This is such a good tutorial! The first one of this nature that I've found incredibly easy to follow. It doesn't move too fast, I don't have to keep hitting repeat, you explain things so clearly and easy to understand. Thanks so much!!
I recently decided that I didn’t like the glow because of how it clashed with the GPencil, so now the rim light group is just the factor of a colour mix node before the emission node with the texture being A and the rim light colour being B. 8:07
Hey this was truly so helpful. Seriously. I have one question. Do you know how to make it so the rim light doesn't apply to areas that shouldn't be hit by it? For instance, on my character, there's a rim light on the hair but then there's also a rim light on the neck (but the hair is behind it so technically the hair should be blocking the light). And there's also rim light on the edge of the nostril, in the iris of the eye, etc. If there's no way, I'll just figure out another means for doing the rim light, just figured I'd ask in case you know! Thanks again!
So this is like a fake rim light and unfortunately I don’t think it’s possible to use this particular method like your said. However if I find an alternative method that still works with toon shading, I’ll be sure to leave it here. Sorry that it doesn’t work like you want, but I hope you still found some of this helpful. Have a great day/ night and I’ll see if I can find an alternative method.
This should work for what you want, you would just have to change the rim light factor stuff from what I had to this :) ua-cam.com/video/9BXweyv6XIY/v-deo.htmlsi=EwOna4OmwtiPzLWx
@@Tobi-Face oh no worries at ALL! The shading part was also great and helped me figure out a problem I was having with what I was doing prior. I’m sure I’ll figure something out. Thanks again!
I think you should mention that you're using GOO from the start. I have nothing against it, but I just don't have that engine, and I'd like to know that's what's expected before getting a sixth way through your tutorial first. :c
Unfortunately it does require a one time purchases of there Patron ( The second tier ), so I recommend doing some research to make sure this is the one you want. www.patreon.com/dillongoo To get started with your research I recommend this channel because he is the guy who made it :) www.youtube.com/@professorGoo/videos

Thanks, just trying my best :)

Thank you, but out dated now but hopefully people still find it useful:)
Bro you sound like Peter Parker from some alternate universe. Great Tut
That's good to hear because I'm gonna be voicing him in my Fan Animated Series haha :)
Thanks my brother.
thanks !
Do you know how we can export the materials into an FBX file for unity, or perhaps we have to convert it into textures and edit it by UV mapping

@@Tobi-Face OMG this UA-cam link you sent was perfect. Figured it out. Thank you!
Use goo engine for that type of rim light

This tutorial works without Goo engine.
Hello. Is the goo node available to download somewhere? Thank you! :D Fantastic job! So cool.

hey, do you have a discord account? I'm new to the whole goo engine and I need some simple help on cel shading on my textures.
