That was a fun summary, thanks. By the way, are you planning on doing more summaries of philosophy books? I really like this content format of yours and it is great for starting a new book, it feels like reading it after a video like this is more efficient to understand. Comparable to a warm-up.
I really would like an analysis to the works of camus or sartre. I think especially short works like the stranger could fit precisly into such an format. Thus spoke Zarathustra would also be interesting, tho they are more philosophical novells than pure philosophy.
I don’t have a paper I just happened to get into philosophy because I thought it would be fun and then I research on my own time. As a class I thought it was a better use of my time than doing an English class I’m scared of.
Or, 3rd way, you heard the ‘who speaks with the tongue of Apollo’ in TME and it’s from a film that is about the trial of Socrates ane you want to know what it is but not read a Wikipedia article about it.
What sort of philosopher flirts with a statistician anyway...? When reading this, one thing I got from it is the idea that Socrates was trying to get them to be steadfast in their way as he was. Exiling them would have been an easier way out for them, and it would sit better on their collective conscience, but Socrates points out that if they're even considering the death sentence to be a suitable punishment for him, then they'd better have the courage of their convictions, because they can't rely on him to stop or beg for his life. He was sentenced to death, and he still made sure they felt the sting of it more than he did.
reading it Socrates just sounds like a humble bragging troll and I think he messed with the wrong people. oops consequences. not saying it's justified to execute people for going around making them feel like idiots, but I can see why people were pissed at him.
I'm a disabled homebound senior. No money for college but with a great desire to learn. That is why I'm watching and listening to this youtube video.
So Socrates basically says: If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

I have a couple other videos doing quick summaries on books, is there a specific book you had in mind?
