Out-freakin-standing! Love Joe Jackson and saw him perform this great song from the second row, Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia Maryland, in 1982. I’ve played the bass guitar part of this for years but never tried to play it on guitar. Thank you so much for a really great lesson! Buddy
Sir you are a wonderful teacher, you are the only person that can make me learn a song like that just by you playing it, usually I have to have tab and be shown every note but you have have a wonderful talent for showing someone how to play something. Thank you for being you!
Thanks Jason, I’d been playing this wrong for 30 odd years. I must admit I found this surprisingly difficult but after beasting it last night I’ve finally got it under my fingers.
Great lesson. It's been a long, long time (another lifetime it seems) but when I saw the JJ Band live, guitarist Gary Sanford would often slap the D and G harmonics at the 12th fret where you play the Eb. I think this is on the record also. In any case your version brings it all together quite nicely.
Great lesson. Really enjoyed it-now all I have to do is transpose it into a key that i can sing it in....sometimes easier said than done; I don’t know why some songs just refuse any key other than the original. Maybe it’s just because they are so damn good :-)
Hi Jason, love this lesson of yours. Just wondering what settings you have on your guitar and amp ? I just can't quite get the sound right. Thanks Mate.

Thanks again for a great lesson. Your lessons are always so much easier to understand than most UA-cam stuff. Cheers. 🎸
Thanks!
Incredible song. That pop sensibility. Looks a touch above my beginner level playing but defo a goal to shoot for!
Brilliant, man. Joe Jackson is great. His Steppin Out is being used for a TV Commercial (Jet !?). You are very cool. And very good at explaining.
Outstanding. When pop music was clever and well crafted.
Great song!
Thanks for the great lesson!
Thanks for the tip! :)

Hi Jason,
love this lesson of yours. Just wondering what settings you have on your guitar and amp ?
I just can't quite get the sound right.
Thanks Mate.
JR!!!
I am confused. What is that chord that is in the intro you play on the 6th fret? You called it an Em. I can not find an Em played on the 6th fret.
That's a slip up on my part, I should have said Eb minor.
@@thejaseguitar ok. Thanks for getting back.
Any chance you have tab for this?
I'm afraid I don't
That intro was Eb though, not Emin. 😎
Yes, bit of a slip of the tongue there. Hopefully it's clear what I'm playing.
@@thejaseguitar Yes, no problem. Thought I’d point it out in case it caused any confusion. 👍
@@paulbentley2216 Thanks. Corrections always welcome.
Tune!
In the intro, its Dm, Eb major, not Em
Yes, I don’t know why I said Em when I’m playing Eb. A lapse of concentration there.
Still great though! 👍

that had me confused and rewinding 😂
great lesson though
You’ve shown me so many chords you’ve earned a pass on one👍
Sube algo de bossa nova para ir cambiando generos musicales
classic
2:12 You're going from Dm to E, not Em :)
Actually I said minor when I meant to say flat. It's an Eb I got to.
@@thejaseguitar Ah yes, Eb. "Doh!" on me 😂
