soo fun otherwise)
Just got one. Idk how, I just kept refreshing Best Buy until one was in stock 40 mins away from me. Went to go pick it up and haven’t put it down since. I’m 26 years old. I haven’t played Zelda since Majoras Mask or Mario since Super Mario 64 and do I say man this console just blows me away and makes me feel like a kid again. I got BOTW, Odyssey, and gonna get Smash. Literally the new versions of my 3 favorite games as a kid.
The switch is great I didnt play it that much in the start of 2019 because no games but once the games roll in I started playing it again. The games on the switch are great Botw Mario odyssey Smash there all great. Buy one if you have a ps4 or pc or if you just want a console with good first party games then buy a switch enough said
I keep watching videos like these because I'm mainly a PC player who hasn't owned a console in years and I feel like this could be the one for me. I have online friends for my PC gaming but I like the possibility of inviting friends for couch co-op now that I live alone. Also I miss Animal Crossing.
i wont try to change your mind but i have been enjoying Last of Us, Shadow of the Colossus, spiderman, nier automata, horizon zero dawn and vanquish to name only a few. Enjoy what you have and rest easy in the knowledge that whichever platform you have there are fantastic titles available for it.
Also there is huge homebrew scene. One big problem with many third-party devs, thay they are throw half-assed ports and instantly drop support for them...
OMG! Nintendo FIX YOUR SERVERS. Soooo tired of playing Splatoon 2 online with connections failing, taking forever to setup a match or teams missing a player. Really considering moving back to my PS4 for most gaming.

I wish I could find a Switch in the wild but they are sold out everywhere. In the meantime I'll keep watching your videos
Not the lite ,ita good top
"If a game is good, its good."
I agree wholeheartedly.
With a gaming PC who would want a PS4 or Xbox One? 😂
@@mep6302
ps4: exclusives
xbox one: backwards compatibility/gamepass
"Just get one already."
I wish I could T_T
I picked up a switch earlier this month for my birthday. My new job comes with a 1 hr. 45 min. bus ride. I pulled the trigger because of this. Before this my ps4 was my go to system and I am happy with it so far.
7:15 "I just like having the option of having all of my games with me, but I rarely ever pull my switch out of the bag and actually play it. It's kind of just nice knowing it's all there" So clearly articulate why I so fascinated about buying (collecting) games recently and rarely just sitting there all day and playing them. XD

The Xenoblade remaster is coming this year
Zake Sure 👍 My man. 👌
Short answer: AC
Long answer: ANIMAL CROSSING!!!
"Or hell, even at work if you can get away with it."
Stop attacking me!
0:33 idk if it's my screen but the yellow one looks orange and it looks so nice
I will say this, I bought my switch 4 months ago. It’s more then worth it.
*than. Learn to write!
@@mep6302 its the internet dumbass
i bought the switch last june so i was a late bloomer but it has still become my fave console. it’s so worth it and i love it to death so i def recommend buying one
I just wanted to say that I lost my switch for 2 years and I just found it
Your sets are looking really good! I like how they are not the same in every shot. It is a nice change! Also, that set that looks like the outside looked incredible! I had no idea you actually went outside!
Short answer: yes
Long answer: of course!
Discovering your channel the year before last really helped me decide whether or not I wanted the Switch, I went from not caring about it to being completely obsessed with getting one lol, now I have a Switch Lite as well and I love it
Lemme answer for ya:
yes. Yes. YES. Absolutely. Definetly. For sure. mm-hmm. Yup. and so on...
I just got my switch about 3 months ago... Thanks for solidifying my purchase more!
Very much so. Even though I don't get time when I do I can sit on sofa and still play. Game list is huge
I stopped my best friend from getting a switch light, not that it’s not a great system, it’s just that he hasn’t been gaming much over the past few years, using his xbox for Hulu and Netflix, so he had no idea the lite was portable only till I told him, he just thought it was a little smaller and could be docked now I’m just waiting to get him botw
honestly, it would be hilarious if the switch went from being worth it for two years then stopped at three.
Yes, and I love how indie games come to the switch as well as kick starter games!!
I just bought one today I had no idea a switch was so expensive to play lol
I wish they'd have better game sales, Nintendo hardly ever drops prices on their games, so I end up buying everything on PC/PS4 unless it's a Switch exclusive.
