We buy or receive kits, new, old or used... and slowly but constantly the number grows. There is no a precise design to became a collector but it happens, and when you stop in front of every single model the story comes to you and remind of those special times... This is what happens and why we have so many rc models, it's our passion and the channel is a way to share it and not be alone! Thank you.
You are right Nanni. I never set out to have a big collection, it just happened!! Wow man that collection is something else reminds how long I've been watching for since the oldest set up one of the only draw backs with rc you almost need a warehouse to store and work on them absolutely amazing collection and incredible workmanship well done Addam you and the channel have come a long way 💪👊

That was an enjoyable walkthrough of the collection! Some of those I had completely forgotten about! The forties have been a rough decade. While in my head I feel in my twenties, my body feels all of 48.😂 My job is a physical one and while I feel I have the same strength that I did 20 years ago, recovery time is longer!😂 Sometimes I feel like I need half the weekend to recover!🤣 Enjoy the weekend and rest up!👍😊

My knees are the worst part, many years of working in a cabinet shop and installing them meant a million times squatting and standing and carrying way too many heavy things up stairs! LOL! Add the torn up knee with multiple surgeries on it and it really hates me doing all this work. Working a desk job for the last 15 years has also made me rather soft and fluffy so that does not help either LOL! No matter what, we are both well past our twenties and things just don't happen as fast as it did back then. I think that is why time seems to fly by so fast now compared to back then! What too 8 hours back then take 2 days and 2 days to recover from it! LOL! I only have to get the baseboard trim installed (already been painted) and I can call it done for now! Take care bud!
Thanks Richard! The garage is the man cave for sure. Also where I don't get any grief for the way things are, for the most part. occasionally my wife does end up there shaking her head at me! LOL! I am sure it will be nice to have a dedicated room for the RCs and fun stuff. I spent many, many years working at the kitchen table working on things and stuffing cars in closets and under the bed so I am very familiar dealing with a lack of space! LOL!

The variety and the selection (probably not the right word but it’s all I could think of) is a great cross section of the hobby over the years. I know some folks go after strictly things like rally cars or monster trucks but I enjoy them all and if it looks good or fun to build then it is one a list of things to get or on the wall already! Thanks Steve, lots and lots of goodies out there! I bought the Associate MT years ago from a co-worker for $50 and it has a few broken bits and I never got it fixed. I 100% meant to but something always came up as a priority over that one and it never got touched. I just wish I had bought the parts for it back then when you could still find most of them cheap! LOL!
@@AddamsPlayground yeah I hear ya.. I been putting off fixing a few of mine, I just now ordered some motors and a esc to try. I keep burning up my motors in the tamiya buggies .. so I am going to try the kyosho 550 14T motors that come in the mad van and there fazer series cars I hope they hold up and don't burn up! The 550 motors seem to run better because they have much more power.

It is a neat buggy for sure. It has THE worst suspension on it though. They nailed the looks of it but failed completely with the geometry of it. once you put the battery into it the suspension cannot barely hold up the weight of the car and it is just the poor angles of the way the made things fit. Still a super cool piece of RC history though.
Love seeing your collection. Wow, I knew you had a lot of cars and projects but I had no clue it was this large. Wow!! Makes my collection look puny though I also do get rid of a lot of my cheaper RTR RC I get for free because I have no room for them on my shelves. I need to get a new kit to build. My interest just keeps changing though. You need to get those Lunchbox vans like the Mystery Machine out sometime in a video

Yes, I picked that up off eBay months ago for very little. No controller for it but I plan on putting modern electronics in there at some point to be able to drive it.

I am once again running out of room so things are going to have to get shifted around and re-organized to make room to the ones still needing to be built and restored/rebuilt. I am glad you have the house stuff sorted out and you are getting settled into the new place. That is always a tiring and stressful ordeal even when everything goes well! Awesome you are going to be able to get a crawler course set up out there, it is a lot of work but it is worth it in the end!

