Hi Chris, I would do this with the Mobile Station 2 using the M84 and make some electrical automation. You can use the input to shift the turnout and stop the locomotive on a passing loop. Use circuit track to trigger this (don't know if it works with contact track). I intend to make some videos on electrical automation in the near future. The new upgrade version 3.55 allows you just click to another page of the functions so you don´t need to push the button "shift" down all the times. You can push on the button "return" if you want to use function before too. I use DCC protocol in both locomotive and keyboard because it works better by control CV adress. With mfx protocol it is difficult by change value in the locomotives decoder. Attention!!! Only one locomotive stand alone on the track when you change the value of the locomotive decoder.
Hi Anders, Thanks for the tips! This is an older video and it has indeed been made easier to get to the full set of functions in the later update. It was a little cumbersome! For experienced users it can indeed be easier to use DCC when fiddling with the CVs. However, most users would not need to do modifications beyond the ones easily available in the menus (max speed, dec, acc, ...) - which is instantly changed with little effort. I just got a new MS2 but my mfx locomotives wont connect Like they did on the older MS1. I’ve tried everything but it still won’t connect and I even tried to connect it manually with the address, but it still doesn’t work. Is there any way to fix this?
Hi, sorry for the late reply. I suggest to try to find the locomotive using the MS2. Connect the MS2 to a small test track with only the locomotive you are having trouble connecting to (not other locomotives on the same track). Turn on the MS2, find an empty spot in the locomotive list and use SHIFT+Locomotive, then select "Find". This will normally also reset mfx locomotives. Let me know if it helps! Enjoy ;-) Bo
Hi! I am new on the Marklin Circuit as I got the train we had when we were young 60 years ago!! 110Volts, M tracks the locomotives are running on 6.5 to 13 volts on a 110 volts central. I completed a track with C traks do you think I will have to change many thing if I use a MS2 ? is it easy to upgrade the loco from analogic to digital? thanks for your answer
Hi Pascal, Unfortunately, I do not have much experience with the analogue to digital upgrade. As I understand it you can use digital with M-track, but have to remember to remove a filter that many m-tracks have from the power supply. You can start by digitizing the track and keeping the accessories analogue. Ask around on the Märklin forums - many people have tried this and can offer better advice than me. Analogue locomotives do not work with digital power. The size of the power supply depends on the amount of trains and other devices that draw power from the layout - to some extent the size of the layout is independent. However, you will need feeder wires from the MS2/CS3 to multiple spots on the layout to ensure reliable power across your layout. Depending on your layout you may need 2-4 points feeder wires. Hey so I just got this MS2, because I purchased two engines that are digital. I got a 3689 motor post and a 26830 BR52 with snow plow. Both of these have the decoders with the dip switches. I cannot get the MS2 to work with these, the 36830 runs at top speed when stop mode is turned off with no control over throttle or other functions, and the 3689 doesn't do anything but give a little blip in power when stop mode is off. If I select 'find' it doesn't find a Loco, and entering manually I'm not sure of address. I am searching through the database and selecting the locos. I am very new to the digital world of marklin and any insight would be appreciated
The Märklin 3689 is a very old train from 1989 with one of the first Märklin decoders - as far as I can see the 6080. Do you have the manual for this one? It has a DIP switch on the decoder to set the address. You can set an address from 1-80. Märklin standard is address 3. However, as this is an older model it has likely been changed. Check the manual - it should have an address table, then you can compare with the DIP switch. Then add the locomotive in the MS2 as "MM2 Coding Switches" - see the video at 05:34.
The Märklin 26830 has two decoders: one for the snowplow and one for the locomotive. Some help can be found here with link to additional sites: www.marklin-users.net/forum/posts/t26459-Marklin-26830--digital-function-and-manual-book It seems that when you select 26830 from the database it is address 68 which is the snowplow. Also for this one check the address table in the manual and compare to the DIP switch if in doubt. Try to create a manual locomotive to see if this changes. To me it seems like the snowplow is address 68 and the locomotive is 69. Try the snowplow first as it does not move. You should be able to use F0, F1 and F2 to see light and turning of the snowplow. For the locomotive: When a locomotive speeds along on the track when using Märklin Digital (MS2), then it usually means that the decoder thinks it's analogue. Check the manual and see if there is a way to turn on/off analogue mode. Unfortunately, I cannot find the manual online for this one. Hope this helps. Enjoy ;-)

@@ModelTrainFun Thanks for answering, I found the problem: the Markling system is not suitable for my train because the train runs on direct current and the tracks on alternating current, and the tracks do not work either because my train draws current through the wheels and does not have any central skate.
I have a Marklin Mikado when it is placed on the rail why is it not detected when I find it in the controller.. I entered the number in the manual with address 40 it doesn't read too.

Hi Stefan, This is the 4th time with the same comment? Let me provide the same answer as before: This is H0 scale. I believe the measurements is accurate - Märklin do produce in exact scale for all but the longest models. You can adjust the speed, acceleration and breaking as you see fit. If you are into very accurate prototype look'n'feel, scenery and sound you can also do that if you like. Some models are more accurate that others and other track is available that might be more realistic for you. It's all a question of what you find fun and what you enjoy. I am more into just running the trains. I will never have room for prototypical scenery, accurate distance between stations and so on. If you have the room you can make things as much to scale as you like. All depends on what you enjoy. Hope you have fun with trains. Enjoy ;-)