Im about to get one today too☠️
You can buy a lot of cheap games on the eshop, even AAA like xenoblade. Just avoid physical games, specially from Nintendo, as much as you can. I have alot of exclusives, like octopath traveler and Mario + rabbits. And games like stardew valley are at the same price than steam.
lol i just bought one also i couldn’t help myself and i’m not looking back
During the January sales there were a lot of good games for less than 10€. I generally only buy physical, but if you have a decent SD card just buy digital, it's way cheaper on nintendo
Just got a Switch 2 or 3 weeks ago. I'm a PC gamer so it's my first gaming console and it's fantastic. botw and pokemon are so much fun.
I’ve had the switch since September and I haven’t played any first party games
Get pokemon its really fun or smash or fire emblem three houses
Why the fuck you bought it then?
just got a switch. thank you for the detailed video. don’t like much videos but i will be liking this. have a good one
13:19
OK you’ve concinced me.
Though if the pro drops the next day, I’ll send angry emails to you.
Bob owns Panty Party 👀
I just revieved a Oled Switch for Christmas 2021. I'm starting to play it more than my PC.
dude just cut 15 minutes and 49 seconds off the video
*1 second:* yes
Been watching you for years and never pulled the trigger on satisfye grip until this video!
Just bought it and used the code thanks bro
11:50 dont forget pokemon mystery dungon
Being able to take my Megaman games on the go was already worth the price for me
Plus all the AAA titles and 3rd party titles it’s just so nice taking this on my 2 hour commute to and from work. Makes the train ride not seem long at all
I can't wait for my Animal Crossing edition switch :)
Did not get a switch or the game :(
@@codyt8541 why? :(
I was on the fence about a switch for a long time but i bought a gen 2 switch on sunday because your videos convinced me. Im really happy with it. It brings me back to the days of play my GBA SP late at night in my bed trying not to get caught by my parents. Love the vidoes man and thanks for helping me make an informed decision. ❤
Lest be honest everyone who clicked on this knew the answer... which is yes
I just got mine 2 months ago and I love it so much! I'm like 10%into BOTW and just got Mario odyssey yesterday and have to finish my sword run... God damn i need more time during the day ^^
That's what you get for going all digital lmao.
A smart man goes physical, a smarter man goes mix.
Who’s watching this but already has a Switch? 🙋🏻♂️
Matt B Nope but I would want one to play Smash.
Right here.
I bought one from a friend last month. Made sure buy me a copy of Breath of the Wild and Fire Emblem Three Houses.
@@philippecoppieters4742 Same
Bro your videos made me decision to get a Switch. And I don't regret it. I take this thing everywhere.
Absolutely yes.
I am surprised you didn’t get the V2 of the switch. I recently swapped my launch for a new v2 and the battery life is insane. I guess if you play in dock mode mainly it does not seem like it is needed.
"pokemon sword is one of the best switch games"
I mean..... reaaaally?
It is if you like pokemon, if you don't probably not. It gets kinda boring in some parts
Jordi Lacerda it’s one of my favorites
@@martinbaraldilobe3334 so... if I like pokemon but don't like pokemon sword and shield then Nintendo switch games ain't that good?
Dark Lyght what a logical leap for the sake of being adversarial.
Switch has been collecting dust while I wait for animal crossing, so hyped
bro 300 hours in smash 90 hours in pokemon get good casual
JeremySheer haha
Jam M actually using the time to attack my backlog. It’s been great. Playing Trials of Mana while waiting for the remake coming soon.
YES! I bought one yesterday at Best buy just for playing to SNES and NES games
Nintendo Switch is the best platform for single-player experience, change my mind
I cant, its exellent
Sony has some good ones I mainly use my PS4 when I play with friends but when I'm not I almost exclusively play my switch
@S. Milan The bad doesn't make the good better
i wont try to change your mind but i have been enjoying Last of Us, Shadow of the Colossus, spiderman, nier automata, horizon zero dawn and vanquish to name only a few. Enjoy what you have and rest easy in the knowledge that whichever platform you have there are fantastic titles available for it.
@@ThatGamingGuyfromthe70s Exclusive titles will always be a selling point for any platform.
Also there is huge homebrew scene.
One big problem with many third-party devs, thay they are throw half-assed ports and instantly drop support for them...
“Pokémon Sword deserves to be up there as one of the best Switch games.”
PFFFTAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Dragon quest could easily wipe it out
Nintendo could easily make the ultimate pokemon experience ... the switch is by far the most powerful handheld ever made by a long shot,
The main N64 game I want them to bring to nintendo switch is Super Mario 64 because that game was my entire childhood
OMG! Nintendo FIX YOUR SERVERS. Soooo tired of playing Splatoon 2 online with connections failing, taking forever to setup a match or teams missing a player. Really considering moving back to my PS4 for most gaming.
What are you waiting for?
