Thanks for putting out these edited versions of the livestream. I always want to watch the interesting bits but don't want togo through the whole stream to find it.
And maybe slap a few slime-balls on there. Not only will it make your car wheels sticky, it will also make them bouncy, though because of that any impact you make will make your car bounce, so yeah. If your car lands on it's wheels, it will bounce from the slime.
also, make sure NOT to use slime GEL (there is a difference, they come from a slime that is native to a different dimension) for heat shields, as it will catch fire and do the opposite. So yeah.
You cannot make a car drive on the ceiling without some sort of wings cause you know... gravity. This is the only way to do it. And it is still a car. With downforce facing up. Like an upside down F1 car XD
Id say wings are just a "thinner" more aerodynamic part. Therefore even a car will gain lift by going forwards...Upside down. And besides formel 1 cars have wings to keep them down on the road. And when the road is upside down. Well then it gets pushed up.
Have you played Rocket League? :D PS, the Lego Saturn V can be held sideways? Wow, that's immense construction, my old 3 piece sci-fi Lego kit use to fall apart all the time! :D
well, its not centrifugal foces, its the airflow that hits the angled wings and deflects as a resistance thats forcing the vehicle downwards, but the way they achieve this is by usein centrifugal forces as the start ramp, indeed.
Aye, but if we were to make segments using centripetal force interspaced by brief flat sections, then driving on the roof is totally a possible thing :)
It's not a myth! The downforce is actually more than enough. They'd just need a redesigned engine that could work upside down, and a special test track to do it on.
Why not use a liquid fuel engine so you can control the thrust, throttle down a bit when going through the loop section to just enough to keep you stuck to the track should give you a bit more control, then go full throttle as you leave the half loop entering the flat "ceiling" section.
This game has quickly become my favorite game's of all time but whenever i try to make a plane with big wings, the wings all seem to flop apart. Could someone please give some advice on how to make the wings more "sturdy"? PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!
im guessing youre unstable because the front and rear axles are very close. the longer the distance between the two the more stablity you get in straight line. like a drag racer. also, your road has pot holes
Definitely not a myth. I think they could potentially drive themselves at about 60mph on the ceiling. They generate that much lift. Hence why F1 tracks have to be super smooth, or they'd rattle their eyeballs out
Why not just reverse the gravity with cheat engine? Can that be done? Would have saved a lot of work, and could have been a nice mirror for the surface-to-orbit 10G video a while back.
How about you just tilt your engine little downwards? Then it should push you more to road. This should keep you in ceiling while you accelerate. Also you dont need so much thrust to keep that there.
I will try it, but I don't have a performant Gaming PC anymore, just this cheap Laptop. So not too big hope for me :) But I'm glad I found your channel (through the Lego Saturn V). I love watching you building these things. I would be happy, if I just get to orbit tho ^^
Matthias Bouillon Based on my experience, KSP is one of the best optimized games in existence. I only get lag when I'm in orbit around bodies with atmospheres with my computer (It refuses to run WAR THUNDER!) so I can't even imagine what's up with your laptop.

oh what a feeling. Rocket car on the ceiling.
If you're gonna drive on the ceiling, make sure not to track mud in.

Yep, that's the kind of thing Jeb would have done.
I'm not sure if that counts as a "car" or just an upside-down glider that happens to have a road above it :P
What's the difference?
Scott Manley it's using air instead of momentum
Spoilers on cars use air, does that make cars with spoilers not cars?

