This is great, I’ve seen plenty of videos for how to play this but they are all just strumming chords, which is fine, but this really nails the feel of the song.

I just love this! Great song (of course), really nice solo acoustic arrangement and the chord voicings are spot on. So much fun to play. Thanks very much for this fabulous lesson!
Thanks! It’s one of the surprising perks for me of this channel, being able to show old, obscure, or half forgotten gems to people. Lots more to come! 😀
Brilliant, brilliant song from an absolute genius (he does a lot more than clever pop punk tunes, I rank him up there with Prince as far as a killer musical ideas man goes) Graham Maby on bass was the lead instrument in his band. The guitarist was only ever there for embellishments. Great lesson btw!
Thanks for that. Totally agree about the bass being the feature instrument here. I started playing the chords like a guitarist (even tried the original barre chords) but it didn’t sound anywhere near as good as when I focussed on the bass part.
Thanks for that, Larry. I think either chord works. The sus 9 chord was what I landed on after watching some live videos of the band. The guitarist's hand looks closer to the sus9 shape than a sus4. But I appreciate the input! Love to know people are watching that closely, thanks.
@@OneChartguitarlessons Crap. no; he was the drummer. The guitarist was Gary Sanford - sorry for the misinfo. (And of course, Graham Maby on bass.) And killer lesson!
dig this guy he s always on the money. cool guitarist.
Aw, thanks so much, David!

Thanks so much! I just played it tonight for the first time at a gig and it was super fun to play!

Thanks very much for that. I don't know why I haven't learnt this song sooner.

You’re welcome!
Your lesson is excellent! Thanks for sharing this. It's a great song and you've explained it really clearly
Thanks Colin! Love to hear that.
love it. Agree great song
Corrected for the capo, I hear (and play) Esus4 and F#sus4 in the chorus, not the 9th(sus) you play. But another great job, thank you.
