He may not want to do the classroom stuff... but he needs the classroom stuff. There are too many plays where Parsons is out of place or has little effect (even a negative effect) on the play... and as the season goes on, he wears out. Imagine what he would accomplish if he did the extra work?

I agree. He's a liability against the run. It's hard to get better if you're not willing to learn. He could be one of the all time bests, but his unwillingness to grow and learn will hold him back.

Yeah! A lot of that was on Dan Quinn not using Parsons right. Go through the films and break down the schemes and really study what was going on. See most people don’t and when the media talk they go by the first eye test and gossip from that. Then the fans listen and go oh yeah. Well it’s not accurate!

When he loses his athleticism, he won't be playing anymore. Being a DE is different from playing LB, QB, or WR, where brains are almost mandatory. You never hear people talk about the intelligence of a pass rusher ever. Its because at pass rusher, you simply need to have your technique perfected, and your god-given ability will take over.

@@amdtexas9383if he was a full-time LB then you guys would be correct but he plays DE. I have never heard anyone say DLaw was a classroom guy and he has no problems being a force even at an older age. People talk like Micah is the Mike LB. He just needs to know his responsibility on a given play and what the rest of the DL is doing. Who cares if he knows what the backend is doing because they can't do their job if he doesn't do his job.

One other thing to backup Broaddus about Parsons not liking the classroom. Parsons sat out the Covid year for football. Did he sit out of school too? Why go to school for just playing 6-7 games and a 1st round pick is in the bag.

  • @seeknayog7262

Jeff, I would love for you to ask this question to Broaddus: How could cheating in the NCAA impact scouting? Michigan knew what plays were being run on the opposing offense and defense the last 3 years. Are the defensive lineman reacting quicker because they know what is coming? Would this lead to indecision in the NFL and slow reaction? Could a Tight End know exactly where the soft spot is in a defense or exactly who to block because they know the defensive call? How much could all this play into possibly over rating a player? The other side effect is, this harms other players ratings because it makes their opponents look bad.

Being a student of the game is a key to sustained success. It's an unpopular opinion but I think Micah trails off and wears down at the end of the seasons because he doesn't have good play recognition and anticipation. If he can diagnose plays and blocking schemes better he can make plays while staying clean. Instead he just tries to win with athleticism.
Micah, get your head out of your ass and be a student of the game. These meetings, knowing assignments, reading keys, refining the technical aspects, and so on are part of your JOB. You're getting paid millions to do these things so quit being a pouty, entitled social media star and do your damn job.

You know Dez Bryant had god given talent as well and felt the same way about showing up and doing great. But as he gets older that gifted talent is gonna diminish and if dez put in the work into practice and learning every part of being a WR he’d prolly still be on our team lol. I see the same future for Parsons. He can play great just lining up and playing. But imagine how much better he would be if he understood the whole defense and gained chemistry with his guys? There’s no way that going to practice could make him worse? But there is a potential for it making him better right? Idk just my thoughts

Can anybody admit anybody at all that when Micah plays defensive end on a run play he is a liability they throw him around. They run the ball right at him and he can’t do nothing about it because he’s too damn small. Am I taking crazy pills he can rush the passer, but that doesn’t mean anything. If you can’t stop the run he’s one of the main reasons Everyone runs the ball all over us. Does anybody see this? He needs to learn how to play linebacker

The truth of the matter is Micah hasn’t even led the league in sacks. He has faded as the season wears on and hasn’t really performed in the playoffs with any game changing plays. It’s that classroom study and nuances the separate good from elite when it matters. Regardless of what he thinks of himself, I wouldn’t pay 35 million + for 13 or 14 sacks. Dorance Armstrong had 8. Is he a 25 million dollar player? Teams have schemed him and made him irrelevant. I hope he listens to Zim because Micah, whether he believes it or not, has a lot to learn.
