How you draw says just as much about you as what you draw. In this second course in the Art & Science of Drawing series, you’ll learn to bring your drawings to life with dynamic and engaging mark making. You’ll learn to truly express yourself through drawing from the most delicate of marks to lines that jump off the page with passionate intensity.
You’ll learn:
• How to use the pencil to create a wide range of expressive and engaging lines marks.
• How to infuse your line work with emotion that truly connect with a viewer.
• How to draw objects in a way that give the viewer a sense of what it feels like to the touch.
• How to make objects appear to recede in space using atmospheric perspective.
The Art & Science of Drawing is a remarkable program that will teach you how to draw one day at a time. The program is simple, each day you’ll watch one video lesson that will introduce an essential drawing skill, and then do the recommended practice. The Art & Science of Drawing is overflowing with powerful insights into the drawing process and offers some of the clearest, most accessible drawing instruction available. Many of the tools and techniques you'll learn here are rarely taught outside of private art academies.
This course is the second installment of an 8-part series.

Thanks for this man, i'm taking weeks 3 and 4 on udemy and i find them really useful.
I'm glad that you're finding Form & Space to be useful!
man your content is really rich in information unlike those with million subscribers who just waste 10 minutes speaking nonsense.
thank u so much
شاهدت الدرس الثاني لقناتك وأجده مفيد جدًا، أنا متفائلة.
شكرًا لك
I’m glad that you’re here to learn.
Brent talking about how oblique lines can convey running or falling and how they're unpredictable. Me: if that line were a person they're relaxing and leaning on a fence haha
I love how the shading really brings out the contour lines of the project.
Best by far! Thank you for sharing!!
Beautiful lines you made .reminds me of outdoor scenery . Thanks 😊 for sharing.
Hi Bren, I have never thought before about a line such a way. Trying to learn about what you explained. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. You are truly a great teacher .

The funniest thing is that this morning while doing this activity I broke my pencil tip very definitively. Glad to know I was pushing it hard enough! :')

Your voice is so amazing!!
Your videos have widened our perspectives to another level!
Thank you 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌹🌹🌹🌹
Amazing well detailled video !
Maybe a dumb question, but do you think it is ok to start digitally (with a drawing tablet) or do we lose something by bypassing pencil and paper (or any other "traditional" media like your explaining in the video) ?
ty
Lines can be explained in such an interesting way…
I bought two of your lessons. I gained a lot from them. I think it was Udemy where I was first introduced to your work. I would like to get back to the lessons but I don't remember how. My name is Carl Holback< and it was 2-3 years ago when I bought them. I think one was on shading and the other was the Art & science of drawing. Can you help me with this?
Hi Carl, if you purchased the courses on Udemy you have lifetime access to them. You can contact Udemy support.udemy.com/hc/en-us if you need help with your login or password.
