I go to McMaster right now in Canada and I'm really interested in going to law school after I'm done my final year! Your videos have been really helpful with everything, thank you for making these! :)
Hi, Uwa!! I was watching this video, and I saw your comment! In case you're interested in learning more about law school, law firms, and being a lawyer in general, I make videos on all of that stuff (including a video on how I decided to go to law school!) -- feel free to come check them out! :) Angela
Being at the top or at the bottom in the University doesn't depend as much on raw intelligence as it does on self-discipline and ability to make yourself work hard and resist temptations. :S
Making time is tricky, but you are right. You just have to make time for everything. We cannot just keep our noses buried on our books and cases. I am a freshman and I love my block! Competition is there in a way but it is just so nice that people help each other out and getting out of their ways to assist others.

So in Germany it’s so much Worse in law school xD you‘re like studying for 8 years and people are actually ripping off pages out of important books. Also the marks are given without making any sense. The best students could fail an exam and nobody knows why.

Although #3 is true, your first couple years of practice are, to a certain extent, dictated by your class rank. Small differences, of course, don't matter that much. But jumping up or down 10% definitely has an effect on your employment. And since your first job/experience in a way dictates where you end up, it's definitely good to be a bit competitive in challenging yourself to do better, in relation to your peers.
Awe, you go to U of O? I'm finishing up my undergrad at Carleton this year and submitting law school applications this weekend! Do you have any advice for personal statements that you found helpful? Great videos! You're so sweet and positive! :)
I'm just really so confused between law or entrepreneurship management. What is your candid opinion? ps you're beauty with brains, that's absolutely amazing 💖
I am currently freshman taking Law course at my uni in poland. I find you lucky that Law school in canada lasts only 3 years - in Poland Law takes 5 years :/
In Canada and the USA you must have a bachelor degree before being able to start law school so technically it'll take 7 years of studying after graduating from high school whereas in Europe you study 5 years.
in pakistan it takes 3 years to get a law degree and 6 months to get a district bar license and 2 year to get high court license and 15 years for supreme court.
Hi, lexi vega! I was watching the video and I saw your comment! In the U.S. you have to graduate from undergrad first before going to law school, but you can major in literally whatever you want. There are no requirements that you must major in anything in particular or take any classes in particular. Just pick something that interests you and do as well as you can in it! If you have any other questions or are interested in learning more about law school, law firms, or being a lawyer in general, I do videos on all of that stuff -- so feel free to come check them out! :) Angela

Hi, Anjana Regi Alex! I was watching this video, and I saw your comment! In case you're interested in an opinion from another attorney, I can tell you that you are free to major in anything you want in undergrad before going to law school (there are no specific undergrad major requirements). The most common majors are things like Political Science, English, History, and Criminal Justice, which are all great majors, but law schools also really like uniqueness. So STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) do really well getting into and doing well in law school, as do less common majors like art or anthropology. I would honestly recommend majoring in whatever interests you the most, and doing as well as you can in that major to give you the best chance to get into the law school of your choice. Good luck! P.S. I make videos on all kinds of topics related to law school, law firms, and being a lawyer in general if you want to come check them out! :) Angela

whenever i research about going to law school, people say its a waste of time and money and its not worth it because they end up getting really boring jobs that dont pay as much as you think, do you worry about this?
I personally don't worry about that, no. There are so many jobs in law that I'm sure everyone can find an area of law or a particular job that interests them. As for pay, some will for sure pay more than others. And yes law school costs a lot of money, but if it's what you're interested in/want to do with your life it can never be a waste of time, in my opinion! Hope this helps :)
I've thought about going to law school, but I've talked to 5 different lawyers so far. 2 changed careers because they didn't like it. Another didn't like it, but felt trapped, and the other 2 had nothing positive to say about it. I still remember what a couple of them said: "I've been doing this for forty years now. The best part of law was law school" and "You end up developing close relationships with people you don't like". LOL, food for thought. Yeah, the money is probably good, if you can even get a job, but a lot of them looked stressed and unhappy.
@@bgates275 Hi! I'm sorry that's the feedback you got from talking to lawyers about their jobs. Hi, Shreya Singh! I was watching this video and I saw your comment! In case you're interested in the perspective of another attorney, the answer to your question is absolutely not. :) You definitely do not need to be a great or even a good public speaker before entering law school. Public speaking (or even speaking in front of a small group) is a skill that is developed over time and is not evaluated in law school. If you're interested in improving your public speaking skills, you can sign up for moot court or mock trial teams (i.e. practice speaking in court as a litigator), but the vast majority of a lawyer's work is done at a desk in an office, and choosing a corporate law career (as opposed to a litigation career) will minimize your public speaking opportunities even more. I hope this helps! If you have any other questions or are interested in learning more about law school, law firms, or being a lawyer in general, I do videos on all of that stuff -- so feel free to come check them out! :) Angela

