Not sure about this. See--yes, I know it's cheesy--Malcolm Gladwell's "Blink." As much "creativity" can come in a blink as in a monthlong noodle.

He was talking about experts who have already developed a highly trained subconscious in limited domains. Their subconscious can over time learn to judge in those domains very quickly and be accurate. Which Guy Claxton very much approves of. But those cases are rare for most people. The trouble is most people try to make decisions too quickly in areas where they maybe do not have lots of experience in. It pays to let the subconscious process it slowly and gather more facts. To gestate inside us. Read the book, I think you will enjoy it. Very underrated compared to many best sellers out there. And it's properly science-based and shows all sides of the story.

Didn't all those big C guys basically trip out to come up with that stuff? We know that Einstein was a daydreaming dyslexic and Job's was a lsd hippy picking apples. Mozart? Who knows?
All of these dudes were taking their time exploring mental spaces that tapped into intuition along with logic.
