She has roots in gospel but has made a name for herself by competing in many Korean competitions, doing duets with famous American artists, and recording many collabs, personal songs, and soundtracks. She’s pretty much a universally praised and adored living legend in her home country and for good reason. You should really check out some of her performances. She has countless on UA-cam. Not only is she one of the most technically skilled vocalists ever (probably the best alive right now), but she has amazing covers with beautiful, emotive arrangements.

I know the channel Lovato Lover compared the entire ranges of Sohyang, Demi, and Ariana as well as things like agility, transitions, whistle register, breath support, and tone, and Sohyang still won by a very large margin.

I really hope you react to sohyang again!! She’s a tremendous vocalist and a cancer survivor. She sings for the lord, to move and help people. I can’t stress enough how brilliant her technique is. She’s mostly self taught but did receive some training from I believe Micheal Jackson’s vocal coach years ago.
It is actually pronounced: Soiang (korean student here: h's are voiceless in middle of words at the start of a middle syllable, they sound like in English at the beginning of words and at the end of syllables they sound like a t [called "batchim"])

Sohyang is always adding crescendos, diminuendos, vibrato into certain parts of songs, an edgy sound for a more rock like approach, appropriate runs and breathiness as well. Tone is completely subjective.
Because she isn't the honest vocal coach, she is always biased. Demi, Miley and Tori, Mariah are her sweethearts and always get points even if they don't deserve it. But Christina, Celine she is always more critical of.
That said as bland as both of them are artistically and creatively, Demi has SoHyang beat for days as far as that end goes. SoHyang is just impressive, but her voice reminds me of a Disney Princess. NOTHING interesting there.

Rebin Ismail first of all, lows-and mid-belts definitely goes to Mariah, and on the upper belting they’re equal since they’re all supported and resonate in their prime(what I mean by upper belting is E5-G5) and super upper belting(above G5-C#6) goes for Sohyang since Mariah never belted anything above G5, head voice goes to Sohyang as well. Plus breath support should be Mariah since lots of her songs are vocal demanding and the translations between registers are insane so you need very good breath management in order to support those notes. At last, agility definitely belongs to Mariah since she’s one of the most agile singers in the world. Overall they’re pretty equal, but Mariah has more consistency over all the registers that she sings(because she supports all of her head voices during her prime even though they’re not resonate)
Georgina, they are both using a "mix" of chest and head voice. It's physiologically impossible to "belt" that high in pure chest voice. Yes, the ratios in their mixes differ, but they're both indeed using some dimension of their head voice.
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO GETS IT, belting Is pretty much taking mixed voice higher, they are both lyric sopranos, they are already mixing in g4, so you can't say they are not mixed. The difference Is Demi Is chestier. But belting with pure chest would be Christina Aguilera, specially in her debut, that Is pretty much screaming and you can see it límite her range as well.

That's right, but SoHyang sings all her belting range with head voice dominance, which is pretty clear around C-Eb5. When Demi sings it powerfully with almost clear chest voice, SoHyang is quite weak and mushy in this area. The higher she goes, the strength grows because her head dominant mix starts to shine there. On the other hand, Demi keeps chest dominance all the way up which is much harder to keep ease and sustain. It often leads her to strain or miss pitch, but overally it's much more powerful sound.
I don't know, Jessie J is pretty amazing. I'm not even that big a Jessie fan but, y'know. Plus SoHyang is vocally so dull and boring. It's like having a master chef in your home and they make you . . . toast. Sorry, but I'd rather have B+ lobster than A+ toast.
Demi is so great with those notes at the beginning of 5th octave. She can still maintain up to the mid 5th, but again and again, those notes at the top of 5th octave (from G5 and above) is the HOME of the QUEEN! Edit: At that moment when I saw Sohyang with the E5 from Fate comes up, I knew she would win!!! That performance with the orchestra held one of her best Fate performances ever!

Both have great voices. I like Demi's natural tone better. She has such a warm and versatile voice. But her upper register can be super annoying at times though. I also like SoHyang's sweet tone. She sings a lot better in Korean and is technically more polished than Demi. Her upper register and head voice are unvelievable!

Aijaz Ahmed Demi's lows aren't that good and what do you mean by Demi having better musicality? Sohyang is always adding crescendos, diminuendos, vibrato into certain parts of songs, an edgy sound for a more rock like approach, appropriate runs and breathiness as well. Tone is completely subjective.

I love Sohyang but all of them are great singer. Real fans are never jealous of another one, especially when there is a great talent. Sohyang is one of the best pure, emotional and powerful singer I've ever heard and seen. Also Demi must be great singer. Honestly I don't want to compare them.

Rebin Ismail first of all, lows-and mid-belts definitely goes to Mariah, and on the upper belting they’re equal since they’re all supported and resonate in their prime(what I mean by upper belting is E5-G5) and super upper belting(above G5-C#6) goes for Sohyang since Mariah never belted anything above G5, head voice goes to Sohyang as well. Plus breath support should be Mariah since lots of her songs are vocal demanding and the translations between registers are insane so you need very good breath management in order to support those notes. At last, agility definitely belongs to Mariah since she’s one of the most agile singers in the world. Overall they’re pretty equal, but Mariah has more consistency over all the registers that she sings(because she supports all of her head voices during her prime even though they’re not resonate)

Georgina, they are both using a "mix" of chest and head voice. It's physiologically impossible to "belt" that high in pure chest voice. Yes, the ratios in their mixes differ, but they're both indeed using some dimension of their head voice.
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO GETS IT, belting Is pretty much taking mixed voice higher, they are both lyric sopranos, they are already mixing in g4, so you can't say they are not mixed. The difference Is Demi Is chestier. But belting with pure chest would be Christina Aguilera, specially in her debut, that Is pretty much screaming and you can see it límite her range as well.
That's exactly what is said... It is very hard to actually do a full on belt above C#5 and belting above that is damaging to the voice.

That's right, but SoHyang sings all her belting range with head voice dominance, which is pretty clear around C-Eb5. When Demi sings it powerfully with almost clear chest voice, SoHyang is quite weak and mushy in this area. The higher she goes, the strength grows because her head dominant mix starts to shine there. On the other hand, Demi keeps chest dominance all the way up which is much harder to keep ease and sustain. It often leads her to strain or miss pitch, but overally it's much more powerful sound.
Sohyang is untouchable. . incomparable. .

Demi is so great with those notes at the beginning of 5th octave. She can still maintain up to the mid 5th, but again and again, those notes at the top of 5th octave (from G5 and above) is the HOME of the QUEEN!
Edit: At that moment when I saw Sohyang with the E5 from Fate comes up, I knew she would win!!! That performance with the orchestra held one of her best Fate performances ever!

Both have great voices. I like Demi's natural tone better. She has such a warm and versatile voice. But her upper register can be super annoying at times though. I also like SoHyang's sweet tone. She sings a lot better in Korean and is technically more polished than Demi. Her upper register and head voice are unvelievable!

Her vocal choices are safe, she lacks shades of color and tones to make you lean forward. Who cares about perfect stitching if the dress is made of burlap? Who cares about A+ toast when there is B+ or A- Lobster out there?

You are so wrong about So Hyang, she is operatically trained. So much bias in this video. Demi pushes more than So Hyang, there is virtually perfect freedom in her voice, her use of Dynamics destroy Demi's senseless shouting. Demi also has intonation issues.
