@lovevivien currently CX889 is EQV in June..but as u know the inbound flight of 889 is 840. In June, 77D only operates 840 on day 34...what i can advise u is try to make dummy bookings and look at the seating plan. i suppose u can choose your seat now if u are flying in June, as if u fly J class
@kansai07 Thanks buddy! I did some dummy bookings and found that my JFK-HKG (CX889) is using the old 77A, while my HKG-JFK (CX888) flight uses the 77D. Hmm, I'll have to rethink flying J class this summer. And how do you count this day 34 thing?
@kansai07 Thanks for replying! But according to the Cathay website, there's only 1 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with new business class (77D) in their fleet. How can 1 77D aircraft service the many JFK-HKG flights CX operates in a day? I'm flying in June, will all JFK-HKG flights be using the 77D then, specifically the CX889?
@kebl0826 if you are flying in Dec most likely both CX101/100 and CX111/110 will be in this new plane denoted 33E daily from 06/06/2011 and 01/08/2011 respectively, while CX160/161 will also operate certain days of week. the current timetable only show till end of northern summer...so there might be changes further later this year...stay tuned when u can use Manage your Booking.
@lovevivien ys...it is now in service, primarily JFK and YVR. ORD which start service on 01SEP will also use new Business class 777-300ERs, or 77D, to operate
Hmmm. Let's see .... Emirates: 2-3-2 abreast, angled lie flat seat (or on a 388, fully flat, but 2-4-2 cleverly staggered to *appear* 1-2-1) Cathay: 1-2-1 (both current and new seats), both fully flat. Maybe you meant to type: "Emirates has still a long way to catch up with Cathay?"
lol.... its basically the same business class than the old ones, i don't see much of a difference. The foot rest is facing inside instead of outside, i don't see any other diferences after that.

such a tiny plane. if flying business class i will pick to fly with 747-8i. it is big and impressive. and most of all flying with 18 wheels and 4 engines always is 1000000000000000000000 times safer than flying with only twin engines.
If there are 4 engines, there is also a possibility for the engines to malfunction. The aircraft has a higher risk of fire if there are more engines. Therefore, I don't agree with your view.
The days of that being true are long gone. Engines are more reliable now, so a twin engine jet is just as safe and way more efficient than a bigger jet. That being said, B747-8's are awesome, and I wish more airlines flew it.
On the other hand, having 4 engines have a higher chance to suffer from an engine fire/ engine failure/ bird strike. More does not mean good. Your concept is extremely wrong.
Very old video but amazing outstanding seats
Beautiful job to the engineers and the people who made this magnificent aircraft!
Looking forward to taking this!
wow that's so cool I'm flying LAX-HKG on august
it is 2018 and air china just started using reverse herringbone seats like the one in this video on their airbus a350xwb, what a surprise :)
Nice. I'm flying LHR-SYD return in Business in december. Hopefully the HKG-SYD leg will be in one of these new A330s.

@kansai07 Thanks! I checked my ticket and the return flight SYD-HKG is CX100!

Glad to see they reversed the herringbone, makes the cabin a lot friendlier cause the windows are cleared.
Chúc mừng.

@88warms build is also a noun and is used in this case as a form of construction
@lovevivien ys...it is now in service, primarily JFK and YVR. ORD which start service on 01SEP will also use new Business class 777-300ERs, or 77D, to operate
@kansai07 Hey, I have a question. Is this new seat available on the North America-HKG route?
HANDS DOWN
my dream
I love the new business class. Shame I can't afford anything more than an economy class ticket ... :(
FINALLY Cathay marketing got it right!
fight for check-in everytime when check-in :P
@kebl0826 This new seat is currently available only on CX101/100 HKG-SYD. if you hv a flexible ticket, change to this flight if u wish to.
WAS FUN TO WORK ON THIS IN TULOUSE
AWSOME :D but can't afford, can only economy :(
i want to fly for cathay pacific
Wow... but too bad I can't afford this :(
@88warms, 'build' is also a noun. *rolls eyes*
@krgos1 this A330-343X B-LAK
Hmmm. Let's see ....
Emirates: 2-3-2 abreast, angled lie flat seat (or on a 388, fully flat, but 2-4-2 cleverly staggered to *appear* 1-2-1)

ouch! just got owned :/
May be spending 50 nights a year on a plane and getting to work right after landing might help you see things differently.
I don't iff the CX a 343 will have these seats.

I agree. They should vary their airplanes. Ngo hai heung guong yun
i used to see cx is a big airlines. but now i am so disappointed for they have replaced all the 747 fleet with the tiny 777.

not impressive at all when comparing with flying on the upper deck of the 747-8i
