The Bolton forums were very fair about the result, but made the mistake of saying it was all about ‘wanting it more’, and ‘outfought us’ et cetera; in truth, County had some quality all over the park as well, and the Trotters will play worse teams in League 1 this season.
Stockport actually scored all 8 goals, just to make the scoreline less embarrassing for Bolton. Now then, can someone get Paul Pogba to watch this video? He needs to see how hard midfielders should work.
Can someone explain what a non league team is? Like it should be part of some league given there are so many tires of leagues within the sports pyramid right? I might be wrong
It's just an expression that has come to mean anyone outside the top four divisions. The English league (rather arrogantly IMHO) named themselves "The Football League" so anyone not under that umbrella was "non-league". The National League is now effectively Division Five, and relegation there, whilst not desirable and possibly leading to scaling down and job losses, is no longer the death sentence it was when Barrow, Bradford PA and the others were exiled there decades ago.
This was such an interesting game. There were some moments of comical defending but a lot of the goals were exceptional bits of play and finishing
Stockport were relentless, great FA Cup night. 8 goals. Big well done to stockport county.
