    So I do not dirtbike yet, but I am looking for a new bike to get into. Glad you posted this! I think this will be a perfect starter bike for me and probably grow into as well. I was actually considering the klx250, but seeing your other videos it seems I will outgrow the power very fast and this excf 250 is something that I can keep for a long time

      so I honestly wish I would have went with the KTM EXC-f 250 it has all the power someone needs. the power comes on a little slower than most race bikes, which is awesome for traction bc how linear it is

      I am the owner of the KTM 250 exc-f and I love it. But there are so many great bikes out there. Every time I ride (with Will) I wAnt to go out and by a 2stroke (mine is a 4stroke). His Husky is awesome.....But get the bike that suits what you think your going to ride. Borrow every bike you can and connect with guys and see if you can ride their bikes. Most guys will let you ride to see what you think of their bike.

    For that kind of terrain you need a dualsport like a ktm 690 enduro or husqvarna 701

      i was a new rider here, the review was more reflected towards new rider. but yeah a 701 or 690 is more idea. on this terrain. But was not my bike neither so did not want to drop it. even a gs1200 lol. But a 701 and 690 is not new rider friendly what so ever

      definitely does not! it is very manageable. I honestly wish I would have started on this bike instead of the klx250. the good thing about the exc-f you might never crave more power unless you desert race. and its a bike you can grow in

  • @HardcoreWeeaboo

    Hi dude! Seen a lot of nice threads of yours on some forum recently:) Nice stuff :D Do you think the bike can handle 65mph speeds on highway etc? Im planning to get Sherco 300 4 stroke, so im asking how the Exc 250 rides because i know that the Sherco will do about the same :D much love!

    • @RWWRENTAL
      @RWWRENTAL  4 роки тому +2

      thanks so much man lol. Oh yeah! 65 MPH is nothing for this bike. I mean 70 and 75 would be pushing it as far as comfort goes...its a very light bike. Sherco are solid as well, I almost bought one! the issue with Sherco is, just the support. KTM is much greater, say something breaks on it. but shercos are very reliable. I would say, if you plan on trail hoping a lot at 65 70 mph just to get back to your truck or something a 300 sherco will be better but the ktm 250 feels lighter on tighter stuff since ive ridden both.

    • @HardcoreWeeaboo

      @@RWWRENTAL Hahah no problem :D daamn thats so nice to hear, some people said the Sherco cant go more than 55 mph for more than 15 minutes on highway i was like wtf???? A Honda grom 125cc can handle that lol
      Yeah the support better with ktm true! Damn is the 250 much lighter than the Sherco? :o you think both of these bikes could handle 2 people on it for 1 hour at 65 mph? Take loved ones on adventures! Thats the max i will ever push these bikes if i get one of them!
      This will be my first time getting a motorcycle ever :D thx my bro 🤝

    • @RWWRENTAL
      @RWWRENTAL  4 роки тому

      @@HardcoreWeeaboo ha ha no thats not true. not sure why they would say that. the sherco might be a better choice for highway runs bc of the bigger engine. the 250 def feels lighter! I ridden both. But I take my husqvarna te250i 2 stroke 60 65 MPH and 4 strokes are better for on road. do you plan on doing a lot of on road? or just mainly trail hopping or getting back to your truck?

    • @RWWRENTAL
      @RWWRENTAL  Рік тому

      honestly, I would go for the ktm 250 EXCF and keep that bike for a life time. the only time you need a powerful 350 450 bike is if you are carrying tons of gear, fun factor for short bursts, or desert racing and you are seriously competeing.
      The 250 EXCF is still a powerful bike so I would still take it easy but it still a great introduction dirt bike at the same time. When it comes to hard enduro trails and trails that require more precise throttle responses, you actually do want a less powerful bike. I feel they are better handling and predication when it comes to popping your front tire and such. the only time when you need to upgrade to a bigger bike is most likely when you become an A, AA, Pro labeled rider. Then you will need that extra edge in those short burst sections to keep up with your time if that, even the pros though (with the exception of high course MX) use lower CC bikes

      @@RWWRENTAL That's a great attitude for sure! That said, I just got one and you do need to ring the snot out of it to get the POWER.. and it has it! But you can just keep the RPM under 7500 or 9000 and ride it like a bike with half the horse power. I found out on the freeway. Seemed lazy in 6th gear doing 65, then I just grabbed a hand full of throttle and WHAM, 90 miles an hour on a dirt bike! That power band is WAY up there and starts at like 10,000!!!

