    Just ordered mine yesterday for up in Sheffield. Looking forward to it arriving. My 4G Router with 3 worked great with around 100 down for 2 year and the last year it’s been terrible. No plans for openreach to bring fibre to the area so went for this option.
    Thanks for the video

    I got the kit a week ago and i have been on it for 4 days in my RV also in the UK. I am in the south west waiting to board a ferry to Spain - currently getting 226/18 which is not bad at all for a bottle of the barrel best effort service!. I got the half price offer which they are currently doing which was £300. Also worth noting there is now a rental option for £15 a month with £95 setup fee

    I live in the middle of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park...pretty much as rural as it gets, I am yet to have a day where my download speed drops below 220MBps. It I the best investment I made when moving. The biggest downfall is the size of the connector to the router...If you have to go through a wall you need a BIG hole...I happen to live in a 1820's converted cowshed the walls are about 18" thick so at the moment it is permanently hanging out an open window. To try and get every question answered...it took 5 days for it to arrive from ordering and that was in February 2023...so quick in fact I hadn't even moved and I had to ask the Estate Agent to sign for it. TLDR; I would recommend it to anyone!

    What on God's green earth is the point ? You have sky or Virgin in doors. You pay a monthly on that. Then your media. Then on top streaming services if your daft like me. Then a mobile phone. Pay for handset and on top your air time. And then you go buy one of these ? Plus £75 a month ? To speed you net up a bit ? ? ?

    • @SpectrumGeeks
      @SpectrumGeeks  7 місяців тому +1

      No Sky or Virgin here, and you need decent Internet for streaming and WFH. Also the speed increase was more than abit, it was 1220% faster, so totally worth it.

      @@bdd606Starlink is just an ISP, like any other provider. Any other services are on top, no different to if Sky is your ISP, the TV packages are not free, its just all part of the cost.

    Still don't understand people that run constant speedtests. If it works then why check speed? Simple question is... Can you do everything you need to do on the connection? If it takes longer to do something then that's life.

    • @SpectrumGeeks
      @SpectrumGeeks  Рік тому +3

      I am running the speed tests here to help people understand how the system performs. However, I think its good for people to run period checks (even if things seem to be working fine) to ensure you are getting the performance you are paying for.

      @@theFury1111 B.S. This is internet with global coverage. It is dirt cheap for what it is. It is not meant to compete with fiber or 5G for people in a city, but for those having poor to no internet. 20 years ago I worked in the Arctic and we had 64kbs and 500ms ping for 600$ a month.