Thanks Mike! Yes, I do enjoy just sitting down and taking them all in from time to time. That little kid inside me just sits there and smiles the biggest smile seeing the ones wanted for so long now sitting there for our enjoyment!! There are a lot of Wishlist check boxes ticked off sitting on those shelves. The Saint Dragon is definitely one most either love or hate. It is definitely one of the more oddly designed ones I have. The hockey figures are cool and I have had those for many years now. unfortunately they are all fixed into a static pose so it would be difficult to turn any of them into drivers. I have a couples doubles out of the box elsewhere and I did take a look at one time to see about it but it would be terribly difficult to do. for the bathroom and hall re-do I only have the base trim to put down and the doors to paint. I'll get the trim down this weekend and the doors can be painted when it is nice outside and I get them on some saw-horses and spray them with the airless sprayer! I think I have 5 doors to do so I will get them all set up at one time and blast them all! I am looking forward to getting the trim down so I can call it done for now!
@@AddamsPlayground It's a good feeling when a project nears completion. I found in the past that dollar stores can be a good source of small driver figures. You can and cut them up little to make them fit and you haven't spent too much. You can also find some unusual ones. I looked at a Saint Dragon on buyee, but I found it complicated to determine shipping costs.
@@michaeldorich4485 The Driver for the Mad Max buggy came from the the dollar store! It has been a while since I have gone in there, I need to go in sometime and see what figures they have for possible future builds! The shipping is the trickiest things on buyee. So far I have just gotten multiple things and bundled them together. I am clueless to what it would be on single items. I assume in the $75 dollar range for a sing e kit but that is just a guess.

I had initially planned on swapping back and forth but it is so much more convenient to go to the basement versus all the way out to the garage most days plus I can hear what is going on in the house from indoors.

Sweet collection dude! I just realized the last time I commented about the drift tires I think I called them PVC, but I was talking about the ABS ones. I still run those, but I'm still doing AWD drifting I don't have an RWD yet.
I must have made dozens of dozens of those tires at one point. I know I had to buy a 12ft length f the pipe to make some and other folks wanted some so I sat after work on day and cranked out tons of them. Sold them for pennies as they were so cheap to make! I still only have 4wd cars to go drifting around with. One of these days I would like to get a real rwd drift car but would like to have a real indoor track to run it on, my basement is not big enough to do much in.
I think it is one of the most wanted ones for them to re-release but they just don't seem to listen to the collectors though. I still have my fingers crossed for a re-re of it as well as i would get another just to build and bash around without worries!

The Tornado is a unique little buggy! A ton of influence from the Hot Shot but they failed miserably with the suspension geometry! A few changes and it could have been a heck of an RC!

I am glad you enjoyed it. The workshop was a mess, but it always seems to be no matter how hard I try and keep it straight! There are days where I think someone else sneaks in at nights and works on their stuff while I am asleep and I have to clean up after them!

Yeah it is nuts to think how many I have added in a fairly short amount of time. Lots of watching others on YT will make you want all of them!! LOL! Yeah I am ready for fall, working in the heat really sucks! I got overheated the other day and felt like garbage for hours. But it is a lot cheaper than paying someone else to do it! I need my RC budget so I have to do the work myself LOL!

Thanks Mads, I am glad you enjoyed the quick walk through of them all. I am sure I missed a few. The knees and back have thoroughly informed me I am very well past my 20s now and I cannot do anywhere near as much as I could back then! I can still get it done, it just take 3 to 4 times longer than it used to! So far I have repainted, put down new flooring, hung new doors, replaced all the bathroom accessories (towel holders, etc.) and replaced all the switches and outlets, installed a new medicine cabinet and I just have to put the base board trim down to be done with this project. I am ready to be done with it for sure! Why I decided to start this in the hottest part of the year is beyond me! LOL! The green buggy is on the Jeg's Stinger buggies, it is a much cheaper, generic version of the G-Force Genova. They were imported and sold through Jegs along with the Torch which is a CEN monster truck. I guess it was a year or two ago they clearances them out for super cheap. I grabbed a couple while they were on sale. I had two 1/8 scale buggies at one point, the Ravager and then I had gotten a Thunder Tiger buggy as well. I gave the Thunder Tiger to Brent at Adventure Time RC but I wanted to keep the Ravager as I really liked that buggy. If it was not so expensive to convert it to electric I would have done that but I think I am just going to keep it as is and be a fond memory. It is the last nitro thing I have now.
Wow! You have a lot of car kits. You have them in a lot of different places through out your house. I do too. My wife sometimes gets annoyed at that. I did not see a Tamiya Porsche 959 kit. That surprises me. I had 3 of them but sold 2 of them. I figured that I really only needed to have one. I plan on retiring next year. I plan on building finishing my R/C cars. I will then sell most of my collection during my retirement. Thoughts?
I mainly have them in the upstairs of my garage and in the basement are. My wife has a firm no RCs in the main part of the house and she lets me do whatever I want (mostly) in the garage and basement so I am good with that arrangement! I do not have a 959, not sure I will ever get one. I like them for what they are but I really do not have any connection to them or desire to get one. For the collection it would be cool but not for the money folks want for them. There are still way too many other I want to get I can devote that amount of money to getting. Enjoy the retirement, I have a terrible time letting go of any of my "things" and would be hard pressed to sell them but in the end I cannot take them with me and if it funds the ability to not have to go to work then it seems like a decent plan!
@@AddamsPlayground I think that is funny that your wife does not want RCs in the main part of the house. My wife is like that too. I also got my wife and kids a few RCs which we drive from time to time as a family. I do agree it is hard to let things go sometimes. However, if you have more than 1 it is easier. I do agree the 959 is really expensive and not worth it. There is a chance next year during Tamiya's 50th anniversary they might re-release the kit. If they do I hope they put it on one of the newer chassis. I was thinking maybe the Tamiya MF-01x chassis would be a great choice. Thoughts?
Great collection! Thanks for the tour! What's a good steering servo to use for the Super Clod Buster and the Squash Van? I also went with the Noble NB4. Thanks again for all you do!
Thank you! For the clod, if it is all stock then I would just pick up one of the 35kg servos you can find on Amazon and eBay, that is what I have in both of mine. Any metal geared high torque servo will work fine honestly. In stock form the steering is always going to feel a bit sluggish and squishy due to the servo savers. When sitting still the steering won't do much and you need to have the tires rolling to be able to turn. One of the common upgrades is to buy the servo-on-axle kits and mount a servo to each axle. I have not done it to either of mine as I don't feel the need to for it and enjoy them the way they are but I know it is fairly common. Hope it helps!

