It is my usual tactic for any class with any sort of reliable healing for the enrage. Most of the pressure comes from being chased down by an ever accelerating juggernaut. Also, I don't have to panic about being awesome damage, which I'm usually not.
Nice guide mate, i thinking of taking imp instead of felhunter, that way you can still soak aoe with pet and just damage the primary boss with imp, what do you think ? And isnt it safer to just let the big boy follow us instead of having the enrage mechanic ? just corruption and curse of slow
I don't see much benefit of using the imp because the interrupt with fel hunter takes the pressure off the hands casting. You would have to take each hand out before the cast happens. That is possible, but the interrupt buys you time. I don't think it is safer. The ever quickening Karam makes doing damage much more difficult because eventually he will be fast even with curse of exhaustion. Using the adds to buff drain life gives more than enough healing to cope with an enraged Raest, taking advantage of grim harvest. I'd love to see it done though. A better warlock than me could take Raest first, I reckon.
Take the talents that boost drain life. Make macros to counter-spell the hands so you don't have to worry about targeting them. Make another macro to position your pet for the void zones. Once you get past the first phase with Karam, just make tight circles around the ground markings. Always focus hands down until Karam is done for, it makes it easy. Choose 'Vile Taint' talent for mass application of agony (and a temporary snare for good measure). Use the grim harvest buff to drain life as a heal or a nuke as you see fit. Use your movement talents when you can, such as portal and teleport.
/petmoveto to a button on my mouse and then use the targeting reticle to place your pet. I keep my pet on passive for this fight with warlock. Damage is negligible and the weird paths it takes on the terrain can be inconsistent and time consuming.
During Shadowlands, Shadow Priest was one of the later successes due to my being awful. I deployed the same tactic though, dispatching Karam first. It worked a treat! I don’t know if it will work in 10.0.5 but here is my older video ua-cam.com/video/B5O4xKp8br8/v-deo.html
Every class got some pros and cons here. In case u didnt know, Raest hast more than double the amount of HP with affliction than it has with Shadowpriest 😉
Besides the general good feeling of doing it, each class gets a set transmog re-coloured from Tomb of Sargeras for completing any challenge available to that spec. If you complete each of the seven challenges you get a mount, which still seems quite rare. There is also a feat of strength to earn for doing each class specialisation.
I haven't done Frost Mage in 10.0.5, but my tactic would be the same as my 9.1.5 attempt (which is also the same for Marksmanship Hunter). You don't have the self healing of other classes in this challenge so your tactic is to kill Raest while Karam is still active. The fight is over when Raest is defeated. My Frost Mage video is here: ua-cam.com/video/cXWgj18bQXc/v-deo.html Use tight circles around the area that Raest sits in. Save orb and blizzard for hands. and the talents that make blizzard instant cast while orb is out and cooldown reduced when blizzard causes damage are essential for this.
I realised I didn't actually answer your question. My apologies. Grim Harvest talent stacks a buff on the warlock buffing drain life on each tick of Agony. I use the adds to keep buffing drain life and out heal the enrage shadow bolts. It's a longer fight but very achievable with patience.
I had 562 intellect, 21% crit, 14% haste, 59% mastery, 1% versatility, 3% speed inside the fight. I used an Garrosh heirloom weapon with two gem sockets, WoD mythic casters DPS trinket, Heart of Azeroth, legendary BoA cloak - I had some Legion flasks available too but no other consumables or food used.
I didn't keep track of the attempts. It was many because I kept trying things out and I'd just quit if I missed a void spot with my pet. Took me about 3 hours.
Hehe nice but with all the new talents, shields, and dmg buffs this should be trivial now. Was alot more fun when it was harder and there were tons of people who could not do it originaly. It should not be the same reward for nurfed content imo, but Blizzard destroyed green fire too so not surprised...........
Upon first release in Legion, it was really challenging...unless you had the legendary ring that made corruption last forever and snared the afflicted by 50%. It got even easier once the patches went by as the ever increasing power of the artefacts took over. Scaling it to item level 50 keeps the challenge much more inline in my opinion. I used the same healing tactic in Legion and Shadowlands as I did in Dragonflight and Legion legendary is largely available as talents now.
i cant believe you killed the sword guy first wow. I've never done this as warlock though.

@@trevplayswow Ok good to know, i was asking because i didnt try aff yet, cleared demono yesterday.
Keep the good content mate !
Any tips for this one? I just did Destruction after 112 pulls, I picked up warlock just to do those 2 challenges :)

I could use a summon as shadow priest during this fight, LOL

What rewards do we get doing that? I did mage tower in legion but idk if its worth doing it again.

I'm doin frost mage now, whenever I kill Karam, Raests' Shadow Bolt kills me in about 4 shots...how did it not kill you?

@@trevplayswow Ahhh ok that makes sense...I've only tried it twice on my Afflock when I was getting frustrated with Frost mage. Very cool, gj!
What is the weapon transmog you are using ?
It is the affliction artefact weapon from Legion with the then Mage Tower appearance applied.
what are you stats while inside the fight?

@TrevPlaysWoW thanks man! That's awesome and very helpful, how many attempts did it take you?
@@trevplayswow what trinkets were you using?
I didn't keep track of the attempts. It was many because I kept trying things out and I'd just quit if I missed a void spot with my pet. Took me about 3 hours.
Orb of Voidsight (Heirloom) and Breath of Plains (Dragonflight WQ) were the trinkets I used.
