There's nothing wrong with saying you want to lose weight, and becoming healthier and fitter is going to mean some weight loss. Being overweight is bad for health and makes us feel rubbish so why can't you say "I'd like to get fitter and lean out a little to make myself healthier too" I'm all for body positivity but you are allowed to want to change your body to make yourself feel better inside and out ❤
I think the reason why she’s not so obsessed with weight loss necessarily is because of how obsessive it sounds like she was when she was a fitness girly and she was unhappy looking back, there’s too much of a social pressure to look a certain way. I think the way that Carys words being body confident isn’t a way of saying be positive about being obese, her point is more of make small steps to being a better version of yourself, myself being a size 18/20 it seems quite a large obstacle to tackle achieving a 14/16 body, small changes and better choices is a process and it’s a longterm lifestyle change which is better than a strict diet that is a short term solution, in the process of the journey love your body and be kind to yourself. I love Cary’s message and whole message to everyone! Honestly she is such a beautiful person, everyone that’s bigger understands her message! We all know being overweight isn’t healthy but saying that my dad has always been overweight and eats healthier than myself, he also had a physical job, I don’t think everyone’s body is built to be one size which is also a message that Cary’s puts out to the world!
Also just to add, I say the same thing I want to be healthier, of course as you said with that will come weight loss but I say that because I’m very confident in the way my body looks now but what’s more important than the aesthetic of my body is my health ❤
I understand completely what you've said but carys is obsessed with her body and she isn't happy as her constant posts on instagram say that, I am not being a hater because I wouldn't follow her if I didn't like her I have followed her since she was gym obsessed, but I think she feels because she's been trying to send out the message that having a belly is fine etc she now feels she can't say "I want to get fit again" which means weight loss but because of how instagram is now promoting bigger women over smaller she's scared to say it how it is and upset some of her followers maybe? I'm a gym girl myself and no matter what when you are a fitness person you have that obsession, it never goes away so I do think although she doesn't want to have a 6 pack again maybe she does want to lose weight and be a fit mum! Nothing wrong with that it's going to give her girls a good message about looking after their body's and good nutrition which is important ❤
I’m on a similar journey to you Carys; I’ve just been diagnosed with PCOS and told that I need to lose weight (I’ve put a fair amount on because of the condition) but as someone with a history of eating disorders it’s been very triggering. I’m just focusing more on whole foods rather than obsessing over numbers💛

Fab video. James with my son when he was little I'd often just show objects random stuff close by and talk about them in effect waffling on about them maybe what it was called, it's use or maybe the sentimental value, but it was more the conversational aspect I wanted to portray. You see my son is autistic, I was very worried he would be non verbal and inhis younger months he has very little hearing which we found out when he was about 2. However it was due to my talking to him we became very aware that he couldn't hear me properly and at four he had an operation both ears, he still now as an autistic adult has regular essential ear treatments so he can hear for a while. He's also had extensive help over the years to communicate. I'm convinced had I not talked so much in those early days alot would of been missed until alot later especially as he was my first and then my only child. The way amber communicates is very impressive and over time I can see although now it's cute the steps to make her realise when to talk and when to wait will be needed. For me at that time when others where telling their kids to wait I was just glad my son spoke.. my son naturally stayed silent in any social situation and sadly still does due to autistic social anxiety . I love watching how you both raise your girls and how both of you interact with them and each other. Keep up the great work and cerys you go girl your looking amazing and thank you for being so open about the fact that most designers don't cater for the bigger framed or bigger busted person. Being bigger isn't always due to over eating or inactivity it can be due to health, medication or after a health related condition such as pregnancy where your body undergoes alot of changes many out of your own control. So many don't show the honest side of being bigger and in fact society shame people into hiding their bodies when it's the lumps bumps and imperfections that are the true real and natural bodies that should be accepted and loved. I often think when clothes are prompted on society acceptable bodies all it does is shows the design flaws and weaknesses. When real bodies are shown and the product looks functional and comfortable that's the best selling point of any product.
Me and my husband are also trying to eat healthier, no processed foods, no seed oils, no food dyes or chemicals either. We focus on simple ingredients.
My husband and I have been on the no seed oils, dyes, processed foods etc for 6 months and I’ve lost nearly 15kg. The amount of sugar I didn’t know I was craving prior to this lifestyle change has been absolutely mind blowing. I only crave and eat fresh fruit and veg, locally sourced organic meats! Never felt so good at 30 and pregnant with baby number! Life changing!!!!! AND MY SKIN!
I really hope i can get into a mind-set like yours Carys, after giving birth I have been left with an apron of skin that hangs down and I hate it. I cant wear bikini bottoms as my loose skin can be visible from the top of the leg holes when wearing high waisted bottoms. I just think it disgusting and can't get my head around it. I hope positivity comes in time but it feels like a long way off for me at the moment. Thank you for being so open and being my inspiration ❤
It's not disgusting. It's just society taught you to view it that way. It's a psycial change to your body after doing an incredible thing like birthing a baby. Giving birth is so common, everyone does it, and so now it's looked upon as being a normal thing like eating crisp or drawing but it'd really bloody not. Giving birth is a powerful, dangerous and sometimes complicated thing to do that changes so much. Think how many things can go wrong or just think Giving birth adds another human being to this world that grows up and creates this life. Nobody thinks of the bigger things anymore. Everything is normalised and down played. Trust me, you are an extraordinarily strong human being has given birth and your body has took an enormous hit doing so and its still there, still keeping you going and so it shows some signs of the incredible work it has done, that's something to be proud of. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. ❤

I've followed you two for a long time now and what I like about your blogs now vs past is that your not all about your body and fitness but now youve matured into more DIY or being outside, Ambers growth and development, Mabel same. Its easier. Calm and I love that James is stepping back more instead of talking over you.
It’s important to remember loving your body is wanting it to be healthy, and being healthy comes with being strong, and being strong means leaning out and muscle. Losing weight is body positivity as long as you do it right!
