*CORRECTION* It is Indiegogo that has a refund policy and the one I've had luck with getting my money back, not Kickstarter. You guys are correct, Kickstarter doesn't help at all. In other words...proceed with any crowd funding site knowing you're backing the idea of a product in hopes that it actually gets produced and sees the light of day.
Hi Gamesky, Pq earbuds Official(pqearbuds.com) UA-cam account here. Thank you for your GREAT video. It's professional and objective. As we were preparing for crowdfunding on kickstarter when we sent you the earbuds, our project schedule was very tight. The product we sent you for review indeed have some problems, such as volume control and call sound, but we have solved these problems so far. If you want to reviewe it again, we will be very happy to send you a new version. More than that, We also want to explain some of the issues that you are concerned about. Thanks all guys for all the suggestions! 1. We did not plagiarize other people's ideas. When we thought of this idea and made it, we discovered that someone had a similar product. But we still think our solution is more elegant and beautiful. 2. Don't worry about whether it will be shipped on schedule. Our products are not at the conceptual stage. We are currently in mass production, and we will ship them according to the delivery date on kickstarter as scheduled. All the information will be published on our official website pqearbuds.com 3. We have also enhanced the magnetic attraction effect, which is several times stronger than the magnetic attraction effect in the video. Innovation requires payment of costs, we will always improve it. Thank you sincerely!
If they somehow manage to make a twist and turn mechanism to lock the replaceable battery in place, and tune the buds well, I guess they'll have a winner at hand
Kickstarted DOESN'T have your back if the company doesn't deliver the product, that's a lie. It happened to me once with a company that got more than a millions USD. I just lost the money, they did nothing. Never supporting any other project again.
Like what they say on their page, you're not buying a product from a store, you're funding an idea and if you get the rewards then great. I managed to get a refund from the bank when I ran into a scam project.
Maybe we were in the same scam! Many other backers got their refund from the bank, but my bank didn't help me with that. This was literarily a scam, supported by Kickstarted.
My understanding is that projects that don't succeed get orders refunded, and scams get refunded, but there is zero support once a product is delivered. If you order earbuds and it turns out that they make a terrifying sound that gives you seizures, kickstarter won't do anything about it (though various laws particularly in various states may help). But I've only backed a couple of the projects so far. I try to avoid companies that don't explain anything about construction, design, operational specs, etc. Also I'm cautious about ordering from companies/people with no previous history, not totally to exclude them but to be a little more cautious compared to those who have delivered good products. I don't think this kickstarter project describes the actual sound or function of the earbuds in any useful way, and the review here shows that they have mediocre sound at best. The battery life seems adequate and I love the idea of modular/replaceable batteries. Too bad, if the sound was decent I'd prbably give them a shot, especially at early bird prices.
@@mygreatdefenestrator You're correct about projects that don't hit the funding goal. If you're funding it with a credit card you won't get charged. Scam projects would be those that actually hit the funding goal, then the creator doesn't deliver on the promised rewards. In this case, KS doesn't actually take responsibility, i.e. if the creator runs away with your money, thats too bad. In my case, I reached out to my bank and they got it sorted out. Luckily I've only had 1 scam project so far, it's still 1 too many though. There have been various reports of KS scams in the news, just look it up. As for backing earbuds on KS, I backed the EOZ Air. While the creator did deliver the earbuds, they are not the specs promised. These hardware changes happened after funding has ended, and the end results appear more of a downgrade from the original promised specs. IF these risks pose a problem for you, it would be safer to get stuff from retail.
The mic on these definitely muffles the sound.. even the crowd noise as well, to the point that I do not hear the crowd noise. I guess that is a plus :P :D Great review through, covering every nitty-gritty detail.
That's very cool. Thanks for the heads up. I might need to take a look. Also due to your reviews on the duet 50 pros. I have been enjoying them since I seen your video. Keep up the great work.
I think I’d give 50 bucks for a pair. They’d have to improve the magnets and the audio range for me to drop $120 on a pair. I’d also like to have data on the battery lifespan too. If you only get 50-100 charges at that point they’re disposable.
Magnet isn't a good design since you can easily disconnect it and the bluetooth would have to re sync. If it was a twist lock it would be a bit better so you don't accidentally disconnect it
"World's first" "Syllable D9X" actually did it first, all the way back in 2017. They seem to be no longer available anywhere though, so this still has the market cornered.
Keith, Kickstarter does NOT have your back if the manufacturer won‘t deliver the item. Never has, never will. If you pledge and end up not getting anything it‘s basically tough luck. Kickstarter won‘t do anything about it. Believe me, I have been a kickstarter for countless years now. Then again it should be clear that kickstarter is not a store and you‘re basically only supporting the product coming to market. There‘s always a risk involved.
Very interesting! Great review as always. Have you seen the Morph true wireless ear buds on Kickstarter? It has a really unique feature - the case has a touchscreen on it. I'm backing it....seems really cool
Yeah same, the product seems super interesting, however some of the claims seem super unrealistic like the 24 hour battery and 50 on the case. Also the company only has 5 stat reviews on their site and the location they give for their office doesn't really look like an office on maps. That being said, if they aren't a scam it seems like insane earbuds.