I really have tried to streamline my collection and hold back unless it's something that I really want (or wanted back in the day!)..... space is really becoming an issue! I think my favourites out of all that you showed us would have to be the herd of lunchies, and perhaps the king cab..... one that I'm preying will be re released more than any other model! They problem I have is I spent so many hours building imaginary ones from back in the day (we could not afford but the few I actually got) so I want them all! LOL! There are very few I did not like back then so it is hard for me to not want them all. Plus years and years of collecting other things (sports cards, comics, coins) it is in my nature now to want to complete the series. I also am easily distracted by new shiny things so any new releases are always hyper attractive to me. I shake my head at myself from time to time as it is verging on insanity to have so many! LOL! Honestly if I had to have just one, I would probably keep just one of the modern bashers. They are super tough, super fun and I really don't have that attachment to them like the older ones so there would be less worries about taking it out and smashing it about. I think if I had to be limited to just one it would end up being one I least care about and could crash and laugh at instead of cringe! Thankfully I hope I won't have to make that choice! And then there's my golf hobby, where I collect vintage golf balls..... Which also takes nearly as much money and space as the rc cars! 😂 My rc collection is now filling up the kitchen as well as the hobby room! 😂 We are all just a bunch of big kids living in the land of nostalgia..... but that's totally fine by me, all good! 😊 👍 👍 👍
Not quite there yet but there are a few projects stacked on top of other projects, that could be a sign! I have a bit more room down there I can utilize without starting to take up floor space so i am safe for now! LOL!
Did you ever run your JEGs Stinger Buggy? One of those new in box could be really collectable in the future just because it's an oddball and most people didn't take care of them. Also my favorite out of all of them is the Dumb and Dumber van, hands down. Love that one.
I ran it but something broke on it right away and I don't think I ever had it in another video. Nothing against it but I think other things came up and it just never got back on camera! I basically bought two of them as they were so cheap it was the easiest way to get all the parts cheap! I have still yet to drive the Torch monster truck. Got it out of the box and tried to fix the speak/whistle of the wheels venting the tires and just kind of stuck it away and never ran it. One of these days I will get it out and run it around for fun. The Dumb and Dumber van is my favorite custom one so far as well! It makes me smile!
Impressive collection dude! What I'm curious about is how do you get such neat cuts on the yoga blocks? I'm cutting mine with the largest kitchen knife we have, but I always get torn edges.
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed the tour. I cut mine on a bandsaw, I have quite a few wood working tools out in the garage so I fire it up and it saws through them like butter. See if you can find one of those deadly electric turkey carving knives. I think that would work well and you can probably find one at a thrift shop or local goodwill for next to nothing. Just be super careful with it!
I love the collection, so many nice cars, buggies and trucks. I was disappointed I could not find that Kaido Hornet R34GTR. Though I found a rare Countach and Anton Senna F1 models for 65AUD after tax and there selling for a lot so do I sell or keep them 🤔
Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed the tour of them all! I think the Tamiya collectors put a big dent into the Hornet R34 stock when they saw them! I have seen them on eBay here still for around $35-40 for the regular versions. In Australia it is probably a lot different though. For selling the others it really depends on a few things, are you going to really hate giving them up? Is there something else you would rather have instead for that money? and are they going to hold that value in a year? If you are not attached, there is another project to fund then maybe sell them. I cannot speak to the resale value and how long it stays high for, not my wheelhouse but I have noticed a decline in RC pricing and the amount of crazy priced listings on sites for collectable ones so we may be flattening out there. Not sure about the little scale world.
@AddamsPlayground I'm actually amd Australian working I'm Malaysia and been a expat for over 10yrs. This makes it hard to collect too much as sometimes I move to a different country. I think I will keep the 2 cars as there rare and in old boxes and not so big. The Kaido House cars are very expensive even in Japan. There was one very old in box Kyosho at Super Rajikon but I can remeber the name and no photos allowed, tha ks fpr your response enjoy your day 👍🏻

Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed the stroll through them. I started using foam Yoga blocks as car stands a while ago. I can buy them in 2 packs for around $15 and then cut both in half to get 4 stands so a fairly inexpensive way to keep the tires from getting flat spots.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the walk though of it. I assume you are talking about either the body on the Monster beetle or the Blitzer Beetle. Both of those are lexan reproduction bodies from Team Blue Grove with MCI decals on them. The one on the BB is just weathered to look like it has been raced in Baja.
You have a really cool collection. I just don't the time or the space I.m happy with. What I have I seen a bunch of you tube channel with a huge collection of cars to me it looks like over kill if you not using the cars

I am glad you enjoyed the quick tour through everything. Yeah, I have really stacked up the projects over the last 6 months. I am having trouble figuring out which thing to do next and to stay on task with the ones I have started there is so many to choose from. It is a little over stimulating at times! LOL! the green and black on is one of the Jegs Stinger buggies. I had gotten a clear body for it and painted it up to be a bit different from all the other black and yellow ones out there. It is basically a budget version of the G-Force Genova.
Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed the quick tour through it. The blocks are just foam yoga blocks I cut on my bandsaw for car stands. I do them either straight in half for the bigger trucks and on an angle for a lot of the buggies so you can see more of the body. The trucks need a bit more height for the tires to be up off the shelf. I usually get the blocks from Amazon and can generally get a 2 pack for around $15 so I can end up with 4 stands with that.
@@RC4X4 You can probably cut them with a fine toothed back saw (miter box saw) but if you have access to a band saw or a friend that has one they make super easy work out of it! The cuts don't have to be absolutely perfect as the cut side will go down on the shelf.
You have a couple of cars... I hear you about not being 20 anymore! I am so freaking embarrassing how out of shape I am now...too much time behind the desk for sure! Every time I have to get down on the floor, I am taking the risk that I will never be able to get back up again. Last week, I hurt my back bending over to pick something up...WTF???
There is a few of them around here! Yes, this getting old stuff is way more difficult than I thought it would be! Now I know why so many of my older relatives seemed grumpy all the time! Sitting around all day behind a desk for the last 15 years has really not helped me at all. I am woefully out of shape (unless round counts) and yes, I know the floor debate also! I went to be about a month ago and was perfectly fine, woke up with a terrible pinch in my neck the next day. It took two weeks for it to go away! How do you do that sleeping??
Hi Adam, Richmans Toys produced a Batmobile many years ago but I think i saw a larger rc Batmobile possibly by Cox rc from 1989-1990 maybe 91 would you have any ideas on this subject please 🙏?
I know I have seen a fair amount of various toy grade RCs from the different movies made and some going all the way back to the late 70s but I do not remember seeing any by a hobby grade company at all. Not saying they did not I just do not recall ever seeing one. Wish I had more info for you, sorry.
I do not have a stock GH2, the Mad Max buggy 8:29 was what that kit turned into. I have the Super Dragon 7:09 on the Hopper chassis and I have the Super Fighter G buggy as well. The Super Fighter G is in black with the blue wheels at 3:35. But no, I do not have the Super G variant of the GH2.
@@AddamsPlayground Question then. I came across at my local hobby store, hobby town usa to be exact a wild wessel, sand scorcher and black addition GH2. they go for 209.00 for the first 2 and 175.00 for the last one. Im sure there newer kits but dose that seem like a fair price?
@@David-mf9bk I think autocorrect got you on the first one. If you are talking about the Wild Willy then $209 is about normal, if you are talking about the Wild One then that is a good price, they are usually closer to $250 so that is a good price. For the Sand Scorcher that is a terrific price as those are usually closer to the $400 price! For the GH2 black edition those are getting very hard to find and that is a reasonable price for that. Not a real bargain but seeing as they are not in stock anywhere it is a great price!