    Do you think it's worthy to get a 2011 250 excf now? I totally new with dirt bike and highly consider to get one.

    • @RWWRENTAL
      @RWWRENTAL  4 роки тому

      I would def consider one. A 250 is a great bike to learn on but you can also keep forever. Great starter bike and you most likely wont have to spend more cash as you get better for a another bike. Just take it easy and learn on flat dirt roads first dont take it on rocky stuff or more technical. It still has enough power to pop the front up. Also depends the kind of roads and trails you ride on. If you definitely want to eventually get into single track and technical trails this is a good bike to have. If its primarily wide open flat roads with high mileage I'll consider an actual dualsport like a wr250r

      @@RWWRENTAL Thanks a lot for your answer. Unfortunately WR250 not available in my areas, easier to get kx250, which i also consider since i can get newer year for the last one with the same amount of money with ktm 250 2011.

    • @RWWRENTAL
      @RWWRENTAL  4 роки тому

      hey man thanks for watching so the ktm250 is a way better bike off road. its not bad on road as well, the klx250 feels a bit more planted on the road at higher speeds butttt the ktm 250 has way more power and way more low end grunt. i didnt feel the need to rev it out. im going to do another review eventually when the snow goes away. the 250 EXCF is honestly all you need for everything unles syou do high speed desert runs. you dont need a lot of power for single track. in fact less power sometimes is better bc you are more confident and not scared of the throttle response

      Its like comparing a SUV to a Sportscar. Night and day. One is dual sport and other is a enduro bike. Different worlds and XT250 won't even get anywhere near to its perfomance. Even Yamaha WR250R is not the same. Compare it to a Yamaha WR250F

      not really man. take it up on 14k ft elevation the power wont be there on some steep passes Colorado has. both different bikes really but if I were to do basic single track and logging roads and standard OHV trails xt250 would be great. cant beat that price and reliability

      my friend who is a very experienced rider, which is cooleyecolorado does gnarly tough single track with this and plenty fast for him on wide open trails. but it depends on the trails you are you doing as well.

      RideWithWill all single track but the trails in missouri are all peaks and valleys so it’s straight up then straight down with no run up or anything and very rocky the further south we ride in missouri. Tons of riding parks around here that are harder and easier but it’s all the same thing just massive hillclimbs and I’ve got a bad habit of letting off when I hit a big rock or tree root halfway up and lose momentum so to makeup for my bad riding I need more power.

    • @RWWRENTAL
      @RWWRENTAL  4 роки тому

      @@nicholstop8161 similar to colorado our single track are in the mountains and sometimes a 250 is good because of all the throttle control you have on the bike on very technical stuff. There are times where I wish my te250i had less power in the revs bc the front comes up way too easy on rock crawl type trails.
      What is nice about the 250 excf it suppppper light like a 250 2 stroke. I've ridden the 350 also and that is also a great bike very nice on single track. However if you're ridding is 100% single track and gnarly stuff a 250 excf on 13/50 gearing does amazing.
      The main question you would want to ask yourself is how fast are you really going to be going on the single track.
      250 for very gnarly stuff on 13/50
      350 for I would say more aggressive fast climbs and fast flowy stuff.

      RideWithWill I think I’m gonna go with a 250. My dad was gonna go look at a 450 for me and wrecked his truck on the way so I think it’s a sign from god. 250 would be lighter anyway as I’m transitioning from riding a kx250 2 smoker. I wish I could just swap the transmission on my kx and it’d be perfect but it just won’t keep up.

      @@nicholstop8161 oh man sorry that happened buddy! hope he is ok! if you handled a KX250 you can essentially handle anything ha ha. I think you would be happy with the 250 or minimum 350 for single track. ive ridden all of them and sometimes I feel like selling my TE250i to get a ktm 250 excf just because its that much easier to ride on our gnarly single track. no its not super powerful like a 2 stroke but youll see how easy it is to ride on super gnarly stuff just because of the power delivery. my buddy also has a 500 ktm and does gnarly stuff with it, but he says he does not use all that power on the ST we hit anyways.