The folks behind the project just stopped communicating with everyone.. so scammers basically.. i don't mind the failing part if people communicate with the backers .. failure is always possible but not saying anything is a crime.
Different but needs polishing, if u know what I mean Gamesky! Missing a lot in my opinion, also not into buying into "kick starter earbuds " anymore. Plus way to much cons verses pros, but thanks for another wonderfully done video!
Love this idea! Thanks for sharing. I would say those magnetic batteries look awfully flimsy! I'm sure someone could accidentally smack mine off if I were to walk through a crowd. I would suggest a snap-on or screw-on battery. Too bad the audio is muffled though -- I already have plenty of cheapies that are only good for audio, not for talking and watching movies.
I was joking that earbuds are just cat toys. Until my cat tried to steal my earbud in front of me. I guess that's what I get for letting him play with trash toys.
Hello! Just a question that has nothing to do with the current video. Can a codec be added per update if the built-in hardware supports this codec normally? For example earbuds that have the Qualcomm 3040 that supports ADAPTIVE APTX but are released without this codec can they get it by OTA? Similarly for the double connection, is it possible to add it by OTA? Thank you in advance🙏🏽
Why couldn't they just connect the batteries with a threaded screw-like design? Those magnets look like they'll fail of you're running or hell just flipping your hair behind your ear.
HI looking for 13-14 driver units with 6 mics , still have the earfun pro but they are dump sounding compare to my soundcore life A2 nc, but need more stable ones by using power amp,
I love when manufacturers try something different. Unfortunately "different" doesn't always mean "good". The gimmick in this case can't overcome the less than mediocre core product.
This is ridiculous. It doesn't have to be detachable, and making it proprietary defeats the purpose. Unless you can easily pop off the seal on that little detachable part and replace the battery with something off-the-shelf, we're back at square one. Can't they just put a little screw on the damn thing?
With an increasing number of comparably priced and excellent earbuds like the Edifier TWS1 offering 8 hours of playtime between charges, the gimmick of a replaceable battery creates more problems than it solves. A TRULY welcome feature of any bud in this price range would be mics that are actually good and not merely tolerable. And no volume control? GTFO

Interchangeable Batteries are very important and should be the standard for almost all electronic devices, especially on smartphones...
I 100% agree! Not being able to change the battery for a bluetooth earbud is just inconvenient.

They should have a 1/4 turn twist
This would definitely fix the stem issue and wouldn't be too difficult
Good, but it given as treading to fix the battery to the but. It enure the fall down as magnetic bond can be fell.

Cool concept but they should use a push and twist to lock the batteries rather than a weak magnet.
Magnet isn't a good design since you can easily disconnect it and the bluetooth would have to re sync. If it was a twist lock it would be a bit better so you don't accidentally disconnect it
My thoughts exactly. Make it magnetic but add a little twist motion so it kind of locks it in place and prevents accidental disconnects.