The problem was definitely the rotation of the planet
I love the 'asp in front of things' frame at the very end
I truly believe Scott can build anything in KSP, like seriously anything!
Have you played Rocket League? :D
PS, the Lego Saturn V can be held sideways? Wow, that's immense construction, my old 3 piece sci-fi Lego kit use to fall apart all the time! :D
Yeah, I was really scared for the model for a moment there.
the centripetal force is strong with this one
What are the mods you used
Rudolf Babinsky, alot
I think Scott uses all of them.
Scott uses _all_ the mods!
main one is B9 Aerospace for those giant plates
Saw part of this on Twitter. Wondering if we were going to see the whole thing.
so we cant achieve antigravity but we can avoid 5oclock traffic by driving upside down in a looped sky freeway. centrifugal force everyone!
well, its not centrifugal foces, its the airflow that hits the angled wings and deflects as a resistance thats forcing the vehicle downwards, but the way they achieve this is by usein centrifugal forces as the start ramp, indeed.
Yochanan Ben Yaakov Centrifugal force is not a thing. It's centripetal.
Aye, but if we were to make segments using centripetal force interspaced by brief flat sections, then driving on the roof is totally a possible thing :)
Preach!
I love how flying in KSP feels like swimming in syrup
that thing gets funnier and funnier every time it survives the landing.
The kerbalness of this video is very high
I like how Scott laughs when a kerbal dies at 1:55
Would a wider wheelbase make a difference to steering for this Scott ?
There should be a KSP mod where your kerbals heads explode if there are too many G’s
Three "hulloooo" for the price of one, waow, thanks Scott!
Don't drink and drive, or you'll end up on the ceiling, or flying.
I rly need to buy that Saturn V Lego
I know, and it retailed for $120 bucks, cheap for Lego sets that big. Something tells me the price is going to go up.
W1NT3CH does it fit 3 lego people in the CM?
could you do a video on something like what the rocket does in the intro scene to Borderlands the Pre-Sequel??
New ksp playthrough: planes and flying cars only
9:22 Is this a revisit of the kerbal bottleflip video?
Anyone know what mod is letting him build out in a field instead of in the VAB?
Peter Chick I'd like to know to
Hangar extender
Hanger Extender, likely downloaded using CKAN.
github.com/Alewx/FShangarExtender
Bladmapples, Scott doesn't use CKAN... does he?
Stellar Labs you don't need CKAN, it's just a very useful tool to make things very easy
Is there a way to simulate Breakthrough starshot in KSP? (spacecraft propelled by laser from ground)
6:45 Who else was expecting the entire ramp to explode behind the car?
It'd have been the perfect shot
Anyone know what the brief screenshot at 11:12 is?
+Michael Benitez Elite Dangerous ua-cam.com/video/tN7eZfxCX6s/v-deo.html
[explosions all over ksc, catastrophic failure] - Scott: "Uhkay i thenk weve gut sumthhen that kinda works"
When I first saw the title I thought this was a Rocket League video.
The fizz-x are strong with this one.
It's not a myth! The downforce is actually more than enough. They'd just need a redesigned engine that could work upside down, and a special test track to do it on.
Scott invented Trackmania
Hey Scott, is it possible to convert electricity into momentum like fuel and if so how?
u have to drive on the ceiling
my mom had just wiped the floor and she is gona kill u if u made the floor dirty
How can you build things outside SPH?VAB?
anyone know what mod is allowing him to build put in the field instead of in the VAB?
Wheel physics have been weird in KSP for quite a while now.
What mod are you using to build outside the spaceplane Hangar
Nick Clark hanger extender
If a car is producing that much downforce, you would think they'd reduce it to just what they need to drive upside right to reduce drag.
what mods do I need to make platforms like those?
Why not use a liquid fuel engine so you can control the thrust, throttle down a bit when going through the loop section to just enough to keep you stuck to the track should give you a bit more control, then go full throttle as you leave the half loop entering the flat "ceiling" section.
Pastor Maldonado approves of this.
That asp explorer at the end looks alot like mine
y u no spacebar the launch clamps?
Mod for outside building?
What mod takes off the helmets in atmosphere?
This game has quickly become my favorite game's of all time but whenever i try to make a plane with big wings, the wings all seem to flop apart. Could someone please give some advice on how to make the wings more "sturdy"?
PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!
1. Struts
2. More struts
3. EVEN MORE STRUTS
4. Smaller wings with less parts... and struts.
Thanks for replying mesoth. :)
Enjoy the rest of your day.
I should note though, the car was sticking to the ceiling around 80m/s, which is ~300km/h, so close to formula one top speed... Myth plausible?
what mod lets you edit outside of the SPH/VAB?
what's the music?
im guessing youre unstable because the front and rear axles are very close. the longer the distance between the two the more stablity you get in straight line. like a drag racer. also, your road has pot holes

Formula 1 cars can produce more than 3 times its weight in negative lift so of course it's not a myth. It just hasn't been tried.
5:05 - were you going for an EVA report in freefall? :D
Thought I might have a parachute.
9:23. Next gen bottle flip!!
You need to keep accelerating on the ceiling, the F1 car would also fall off if engine is turned off... or were the wheels driven here?
Yes... And in that case, wouldn't it technically be called "up-force"???
That's why nicole was always led on her back, watching her dad driving on the ceiling... sorry!
a game done right i'd say
scott you should make an F1 car in kerbal space program - which means a car powered by an F1 engine
10:30
speed is 41 m/s. which is 160 km/h and you're still driving on the ceiling. Something's not right here :D
what mods do you use?
scott, you are so great! 😂
9:25 look ma, no wheels!
Oh hey cool! Scott is playing my favorite game; Rocket League!
Wait...
you should of tried to glide on to the top of the track. that would be awesome.
Building outside SPH?? What is this wizardry??
How are you Scott?
Scott calm down on the bitter mate.
reminds me of an old PlayStation game called rollcage. rocket powered card that could drive upside down.
So I am going to guess you do not think an F1 car could drive upside down, if someone was dumb enough to try it XD. Great video.
Who else thought their internet was slow at the beginning lol?
Mods?
Well done!
anyone's ksp crashing on launch? mine does every time
R O C K E T C A R

Why tea? Why not chocolate milk? WHAT HAPPENED TO CHOCOLATE MILK?!?!?!?
Make a mobius strip!!!
that was an amazing vid
dammit I should be studying by now
Lionel Richie
LEGO SATURN FIIIIIIIIIIIIVE
Make a highway to orbit
"Hullo Hullo Hullo"
Scott stole my Lionel Richie joke.
am i old?
Someone should recreate the track from Gorillaz 19-2000, would be awesome!
4:31 LMAO! XD
Kerbal space program... now demonitized!!!
Nice plane flip, bottle flips are for casuals.
9:22 rocket flip challenge
btw Matt lowne used the music at 2:40 in duna attacks (or expedition eve idk)
funny coincidence
Lol you could've wrote ksp in the title xd
Legend has it that if you come early, senpai will respond,
Congrats on 600,000 :)
a shame that the performance of this game is totally garbage. on my laptop it's almost unplayable except for flying through space.
I find the biggest performance improvement you can make with KSP is turning off anti-aliasing, makes a huge diff on many platforms.
I will try it, but I don't have a performant Gaming PC anymore, just this cheap Laptop. So not too big hope for me :)
But I'm glad I found your channel (through the Lego Saturn V). I love watching you building these things. I would be happy, if I just get to orbit tho ^^

mesoth lol, I can play even battlefield 4 in 720p on medium details, but KSP fails hard :D
I've no idea why...
How about you challenge Nvidia with their self driving race cars to try this :D