@@David-mf9bk Those are about normal prices for them. Hobby Town USA is going to generally have things at normal prices overall, they do have good sales from time to time though. My LHS is a Hobby Town as well. The Blackfoot would make and awful crawler honestly. There is not way to make it 4wd and the gear box does not like a lot of torque and the diff gears can skip under very heavy loads Check out the video by Scale Builders Guild one the CR12 crawler with the backfoot body on it. I have been tempted to do that myself! That way you have a decent crawler with a killer body!
No it is a RadioShack quad RC. I have the green one and the the yellow Baja Screamer which still has its box. Both are cool but no hobby grade. Send me an email and we can discuss the Ryft.
@@AddamsPlayground what's your email I had a radio shack quad It was blue I did so much work to it upgrading it to hobby grade electronics still wasn't fast enough I put a brushless system in it It finally went fast enough on 2S but I could hear something clicking in the rear diff It was funny because there was a square nut that went into a square hole and if I punched it it would spin it and I didn't want to round it out so I sold it or traded a friend for something I kind of miss it It was cool

It is definitely a dream com true to have so many of the cars and trucks I wanted as kid and believe me when I sit down there and look around that little 10 year old is in there smiling from ear to ear!! Yes, room is a problem once again. I am not sure what I am going to do about it, I am limited to where I can expand to! We still have the "No RCs in the main part of the house" rule so that is a no-go! I am sure some more shelf space can be found but not a ton! There is ceiling space available, I will have to get creative! LOL!
We buy or receive kits, new, old or used... and slowly but constantly the number grows. There is no a precise design to became a collector but it happens, and when you stop in front of every single model the story comes to you and remind of those special times... This is what happens and why we have so many rc models, it's our passion and the channel is a way to share it and not be alone! Thank you.

My job is a physical one and while I feel I have the same strength that I did 20 years ago, recovery time is longer!😂 Sometimes I feel like I need half the weekend to recover!🤣

My knees are the worst part, many years of working in a cabinet shop and installing them meant a million times squatting and standing and carrying way too many heavy things up stairs! LOL! Add the torn up knee with multiple surgeries on it and it really hates me doing all this work. Working a desk job for the last 15 years has also made me rather soft and fluffy so that does not help either LOL! No matter what, we are both well past our twenties and things just don't happen as fast as it did back then. I think that is why time seems to fly by so fast now compared to back then! What too 8 hours back then take 2 days and 2 days to recover from it! LOL!
I only have to get the baseboard trim installed (already been painted) and I can call it done for now! Take care bud!

Thanks Richard! The garage is the man cave for sure. Also where I don't get any grief for the way things are, for the most part. occasionally my wife does end up there shaking her head at me! LOL! I am sure it will be nice to have a dedicated room for the RCs and fun stuff. I spent many, many years working at the kitchen table working on things and stuffing cars in closets and under the bed so I am very familiar dealing with a lack of space! LOL!

Thanks Steve, lots and lots of goodies out there! I bought the Associate MT years ago from a co-worker for $50 and it has a few broken bits and I never got it fixed. I 100% meant to but something always came up as a priority over that one and it never got touched. I just wish I had bought the parts for it back then when you could still find most of them cheap! LOL!
@@AddamsPlayground yeah I hear ya.. I been putting off fixing a few of mine, I just now ordered some motors and a esc to try. I keep burning up my motors in the tamiya buggies .. so I am going to try the kyosho 550 14T motors that come in the mad van and there fazer series cars I hope they hold up and don't burn up! The 550 motors seem to run better because they have much more power.

I always wanted the monogram RC’s. I used to drool over them at toys r us when I would go get models
It is a neat buggy for sure. It has THE worst suspension on it though. They nailed the looks of it but failed completely with the geometry of it. once you put the battery into it the suspension cannot barely hold up the weight of the car and it is just the poor angles of the way the made things fit. Still a super cool piece of RC history though.
Love seeing your collection. Wow, I knew you had a lot of cars and projects but I had no clue it was this large. Wow!! Makes my collection look puny though I also do get rid of a lot of my cheaper RTR RC I get for free because I have no room for them on my shelves. I need to get a new kit to build. My interest just keeps changing though. You need to get those Lunchbox vans like the Mystery Machine out sometime in a video

Yes, the knees have thoroughly reminded me I am no longer anywhere near my 20s anymore! LOL! Normally I have the good knee and the bad knee but currently I have the bad knee and the really awful knee! Swollen, stiff and just angry at me! It will be fine in a couple more days and I can go back to mistreating it by putting the baseboard trim down! LOL!

