Thanks for taking the time to watch them vince, honestly I really do appreciate it. I’ve learnt loads watching your videos over the years and you do such a wide variety of repairs, really do love your channel. Really enjoyed watching your recent Nintendo switch blue screen repair. That was a great fix vince.👍
It’s definitely something hakko should of made everyone aware of before buying them, I really hope it helps and thanks so much for taking the time to watch the video. I really appreciate it👍
So why do you need to do this? Since solder melts with less than 300*C actual tip temperature. Is it to deal with demanding thermal loads (multilayer PCBs)? You should get one of those tip thermometers. I have one and it was very inexpensive… about £7 I think including battery and spare thermocouples (from eBay 3-5 years ago). Is 400*C the max set temperature for this station?
It’s due to the barcodes on the tips, on the tips on the irons they have a barcode which the station reads and sets the heat offsets on the station automatically for each tip so the tip is outputting the same temperature as shown on the station. On the hakko hot tweezer tips, there no barcodes so the heating offsets are not being automatically adjusted. So the actual temps are different to what’s being shown. It’s a design flaw with this particular station. Thanks so much rich
@@mm0077 it is a very good station and very reliable but to be honest the hakko fx-951 just as good and a lot cheaper. The hakko fx-951 is able to use all the same hand pieces apart from the hot tweezers, which are not the best hot tweezers anyway and you find you’ll barely use the hot tweezers anyway. Even though the fm-203 has an extra port than the fx-951, (which helps but not a deal breaker) they’re pretty much the same machine. I’ll try and do a video soon comparing both. The price for the fm-203 always been around that mark but because the machine was made very popular by the likes of louis RossMann , Jessa jones and other UA-camrs in the field , the price pretty stayed steady over the years and hasn’t really gone down unfortunately. The fx-951 definitely worth considering if you’re thinking of buying the fm-203. Rich
@@SURGE101 Thank you so much, I was not thinking to buy but I have been offered one to buy at £289 (bargain right) just Station with the normal stuff it comes normally and not tweezers etc. The only problem it's american version. I am not sure about using step down transformer with it. I know you can change the transformer to UK version. What do you think?
@@mm0077 that’s a bargain, if I was in your position I would definitely buy it. That’s just so annoying it’s the American 110v version. At that price you could buy it to just sell on and put the money towards a 240v one because you’ll have no problem reselling that on eBay for a nice profit. Hakko does make the kits for converting them if you’re thinking of keeping it for you, in this video he converts it using the part from hakko (not sure about cost) ua-cam.com/video/iRWWqmLkHiQ/v-deo.html Either way that’s a brilliant price for that station, definitely worth it. @@davadoff hi because the tips on the hakko hot tweezers don’t have the heating offset barcodes printed on the tips used for the calibration of the heating offsets like they do on the t12 tips shown in the video, the tips on the hot tweezers are not properly calibrated for the station, so even though the station shows the set temperature, the tip temperature a lot lower due to this. I believe it’s a design flaw with this station. I’m still using the same tips shown in the video today and they’re still performing very well. Thanks so much rich.
Learning so much from your videos, just working my way through them all 👍👍👍

Have these tweezers with over 4 years and never knew that, might use them a bit more now,

@@SURGE101 Hi, how would you rate the Fm203 as I note it is very expensive. Has it become expensive suddenly or they were always around £599.

Ewww Hakko! Just kidding....kinda :P
😂😂😂
Жесть какая, сколько жало проживет на таких температурах?
не могли бы вы перевести для меня на английский, поскольку UA-cam не переводит этот комментарий. Спасибо
