If I have a 12 volt supply in the trunk, can I do DIY to get only positive and negative (instead of ground) from that instead of the under body connection of positive all the way from battery?
Being said that the strip will work as long as the car is on , correct ?

We recommend running the power wire to the battery. The 12 volt supply is meant for that aux. port, not to supply constant power to the trailer wiring.

      @@aaronlimon4803 Thanks for your reply.
I have hard wired 12 volt connection split for my dash cams and 1 connection made available in trunk (I did the connection) .. that connection will have power as long as the car is on .. I am not going to use this for trailer but I am going to use it for the LED strip light which has trailer plug

I have the exact same car, color and all. Will this support 350lb tounge weight? I want to mount a motorcycle carrier to this receiver and carry a load of 325 lb.
Specifically, Im asking if the vehicles body will support the weight without ripping the hitch bolts out. We have a cargo van but this is much more economical for our 500 mile trip. The gas savings alone will literally pay for this hitch.

It is a M12-1.25 x 30mm Hex bolt. All bolts should be included with the hitch.