Thanks Mike! Yes, I do enjoy just sitting down and taking them all in from time to time. That little kid inside me just sits there and smiles the biggest smile seeing the ones wanted for so long now sitting there for our enjoyment!! There are a lot of Wishlist check boxes ticked off sitting on those shelves. The Saint Dragon is definitely one most either love or hate. It is definitely one of the more oddly designed ones I have. The hockey figures are cool and I have had those for many years now. unfortunately they are all fixed into a static pose so it would be difficult to turn any of them into drivers. I have a couples doubles out of the box elsewhere and I did take a look at one time to see about it but it would be terribly difficult to do. for the bathroom and hall re-do I only have the base trim to put down and the doors to paint. I'll get the trim down this weekend and the doors can be painted when it is nice outside and I get them on some saw-horses and spray them with the airless sprayer! I think I have 5 doors to do so I will get them all set up at one time and blast them all! I am looking forward to getting the trim down so I can call it done for now!
@@AddamsPlayground It's a good feeling when a project nears completion. I found in the past that dollar stores can be a good source of small driver figures. You can and cut them up little to make them fit and you haven't spent too much. You can also find some unusual ones. I looked at a Saint Dragon on buyee, but I found it complicated to determine shipping costs.
@@michaeldorich4485 The Driver for the Mad Max buggy came from the the dollar store! It has been a while since I have gone in there, I need to go in sometime and see what figures they have for possible future builds! The shipping is the trickiest things on buyee. So far I have just gotten multiple things and bundled them together. I am clueless to what it would be on single items. I assume in the $75 dollar range for a sing e kit but that is just a guess.

I had initially planned on swapping back and forth but it is so much more convenient to go to the basement versus all the way out to the garage most days plus I can hear what is going on in the house from indoors.

Sweet collection dude! I just realized the last time I commented about the drift tires I think I called them PVC, but I was talking about the ABS ones. I still run those, but I'm still doing AWD drifting I don't have an RWD yet.
I must have made dozens of dozens of those tires at one point. I know I had to buy a 12ft length f the pipe to make some and other folks wanted some so I sat after work on day and cranked out tons of them. Sold them for pennies as they were so cheap to make! I still only have 4wd cars to go drifting around with. One of these days I would like to get a real rwd drift car but would like to have a real indoor track to run it on, my basement is not big enough to do much in.

I think it is one of the most wanted ones for them to re-release but they just don't seem to listen to the collectors though. I still have my fingers crossed for a re-re of it as well as i would get another just to build and bash around without worries!

The Tornado is a unique little buggy! A ton of influence from the Hot Shot but they failed miserably with the suspension geometry! A few changes and it could have been a heck of an RC!

I am glad you enjoyed it. The workshop was a mess, but it always seems to be no matter how hard I try and keep it straight! There are days where I think someone else sneaks in at nights and works on their stuff while I am asleep and I have to clean up after them!

Yeah it is nuts to think how many I have added in a fairly short amount of time. Lots of watching others on YT will make you want all of them!! LOL! Yeah I am ready for fall, working in the heat really sucks! I got overheated the other day and felt like garbage for hours. But it is a lot cheaper than paying someone else to do it! I need my RC budget so I have to do the work myself LOL!

The knees and back have thoroughly informed me I am very well past my 20s now and I cannot do anywhere near as much as I could back then! I can still get it done, it just take 3 to 4 times longer than it used to! So far I have repainted, put down new flooring, hung new doors, replaced all the bathroom accessories (towel holders, etc.) and replaced all the switches and outlets, installed a new medicine cabinet and I just have to put the base board trim down to be done with this project. I am ready to be done with it for sure! Why I decided to start this in the hottest part of the year is beyond me! LOL!
The green buggy is on the Jeg's Stinger buggies, it is a much cheaper, generic version of the G-Force Genova. They were imported and sold through Jegs along with the Torch which is a CEN monster truck. I guess it was a year or two ago they clearances them out for super cheap. I grabbed a couple while they were on sale.
I had two 1/8 scale buggies at one point, the Ravager and then I had gotten a Thunder Tiger buggy as well. I gave the Thunder Tiger to Brent at Adventure Time RC but I wanted to keep the Ravager as I really liked that buggy. If it was not so expensive to convert it to electric I would have done that but I think I am just going to keep it as is and be a fond memory. It is the last nitro thing I have now.