You guys are not listening at all. Her experience about law schools is from Canada. AND at 05:36, She said where she was studying at Ottawa U which is in Canada in Ontario, the capital of Canada.
What Law school do you go to? I am interested in U of Ottawa, U of Western, and maybe Dalhousie in Nova Scotia. I currently attend Laurier for an undergraduate degree in Law and Society but I am trying to prepare for my Future ahead
I just find doing notes is the easiest, just make 3 sets of notes and you don't have to do anything else. Like literally you don't have to study hard or go to the library or even go to lectures (make sure to watch them though online). Just make 3 sets of notes full notes, case/statute notes and question templates, and you will know every thing in the course. You don't even have to read the course books.
I have question I am interested in being a criminal lawyer does it matter what school I go to become one and I heard it's hard to get a job after finishing school
People claim price is 200K and you end up with that much debt and all that but that's not true... the problem is people listen to those that claim this same gibberish advice for universities in that you should go to the best school you can. People listen to this advice in regards to universities and grad schools and end up with all this debt. What they don't realize is they should instead go to the best school that they can afford to pay off in a shorter period of time. I have friends who went straight to the best university they got into for example one was UT Austin... and they ended up having to go to a community college not long after. It's important to find a medium between cost and quality... that way you avoid so much debt
"Stress!" Especially Criminal Law! always been at the edge of failing, but luckily passed. But beside that, once graduated you will find out that it was worth the effort. Wish you all the luck. P.S. Keep up the good work.
Hey im also in Ottawa doing my undergrad in criminology. I've been debating on applying to law school after, but it's such an unknown area to me. If I could ever have the chance to ask you a few questions that would be awesome!
Thank you for being so helpful! I am in my first year of undergrad at Brock in Labour Studies and I am considering Law School. I want to be an Employment and Labour Lawyer. My Dream Law School is York. Glad that you're a fellow Canadian!
Thank you for making this video!! I'm also Canadian and want to be a lawyer(: I'm applying to university next month, what degree do you recommend will prepare you for law school?
There is no undergrad that will prepare you any more than any other for law school. The only exception to this, might be philosophy courses in logic. What I'd recommend is that you do an undergrad in something you think you will be interested in, and that you think you will do well at. A lot of the law schools go by numbers only, and don't care what you majored in. That being said, undergrad is only half the battle. If you are serious about law, you're going to want to put quite a few hours into the LSAT too, as most schools weight it at least equally with your entire undergrad degree.
Thank you so much for this! I'm currently a first year in law school and its hard to not think about these things and avoid feeling incompetent, but your video was very reassuring! It's great to actually find other law students encouraging others to do their personal best, keep it up! :D
Don’t forget that hellish 4 year undergrad! But you can’t limit yourself because school is hard. If you’re being educated for a career you want and are invested in your future and do something you’re interested in, it’s totally worth it

so weird how americans have to do an undergrad degree then a law degree, here in the uk, you can do a law degree as your undergrad degree.
Avi L in India too we can either do undergrad and then law school or do a five year course as a bachelor's too.
4 Fake hate to burst your bubble, but no, you're not :)
You can do both in the U.S., it depends where you go.
c Y Yes we are :)

For number 5 you also go a law school in Canada, aren't Canadians way more nice than Americans?
So im in high school but i wanted to know how u do your exams
What can you go in the exam with
Usually you can't bring anything in with you for exams. Some professors will have take home exams and some will allow books.
It’s all competition!!!!! And I fucking love it!!!
Does becoming a good lawyer mean that you have to be a great speaker beforehand ?
Shreya Singh I'm worried about that too
Hi, Shreya Singh! :) Angela
@@juliuscaesar1062 Hi! I saw that you had the same questions as Shreya Singh, so I'll repeat my answer here in case you find it helpful!

University of Ottawa!
Its really helpful.Thanks alot.
haha i love it when you take a breath before dispelling each myth
your username 😂
I just find doing notes is the easiest, just make 3 sets of notes and you don't have to do anything else. Like literally you don't have to study hard or go to the library or even go to lectures (make sure to watch them though online). Just make 3 sets of notes full notes, case/statute notes and question templates, and you will know every thing in the course. You don't even have to read the course books.
Looking up for more of this😊🙏
What I'm thinking of is reparation from Spain from conquering the Philippines...

Did u have an undergraduate degree?
THANKS!!!

What is your Instagram? Love your vids.
"Stress!" Especially Criminal Law! always been at the edge of failing, but luckily passed. But beside that, once graduated you will find out that it was worth the effort. Wish you all the luck.
P.S. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much!
Hey im also in Ottawa doing my undergrad in criminology. I've been debating on applying to law school after, but it's such an unknown area to me. If I could ever have the chance to ask you a few questions that would be awesome!
Ask away!
Thank you for being so helpful! I am in my first year of undergrad at Brock in Labour Studies and I am considering Law School. I want to be an Employment and Labour Lawyer. My Dream Law School is York. Glad that you're a fellow Canadian!
That sounds awesome, good luck! :)
I'm so glad, thank you!!
Damn I'm going to be ending high school just to stress myself out for years in Law school :(
Gotta do your undergrad first!
TypicallyTiffany 😍😍😍
Don’t forget that hellish 4 year undergrad! But you can’t limit yourself because school is hard. If you’re being educated for a career you want and are invested in your future and do something you’re interested in, it’s totally worth it
