Agreed. Individual singers now don't really focus on "technically correct" singing, like a vocal coach would teach and how we were taught to sing in choir. They all have their own style and tone, it comes down to individual preference

This is like comparing apples to pears. I know people like those high belty notes but for me its more important if someone can deliver a song in a way that is believable. Technique is less important than emotion.
Well, when you lose your voice after 10 or 15 years (like Mariah Carey or Christina Aguilera) due to improper and unhealthy technique, I don't think so.
For me emotions is more important. For an artist to sing like its the last song they wud sing not minding her longevity is amazing. I admire artists who pours out not minding her own and just put out the best music they could give

Adele tends to be a bit under the notes once she goes to the top of the 4th octave and upward, but she’s got better technique. I prefer Sis’s style and tone, though.
Like both but I think its kinda hard to judge by setting Adele's mostly slower songs and videos from studio or cameral performances with Sia's concert perfomances with clearly lower quality and acoustics. Like them both. After all I think Sia's voice and songs overall are more powerful, interesting and have more depth.

Great comparison. Both are really on the same boat. They both have questinable techniques. But somehow they are able to hit their high note and pretty consistantly. When you think they are straining or their voice cracked it still sound really good. And ofcourse their unique voice is really what draw people in.

They are completely different in voice and singing at least in the period of the last decade. Because both were was indie and now more pop. Sia is more pop than contemporary, while Adele stayed in pop soul with more classic elements (before the 2000 era). Both are amazing and each song they perform is amazing. sia is updated musically while Adele is not updating or making music at the moment.
Asia's break was caused from years of abuse that she freely admits but she can still sing absolutely flawlessly and has embraced the break which is amazing and adele is just simply brilliant as usual

Me Mameg It wasnt Because of her bad technique. She was smoking and drinking a lot, at the same time she was touring and doing like 3-4 shows per week. Her throat just couldnt get with it, so she did a surgery and now shes fine :) Nothing to do with her technique just didnt take care of it.

I think you already know what I think! :))) Sia is the queen - her voice is a force of nature and and her style is unique and emotional. And she wants to sing like that. If you listen her studio albums, live performances and unreleased songs you'll discover so many Sias, so many vocal effects and emisions, she uses her voice like an instrument and she is doing that for over 20 years now. Her voice is not damaged - this is her voice, this is her raw style and it's wonderful. Talking about Sia's techinque in singing is like talking about Picasso or Dali technique in painting. There are plenty singers with impecable technical skills in every school choir but there are only few real artists - for them conventional rules don't aply, they have their own leagues. But this video isn't fair there's performances of Sia with fully supported notes until C#5. She has also some very clean and clear D5s and effortlessy Eb5s on "Titanium" and "Move Your Body" or others. On Carpool Karaoke, she did hit a F5 a bit strained but not that much. On Chandelier she did hit an E5 with good projection. Not even talking about head voice/falsetto notes from Sia, she's great here. Adèle is better at low notes and jazzy ballads.

I think its because adele sing how every vocal coach teaches you to sing, whereas Sia is just natural and unique and that can't be taught, maybe a little bit of jealousy . i heard in a radio interview with Sia on an album she made, she said she just farted it out because she was told to and she didn't really want to sing anymore, but yet it was filled with bangers!
A tough one for sure. Adele's voice, however, to my ears is warmer, smoother and has a certain velvety quality that just is so pleasing to my ears. And although I love Sia's voice I don't think it's as good as Adele's. If I had to compare them this way, I would say Adele's voice is like a vanilla milkshake and Sia's is like a Sprite soda.

Even if we talk about techniques Adele suffered from a vocal cord hematoma coz of all the strain she puts into her singing while Sia glides through the notes with the cracks and has perfectly intact vocal cords. Sia is magnificent
I think there was bias towards Adele here. For instance, the D5 from Adele at 6:31 is strained and flat, she struggles to reach it. She then fails to correctly execute the melismatic run afterwards because her sense of pitch has been thrown and her voice has tired out. She actually does this quite a lot. I could be wrong but I believe Sia doesn't use auto-tune. A lot of artists who have worked with her have testified to this although she hasn't commented one way or the other.
She doesn't use autotune and people who work with her are mesmerized by her voice. You can find on my chanel what people in industry think about her. She's a powerhouse but Georgina likes Britney Spears, Madonna, Spice Girls more... Real singers, not like Sia, "just" a songwriter.

Sia’s song, “Breathe Me” in incredibly emotional. It was used for the “Six Feet Under” series finale where ***spoiler alert**** All the characters deaths are shown one by one as it flashes forward through the decades. Its not really a spoiler though because we all die at some point. It’s raw & emotional because you’re seeing all these characters you love die one by one with Sia’s haunting lyrics in the background. My husband had his cousin who’s never seen the show watch the finale & she cried! Lol it’s a work of art. Alan Ball creates a masterpiece with that show.