Wow! You have a lot of car kits. You have them in a lot of different places through out your house. I do too. My wife sometimes gets annoyed at that. I did not see a Tamiya Porsche 959 kit. That surprises me. I had 3 of them but sold 2 of them. I figured that I really only needed to have one. I plan on retiring next year. I plan on building finishing my R/C cars. I will then sell most of my collection during my retirement. Thoughts?
I mainly have them in the upstairs of my garage and in the basement are. My wife has a firm no RCs in the main part of the house and she lets me do whatever I want (mostly) in the garage and basement so I am good with that arrangement! I do not have a 959, not sure I will ever get one. I like them for what they are but I really do not have any connection to them or desire to get one. For the collection it would be cool but not for the money folks want for them. There are still way too many other I want to get I can devote that amount of money to getting. Enjoy the retirement, I have a terrible time letting go of any of my "things" and would be hard pressed to sell them but in the end I cannot take them with me and if it funds the ability to not have to go to work then it seems like a decent plan!

I also got my wife and kids a few RCs which we drive from time to time as a family. I do agree it is hard to let things go sometimes. However, if you have more than 1 it is easier. I do agree the 959 is really expensive and not worth it. There is a chance next year during Tamiya's 50th anniversary they might re-release the kit. If they do I hope they put it on one of the newer chassis. I was thinking maybe the Tamiya MF-01x chassis would be a great choice. Thoughts?

Thank you! For the clod, if it is all stock then I would just pick up one of the 35kg servos you can find on Amazon and eBay, that is what I have in both of mine. Any metal geared high torque servo will work fine honestly. In stock form the steering is always going to feel a bit sluggish and squishy due to the servo savers. When sitting still the steering won't do much and you need to have the tires rolling to be able to turn. One of the common upgrades is to buy the servo-on-axle kits and mount a servo to each axle. I have not done it to either of mine as I don't feel the need to for it and enjoy them the way they are but I know it is fairly common. Hope it helps!

Thanks James! I am glad you enjoyed the tour through them all. Yes, space becomes an issue quickly, not like we are collecting matchbox cars! LOL! Buy would that be cheaper and easier to store LOL!! They problem I have is I spent so many hours building imaginary ones from back in the day (we could not afford but the few I actually got) so I want them all! LOL! There are very few I did not like back then so it is hard for me to not want them all. Plus years and years of collecting other things (sports cards, comics, coins) it is in my nature now to want to complete the series. I also am easily distracted by new shiny things so any new releases are always hyper attractive to me. I shake my head at myself from time to time as it is verging on insanity to have so many! LOL!
Honestly if I had to have just one, I would probably keep just one of the modern bashers. They are super tough, super fun and I really don't have that attachment to them like the older ones so there would be less worries about taking it out and smashing it about. I think if I had to be limited to just one it would end up being one I least care about and could crash and laugh at instead of cringe! Thankfully I hope I won't have to make that choice!

Did you ever run your JEGs Stinger Buggy? One of those new in box could be really collectable in the future just because it's an oddball and most people didn't take care of them.
Also my favorite out of all of them is the Dumb and Dumber van, hands down. Love that one.
I ran it but something broke on it right away and I don't think I ever had it in another video. Nothing against it but I think other things came up and it just never got back on camera! I basically bought two of them as they were so cheap it was the easiest way to get all the parts cheap! I have still yet to drive the Torch monster truck. Got it out of the box and tried to fix the speak/whistle of the wheels venting the tires and just kind of stuck it away and never ran it. One of these days I will get it out and run it around for fun. The Dumb and Dumber van is my favorite custom one so far as well! It makes me smile!

I cut mine on a bandsaw, I have quite a few wood working tools out in the garage so I fire it up and it saws through them like butter. See if you can find one of those deadly electric turkey carving knives. I think that would work well and you can probably find one at a thrift shop or local goodwill for next to nothing. Just be super careful with it!

