Man! Those pups really got it done! Seems to me you really got 'em trained well and a good responsive handle on them. I do cow dogs but this is my first taste of the catahoula wad on deer! Great trail dog camera footage. Quite an experience for me, thanks for sharing!!
@@CatahoulaTwoStep Was just thinking I’d take a backstrap as a donation;) Good work! Always enjoy watching man’s best friend do what they were bred to do vs living in an apartment! Those are some happy dogs!
would you be able to do this with one dog? I have a mix catahoula, she doesnt have the confidence to do risky things by her self. Wondering if a pure bred catahoula would get the work done solo. I use mine as a decoy coyote dog. Thats about all she does. she wont work them back and forth. She does just fine tracking deer on leash.
Yes sometimes I track with just one dog if I am close to roads or on small properties. You can get their drive up in a few different ways. Trapping a coon and letting them bay it in the trap is a good way to start and builds confidence as well.
Those ignorant city people think it's humane to leave a cripple, they are completely backwards. They don't understand that we are all gods creation. We have every right to be in the hills harvesting what he has provided for us. I am so happy he gifted us best friends to share our bounty with
Please understand. That deer was badly wounded. Dogs don’t catch that quickly any other way. No hunter likes this situation. But that deer would have continued getting up in front of the men tracking. Probably not been recovered and suffered along time.
Could you keep the dogs leashed to avoid the bites to the animal which raise its stress levels? Stress levels of the animal in the moments before death affect the meat. The dogs would just track it instead of baying it?
That deer had extremely clear injuries. If they didn’t step in the deer would 100% just suffer. Be thankful for the work these types of communities - large-scale or not - provide for hunters everywhere, rather than posting ignorant & closed-minded comments.
It is just a simple aluminum plate that I used to attach to the collar. I get a lot of questions about it so I will try to make a video showing it. I think one of the videos from before deer season shows it some.

Great video. Enjoyed the action.
Awesome work by your dogs!
I’m sorry it had to suffer, but I am glad you were able to recover it. What does a recovery cost?
I don’t charge but most people offer a tip/donation.

Is That collar camera mount home made?
Yes it is something I made. It's very simple. I will make a video soon showing it.
Yessir!!!! Are y'all in Georgia?
@@shaney3116 No, I’m in north Alabama but I’m not opposed to slipping over to GA to get one before our season starts here.
Awesome video with the dogcam

Like im not in anyway degrading im just genuinely curious as to why this is ok? I wanna know
That's no way to recover a deer! And you call yourselves hunters? You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Discusting!!!
Enlighten us on a better way?
what kind of camera harness do you have on your dog? I really like that footage!
