- In a late-season showdown, the sixth-ranked Duke Blue Devils, led by Trajan Langdon and Steve Wojciechowski travel to Westwood to take on Toby Bailey, J. R. Henderson and the seventeenth-ranked UCLA Bruins in a game that had NCAA Tournament Implications at stake.
Game played at Edmund Pauley Pavillion on Sunday, February 23, 1997.

Both of these teams had similar seasons that year - both started out slow but heated up down the stretch - only difference was Duke peaked too early and this game was the start of a stretch where they lost 4 of their last 6 including early exits in the ACC and NCAA tourneys. UCLA stayed red hot and didn't lose again until the Elite Eight.
Haha!!! I can see that!!!! Yes, basketball (BOTH College and NBA) and life in general were much better in the past. Sadly, I don't have the 11/15/1991 Hall-of-Fame Tip-Off Classic with UCLA beating Indiana. BUT, WHEN and IF I get it, I will most definitely upload that one for you (assuming that no one does it before me).

Toby Bailey was on a Laker preseason team once. Literally on the squad for a half cup of coffee. Don't recall if Jelani McCoy was on the 95 NCAA title team, but he was the only Bruin of that era to play for the Lakers, iirc. That only matters to me as a Laker fan, but I did bandwagon the Bruins from 94-98.
Jelani wasn't part of the 1995 championship. He was recruited after that season to fill in the position that George Zidek left.
I thought Bailey was gonna be a good NBA player lol. I didn't know basketball at all lol
