    Thank you so much, finally i found a Tutorial as simple as this one! Great work!

      Thanks, I struggled FOR YEARS, trying to figure this out, as an electronic impetus.

      Hey, so finally I managed to copy your setup, but it´s not working as in your video. The motor spins in one direction, and by moving the stick on my remote I can only stop the motor, but i can´t reverse the movement. Do you know any solution for this problem?

    • @kustomkb
      @kustomkb  6 років тому

      reverse the motor leads.The slave servo should "fight" the main motor. IE want to push it back, if that makes sense.

      Ha, AVE... Well we are both Canadian and both live on the Mighty Fraser.
      When you are throwing this kind of weight around, you need a "Skookum Choocher".

      I just happened to look up "Skookum" It is part of our local parlance. I
      hadn't realized, but it has now been popularized around the world thanks
      to AvE. Hilarious.Thanks for the kind words.

    Absolutely awesome video tutorial! This is exactly what I was looking for! One question....what is the purpose of the linkage rod from the servo arm to the motor arm?

    • @kustomkb
      @kustomkb  5 років тому +1

      Thanks.
      It is providing directional instructions and positional feedback. The servo has had the motor and gears removed. Leads are soldered on to where the motor was which provides instructions to the board. The servo pot tells it where it as. Here are some pictures;

      @@kustomkb I'm wondering if maybe you could help me out. "I am pretty sure" that I have my wires connected just like you do but the motor continues to spin in one direction, or the other, when the servo arm gets moved in either direction. There doesn't seem to be any "end point" in the servo travel. Thankfully, I didn't have the servo arm screw in the servo arm because the motor arm ripped the servo arm off the servo and continued to spin around, ha ha ha. Would you have any thoughts on what I might be missing?

    • @kustomkb
      @kustomkb  5 років тому +1

      @@mountaindewdude76 You want to reverse it. Switch the polarity of the DC Motor. You want the servo to fight the direction of rotation, not accelerate it, if that makes any sense. I also had the servo arm lightly attached in case it is backwards.

    I have enjoyed following your build. I have a somewhat similar project I am working on for my son but when I hook up the wiper motor to the servo the whole thing wants to shake itself to pieces...even on the bench with no steering linkage connected (other than the servo arm to the wiper motor arm for feedback) and regardless of the orientation of the pot to the wiper arm. No shaking when I disconnect the servo from the wiper motor...but that doesn't help when it comes to steering because I get no feedback from the servo. Any idea whats going on? Thanks

    • @kustomkb
      @kustomkb  4 роки тому

      Thanks Matthew,
      So the servo has been gutted right? and the only thing left is the pot and the output leads from where the servo motor used to be to the board. Is it an analog servo? It sounds like it is trying to over-correct. I had the same problem if you find my video; servo troubleshooting. It is sitting in a dead zone and doesn't quite know where centre is. Try indexing the servo arm a couple of splines either way. What seems to be mechanically centered is not necessarily the electronic centre.

      @@kustomkb Thanks for getting back. I think the problem is the sensitivity of the potentiometer. I can get the motor to stop by manipulating the potentiometer with it disconnected from the motor but even if I had a very tight (skookum) arm with no play at all (which I dont) I dont think I could ever get it attached without triggering the motor by turning the potentiometer slightly and beginning the death wobble

    Hello, I am bit confused with a diagram ....
    what wires go to H bridge from servo motor?
    1) Signal wire from servo motor IC (aa51880)
    or
    2) Wires from disconnected motor /two ends of the small dc motor?
    appreciated

    • @kustomkb
      @kustomkb  6 років тому +2

      The signal wires still control the motor through feedback.
      The 2 wires which were going to servo motor now go from servo board to h-bridge input.
