Isn’t this illegal in bjj?
Yes
Only if you like fake grappling events with limited rules for weak minded individuals who lack athleticism
@@LightBender777 if there was no rules than who to say the other guy couldn’t pull this move on him first. The dude could have paralyzed his opponent with that move。 it is straight up cheating. Same person like this slam my daughter too when she competed。 my daughter still won but the girl tried to cheat so many times to win.
@@LightBender777 you can use that dumb reasoning to literally anything that’s a foul dummie. “Only dummies who aren’t athletic don’t want eye gouging in their events. It’s a super effective technique and not having in it waters down the grappling.” 😂

Wrestling Fan Judge: "Nah thats like 5 points for the Wedgie transition into German Suplex."
How does the guy that level not know how to sumi gaeshi when it’s handed to him?
Was my impression as well… a lot of people here talking about the intensity of the throw, but the guy literally just let a throw handed to him on a silver platter go and then basically walked into the body lock… the standup IQ in BJJ is kinda embarrassing. And this videos is exactly why people need to train it, too-a DQ, sure, but this KO is as good as any sub and you didn’t have to even go to the ground for it.
Why ignore an entire phase of a grappling match?
He was way ahead on points, the match was almost over.
NO FORWARD MOMENTUM... you can't just pull throws out of your arse
You are comparing Japanese Ju-jitsu to Brazilian! They never get to our level. Gracie was kicked from the international ju-jitsu federation for going pro at 2nd degree! So 100% of Brazilian is about 30% Japanese knowledge imo.a very incomplete system! Focused more on sport than on combat self defense!
I think exactly teh same thing. He just wait the other guy take the lapel and try whatever he was planning
Unpopular opinion: this should be allowed in tournaments and standing game in jiu jitsu needs to be taken way more seriously.
Why should it be allowed?
Pretty bad sportsmanship.
To all the guys saying this is illegal and a bad move. This isn't ibjjf so it's legal and at the end of the day jiu jitsu is a martial art. In other martial arts, no one complains about being knocked out ever. Why here? Jiu jitsu should not be sportified and lose it's self defense origins. This isn't that bad.
Now, *_THIS_* is what you call Jui-Jitsu! Love it
skipped all that floor hugging and needless arm twisting. Just straight to the point.

Judoka here, nice Ura Nage.
That throw should be illegal in tournaments. Someone could easily break a neck.
Everyone who thinks people are too “soft” for catering to the rules of the competition should participate in KOTS and have their eyes gouged in a “real” fight. If you can’t obey the rules then go lose your eyesight in a streetfight, we don’t want your kind here.
Besides KOTS is great entertainment, make my day.
Yeah you’re soft for sure 😂
This is not sport. Hurting each other for a silly non professional competition is just dumb. I hope at least they got paid....
I don't think you have ever been in a contact sport.
@@SurmaSampo I have... and practised BJJ. Rules are set for a reason. Amateur sport and professional sport are two different things. I don't think risking your long term health for a stupid competition is a wise thing to do. But we all have different priorities I guess
As a wrestler, this is perfect
I don't know what's worse: losing because you suplexed your guy
Or
Winning by getting suplexed.
Both went home without a trophy.
I'd be happy to lose every single match. BJJ is for cowards
DQ, this was a disqualification. This is a good video of what not to do at an IBJJF tournament.
Also a good video showing that the rules need to be changed
If the guy who got knocked out would have had Judo training, he could step right into an uchi mata and slammed that other dude easily. Train Judo if your going to compete people. It’s an added tool.
That looks scary, that’s why I feel like takedown defense is very important. Weather it’s illegal or not, people may still do that and slam you. That’s why in my opinion it’s important to know how to defend yourself against something like that
He wasn't ko'd. He was being a little bit dramatic. That was a clean suplex and not dangerous. He only reacted that way because he knew it was illegal therefore it added the extra fear to it.
Dude used planet earth to inflict blunt force trauma.

To you guys saying this guy was showing poor sportsmanship, understand wrestling and judo don't have this problem. They take competition very seriously. If you're too worried about injuries, then don't compete. Plus, jiu jitsu should be practicing takedowns and takedown defense to help prevent this instead of sitting on your ass because you're afraid of getting tired.
boxers don’t check on each other either but that’s because it’s a different sport. it’s poor sportsmanship in jiu jitsu. bad take
Can you read? Its a BJJ competition. Not wrestling or judo.
Thats like watching a soccer video asking why people dont pick up the ball with their hands and not tackling eachother like rugy.

He got a brown stripe on his white belt.
Gave that man a wedgie just before suplexing him. They call that adding insult to injury 🤣
The title should read, BJJ invents the suplex
You mean discovers

That is terrifying

@@ubvrox ya, yall are the soccer players of the combat sports world, we know.
why he let his opponent held his leg and just hanging there to wait for some thing happens ?
he gives his opponent a chance to win..
Seeing something like this disgusts and enrages me. For the sake of winning a competition, he would risk and potentially did make his opponent a paraplegic or quadriplegic.
The telling sign of his complete lack of care is him not even bothering to check that his opponent was ok.
I remember a fight that I had where I picked up my opponent and he was about to come down on his head, so I intentionally lowered him down in a way where he was not at risk. I knew I could have killed him, so I restrained myself.
There is no honour in fighting anymore.
What is a Whizzer for 100
Scummy move. Think about the guy he just koed
Not sure how you can make it to brown belt and not know a suplex is a guaranteed DQ.
Legalize Suplexes !
Jiu-Jitsu 4 Odin
Haven’t competed bjj yet bc of Covid but I wrestled for 11 years. I’ve hit suplexes and been suplexed. If you know how to fall it’s not that dangerous
I really don't understand the rules regarding suplexes in Jiu Jitsu. Suplexes are legal so long as you don't spike them on their heads and this looked fairly clean. Guy didn't tuck his chin. He landed on his shoulders. It was a hard throw, the guy got rocked, I'm not denying that and this is why I use a modified version with different mechanics, closer to a butterfly sweep. It still confuses me though. I've been dumped on my head with an Ippon seoi nage and that's perfectly legal, along with other big throws. I'm not looking to slam people into extinction, nor be rude or unsportsmanlike. It just genuinely confuses me.
that was a thing of beauty , them bjj guys all brag about their sport until they meet a real grappler

This is why I pull guard
People have been hurt pulling guard. One guy got his leg twisted all nasty after his flying guard pull caused his opponent to fall on the leg of the guy pulling guard.
Injuries are far less common when pulling guard than during takedowns.
I've seen a guy get ko'd jumping to guard. His opponent timed it perfectly and fell into his closed guard(slammed) instead of catching the guard puller.
Youre apart of the reason shy People dont watch bjj
Great job, great technique,.
That guy should go to jail. I’m not kidding.
Illegal yes, but to prevent this kind of thing, head control! By not taking head control you allow the opponent to swivel and violently take you down HARD
👎 it’s as cool as winning any competition by cheating. It might be a little cooler if he would’ve told his opponent prior to their match that this move was on the table.
Perhaps his opponent would’ve suplex’d him before he got a chance. Not tough, not cool, just an a**hole that was about to lose so he DQ’d himself to save face....FAIL
