This is the edited version of the luncheon footage too, which cuts at Wallace Beery and after Alexis Smith. Dean Stockwell, Spring Byington, Gladys Cooper are all missing. I've struggled for years to identify the woman you have spotted. On the panoramic photo you have bought I know she's facing forward.
I don't see Vera Ellen. That is strange. At the time of this luncheon, Vera Ellen was one of MGM's biggest dancing stars. She had been starring with Gene Kelly in On the Town and with Fred Astaire in Three Little Words at the time of this luncheon. Was she not invited? And what was Alexis Smith doing there? As far as I know, she was never under studio contract to MGM. She was a Warner Brothers workhorse. Also I don't see Cyd Charisse.
I just bought a copy of a panoramic photograph taken of the entire event that should include the mystery #46 facing towards the camera. I'll scan it and use AI to upscale it so we can see what she looked like facing forward, hopefully will help.
It's arranged in alphabetical order, and other videos show Robert Young on her other side, so her last name should be alphabetically between Williams and Young. Or Williams or Young. 🤔 However, after looking at photos - she looks like Mary Astor, to me.
I thinks it's Mary Astor, as well. Though they're seated, by and large, alphabetically, Fred Astaire is seated next to Judy Garland, so there was at least one exception, and there could have possibly been others.
If I would go back to this 1949 MGM 25TH Anniversary on stage to sing different about 6 songs and then I would ask Clark Gable come to the stage and put a blindfold over his eyes for special Surprize for Clark Gable with a special guest I am doing a Magic trick
Even though this is the shortest video of the event, it’s the best because it notes stars’ names
I can now confirm that it is Beverly Tyler.
Who was Beverly Tyler?
And is she still alive and so is Claude Jarman Jr he is alive.
only person still alive as of 2023 is claude jarman jr. we will never see the likes of such talent ever again!
As of January 2024, now. Angela Lansbury (1925-2022), however, remains the longest-lived at 96 years, 11 months, and 25 days.
Buster Keaton 😂 love it!
Why does Lena Horne looks both scared and sad?? Poor thing, I hope she was ok.

Lewis Stone is also missing, he was sitting next to Dean Stockwell.

46 is Beverly Tyler. It took me ages to work it out and it’s a million percent Beverly.
I don't think she was under contract to Metro in 1949. Her final film for the studio was The Beginning or the End in 1947.
@@eblackadder3She was still under contract. It’s Beverly. Her face is clear in the large photograph available online.
Crawford was terminated from employment by then. She was at warner brothers at this time

It’s mostly in alphabetical order except a few.

What's the music title?
I just sent an email with a scan of a photo taken at the event. Should be in your Gmail. I hope it helps!
Great work! We've posted it under our Community tab. Maybe someone will recognize her.
Nancy Walker???
Could it be Ruth Hussey?
It’s Beverly Tyler
@@bobbymaesteg I've never heard of her
She was a supporting MGM player @@ruthbashford3176