I love the collection, so many nice cars, buggies and trucks. I was disappointed I could not find that Kaido Hornet R34GTR. Though I found a rare Countach and Anton Senna F1 models for 65AUD after tax and there selling for a lot so do I sell or keep them 🤔
Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed the tour of them all! I think the Tamiya collectors put a big dent into the Hornet R34 stock when they saw them! I have seen them on eBay here still for around $35-40 for the regular versions. In Australia it is probably a lot different though. For selling the others it really depends on a few things, are you going to really hate giving them up? Is there something else you would rather have instead for that money? and are they going to hold that value in a year? If you are not attached, there is another project to fund then maybe sell them. I cannot speak to the resale value and how long it stays high for, not my wheelhouse but I have noticed a decline in RC pricing and the amount of crazy priced listings on sites for collectable ones so we may be flattening out there. Not sure about the little scale world.
@AddamsPlayground I'm actually amd Australian working I'm Malaysia and been a expat for over 10yrs. This makes it hard to collect too much as sometimes I move to a different country. I think I will keep the 2 cars as there rare and in old boxes and not so big. The Kaido House cars are very expensive even in Japan. There was one very old in box Kyosho at Super Rajikon but I can remeber the name and no photos allowed, tha ks fpr your response enjoy your day 👍🏻

Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed the stroll through them. I started using foam Yoga blocks as car stands a while ago. I can buy them in 2 packs for around $15 and then cut both in half to get 4 stands so a fairly inexpensive way to keep the tires from getting flat spots.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the walk though of it. I assume you are talking about either the body on the Monster beetle or the Blitzer Beetle. Both of those are lexan reproduction bodies from Team Blue Grove with MCI decals on them. The one on the BB is just weathered to look like it has been raced in Baja.

the green and black on is one of the Jegs Stinger buggies. I had gotten a clear body for it and painted it up to be a bit different from all the other black and yellow ones out there. It is basically a budget version of the G-Force Genova.

Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed the quick tour through it. The blocks are just foam yoga blocks I cut on my bandsaw for car stands. I do them either straight in half for the bigger trucks and on an angle for a lot of the buggies so you can see more of the body. The trucks need a bit more height for the tires to be up off the shelf. I usually get the blocks from Amazon and can generally get a 2 pack for around $15 so I can end up with 4 stands with that.

@@RC4X4 You can probably cut them with a fine toothed back saw (miter box saw) but if you have access to a band saw or a friend that has one they make super easy work out of it! The cuts don't have to be absolutely perfect as the cut side will go down on the shelf.

I hear you about not being 20 anymore! I am so freaking embarrassing how out of shape I am now...too much time behind the desk for sure! Every time I have to get down on the floor, I am taking the risk that I will never be able to get back up again. Last week, I hurt my back bending over to pick something up...WTF???
There is a few of them around here! Yes, this getting old stuff is way more difficult than I thought it would be! Now I know why so many of my older relatives seemed grumpy all the time! Sitting around all day behind a desk for the last 15 years has really not helped me at all. I am woefully out of shape (unless round counts) and yes, I know the floor debate also! I went to be about a month ago and was perfectly fine, woke up with a terrible pinch in my neck the next day. It took two weeks for it to go away! How do you do that sleeping??

I know I have seen a fair amount of various toy grade RCs from the different movies made and some going all the way back to the late 70s but I do not remember seeing any by a hobby grade company at all. Not saying they did not I just do not recall ever seeing one. Wish I had more info for you, sorry.

I do not have a stock GH2, the Mad Max buggy 8:29 was what that kit turned into. I have the Super Dragon 7:09 on the Hopper chassis and I have the Super Fighter G buggy as well. The Super Fighter G is in black with the blue wheels at 3:35. But no, I do not have the Super G variant of the GH2.
@@AddamsPlayground Question then. I came across at my local hobby store, hobby town usa to be exact a wild wessel, sand scorcher and black addition GH2. they go for 209.00 for the first 2 and 175.00 for the last one. Im sure there newer kits but dose that seem like a fair price?
@@David-mf9bk I think autocorrect got you on the first one. If you are talking about the Wild Willy then $209 is about normal, if you are talking about the Wild One then that is a good price, they are usually closer to $250 so that is a good price. For the Sand Scorcher that is a terrific price as those are usually closer to the $400 price! For the GH2 black edition those are getting very hard to find and that is a reasonable price for that. Not a real bargain but seeing as they are not in stock anywhere it is a great price!

@@David-mf9bk Those are about normal prices for them. Hobby Town USA is going to generally have things at normal prices overall, they do have good sales from time to time though. My LHS is a Hobby Town as well.
The Blackfoot would make and awful crawler honestly. There is not way to make it 4wd and the gear box does not like a lot of torque and the diff gears can skip under very heavy loads
Check out the video by Scale Builders Guild one the CR12 crawler with the backfoot body on it. I have been tempted to do that myself! That way you have a decent crawler with a killer body!