Me Mameg It wasnt Because of her bad technique. She was smoking and drinking a lot, at the same time she was touring and doing like 3-4 shows per week. Her throat just couldnt get with it, so she did a surgery and now shes fine :) Nothing to do with her technique just didnt take care of it.

Some people just can't get that both are at the same level (with Adele being a little bit better because she has better lows, breath support and more vocal agility, whilst Sia has better upper belts and head voice/falsetto. They're kind of equal in mid-belts).

I think you already know what I think! :))) Sia is the queen - her voice is a force of nature and and her style is unique and emotional. And she wants to sing like that. If you listen her studio albums, live performances and unreleased songs you'll discover so many Sias, so many vocal effects and emisions, she uses her voice like an instrument and she is doing that for over 20 years now. Her voice is not damaged - this is her voice, this is her raw style and it's wonderful. Talking about Sia's techinque in singing is like talking about Picasso or Dali technique in painting. There are plenty singers with impecable technical skills in every school choir but there are only few real artists - for them conventional rules don't aply, they have their own leagues. @@talentedwomenonly4604 She knows nothing about big terms in supported or not notes, she isn't trained and don't follow vocal lessons. But this video isn't fair there's performances of Sia with fully supported notes until C#5. She has also some very clean and clear D5s and effortlessy Eb5s on "Titanium" and "Move Your Body" or others. On Carpool Karaoke, she did hit a F5 a bit strained but not that much. On Chandelier she did hit an E5 with good projection. Not even talking about head voice/falsetto notes from Sia, she's great here. Adèle is better at low notes and jazzy ballads.

Honestly, you can kind of tell that she’s a little biased when it comes to Adele because Adele was clearly off on the D5 in All I Ask, yet she gave them both a point. I know it’s not that deep. I’m just saying lol.

I think its because adele sing how every vocal coach teaches you to sing, whereas Sia is just natural and unique and that can't be taught, maybe a little bit of jealousy . i heard in a radio interview with Sia on an album she made, she said she just farted it out because she was told to and she didn't really want to sing anymore, but yet it was filled with bangers!

A tough one for sure. Adele's voice, however, to my ears is warmer, smoother and has a certain velvety quality that just is so pleasing to my ears. And although I love Sia's voice I don't think it's as good as Adele's. If I had to compare them this way, I would say Adele's voice is like a vanilla milkshake and Sia's is like a Sprite soda.
i love them both, as fans of adele we must admit due to her bad technique she overuse, shes already take throat surgery. Its been too long we never see adele sing again, so sad.

Sia is the best! Some of the clips were comparing apples to oranges. There should have been similar moments in the songs to compare.
I think that Adele can do more with her voice but she's always afraid and unsecure, she limits herself. By the other hand, Sia takes risks and I like that. Also, she has a very unique and creative style. Adele doesn't and that's why Adele is so boring. Anyways, both voices are good!
Even if we talk about techniques Adele suffered from a vocal cord hematoma coz of all the strain she puts into her singing while Sia glides through the notes with the cracks and has perfectly intact vocal cords. Sia is magnificent

I think there was bias towards Adele here. For instance, the D5 from Adele at 6:31 is strained and flat, she struggles to reach it. She then fails to correctly execute the melismatic run afterwards because her sense of pitch has been thrown and her voice has tired out. She actually does this quite a lot.
I could be wrong but I believe Sia doesn't use auto-tune. A lot of artists who have worked with her have testified to this although she hasn't commented one way or the other.
She doesn't use autotune and people who work with her are mesmerized by her voice. You can find on my chanel what people in industry think about her. She's a powerhouse but Georgina likes Britney Spears, Madonna, Spice Girls more... Real singers, not like Sia, "just" a songwriter.

I can't believe people assuming Adele is 'technically' better because she sounds smoother with no cracks. Adele just rarely dares to enter where Sia goes because she doesnt have the ability to pull it off without needing yet another surgery, Sia has been hitting those technical Cracks and vocal frys for 10 years longer than Adele with no need for a near career ending vocal cord reconstruction, says something about who has the better technique. Boring and technique are two different things.
Adele's a mezzo-soprano and Sia's a soprano so of course Adele won't have ease entering the range in which Sia sings. You're just a hater who can't stand when someone says Adele is better than Sia.

All the characters deaths are shown one by one as it flashes forward through the decades. Its not really a spoiler though because we all die at some point. It’s raw & emotional because you’re seeing all these characters you love die one by one with Sia’s haunting lyrics in the background. My husband had his cousin who’s never seen the show watch the finale & she cried! Lol it’s a work of art. Alan Ball creates a masterpiece with that show.
