Hey has your thermal noctua nt-h1 thermal paste came out of the die after few months?
Нанёс термопасту, поставил всё на место, закрутил, батарею подсоединил, закрыл крышку, открываю ноут, а клавиатура светится, кнопка включения не работает. Помогите пожалуйста 😢

Thanks for making this video,
My Asus had been suffering from overheating issues,
I was reading about thermal paste drying up and people telling me to do regular maintenance, thanks for showing me this.
To anyone who is wondering about the thickness of the thermal pads used for the smaller chips, I spoke to Asus and apparently they're 0.5mm thick.
How about for the tuf505du series?
😚😚😚😚😚😚
I folllowed your tutorial and it went very well! I repasted the GPU and CPU and managed to lower the temps by more than 15 degrees celsius. Thanks
How old was your laptop?
Is it same laptop
Replaced my FX504GM thermal paste to Noctua NT-H1 and got -20celsius on CPU and -15celsius on GPU temperatures. Thanks for Great Video
what were your temps before and after?
My gpu was at 80 celcious , 90 + on specific games. I literally dropped my resolution to 800x600 just to not stress the system. After opening up and following your example to the letter, i can hear my fans shoaring.
The paste from manufacturer was a solid block of gum and allover the place. I meticulously spread paste just to cover the surface evenly and now my gpu is 56celcious tops...
I cannot fathom this, thabk you so much.
Hi, I have a question about what are the dimensions of the screwdriver you used to take out the heat dissipator?
My CPU was running hot on my one year old FX505DT, temps running near 200F during game play. I replaced the thermal grease on the CPU and GPU, now my CPU Temp is about 160F - 170F during game play. Thanks.
If you place in different areas of the heat sink will that be better or will it make it work vice versa and make it worse so that the heat will not be dissipated correctly ??
I'm having problems with the screw not turning because the plus sign + is broken. Is there a way I can turn it or pull it out?
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Very concise and helpful!
hello, i want to ask... what is the small chip located near the battery? is it vga?
Did you apply thermal paste or was there thermal pad on north bridge?
What about the fans themselves? I know the FX-504 has anti-dust technology for the fans, but don't you still want to get in there to check for dust anyway?
Hii, amazing tutorial, but I have a huge problem. At first I didnt have the proper screwdriver so I used the smallest one I had and tried to take out the screw of the heat pipes but I couldn't. Then I bought a set of screwdrivers and finally managed to unscrew them, except the one I had been trying to unscrew, its head was worn out. I still can't unscrew it and the laptop is getting really hot. Is there any way I can take it out? Maybe ASUS can fix it?
The top left and right as screws turn numb (they seem to be stuck or something) and therefore I cannot open it. Do you know how I fan fix this?
Thanks! Helped me to replace my two fans as well! Nice video.
Hi. After I renew thermal paste, I lost the light of the screen but I can use with hdmi. What should I do? I might use paste bad. Could it be because of this?
Wich is the gpu right side or left side from our perspective?
What is the size of heat sink screw? I need to replace it, please reply as urgent.
Should I replace my VRAM paste too? If not, can I put some thermal grizzly on top of it? PLEASE HELP !!
does anyone have idea what is the diameter of the screws in the heatsink?? I sent it for repair and later wanted to change the thermal paste myself and the company destroyed 3 of the screws...
Will the laptop turn on if it is plugged without battery?
I changed the thermal paste like described in the video. But my laptop is not turning on. No charging even if I plug my Charing adapter
I just finished changing the two year old paste, they seemed to have done a terrible job at the factory. I used arctic mx-4. The temps have dropped by at least 10 degrees during load. thanks for the video!

Does it voids warranty? Can i get service from Asus service center? My laptop is currently in warranty period.
How often you need to change thermal paste on gaming laptops?

How it went??
Awesome guide, thanks.
what screw driver size is that?
Hi, I put thermal paste and now my laptop doesnt turn on, what could be gonne wrong?
Thanks for this, I got a colossal 30 degree temperature drop replacing the paste (the factory paste had basically nothing on the contacts)
Hello, did you change the paste from all zones or only from.cpu and gpu?
@@TomySTS Only the cpu and gpu. Good luck with your repair!
Are you kidding me? I've recently noticed that straining my cpu throttles it down to 10-11Watts. Should I consider thermal solutions?
Shantnu Agarwal yeah try it
What paste did you use?
My laptop wont turn on after this
Even my charger led is not turning on (i didn't take my battery cable out before taking out the heat sink is that the problem) plz help plzzzz!!
According to Intel it's better to not spread the paste after applying. "It might be tempting to spread the thermal paste onto the CPU yourself. We recommend letting the pressure from the base-plate or waterblock being installed do it for you. Incorrect manual application can cause air bubbles to form in the paste, which can negatively impact the thermal conductivity"
Super simple guide, seriously helped!
What's the screw size?
Hello, thank you for the guide, but I saw it after I changed the thermal paste without removing the battery, and after finishing, the laptop stopped working. What is the problem and how can it be solved?
Sadly, your motherboard probably died. I made the same mistake not removing battery while replacing the screen and had a spark (short-circuited) which luckly destroyed backlight unit only.
If yours can't even start the bios, then it is the motherboard I assume

Which one is the CPU and GPU? Is the GPU closest to the memory card slot ? With Desktop computers the CPU is easy to locate. I am not familiar with laptop layout and it's components other than Battery, CMOS Battery, Fans, Memory and Hard Drive / SSD, and heat pipe. I need to replace a noisy fan, think it has a bad ball bearing, so I need to know which one they consider being GPU or CPU side. Why did you not replace the thermal paste on the other components as they seem important too. This would of been the perfect time to install another memory module for Dual Channel (2 x 8GB) and replace the slow Hard Drive with a SSD as you could use a program like EaseUS Partition or EaseUS Todo Backup to clone the Hard Drive operating system / Windows 10. It would greatly improved your laptop performance with those two upgrades. You did very well on the video. Thank you.
i've removed the thermal interface of video chips, is there any problem ? should i put the thermal pads there ?
was there a problem?
Thx, and hello from Russia!)
Есть смысл покупать ноутбук? Я так понимаю он дико греется и без этой процедуры ничего не поделать?
Greetings, My laptop screen seam came apart near the hinge. I can send you a picture if it helps. I tried locktite and gorilla, but they both failed from me opening and closing it everyday. Do you have advice which glue I should use? Also, would you suggest I treat the plastic with anything? Can I drill a hole there and insert a wire for strength?
This is a manufacturing defect in the tuf series. I had the same problem and since i used glues like you they didnt replace my screen under warranty.
Having the same issue currently. Did you find any solutions to the problem?
@@arpitsahu9940 I ended up drilling a 2mm hole in the corner and wraped a wire through to hold the parts together. Then I put command strips around the outside. Extremely unellegant but its worked ever since. Believe me when I say I tried every glue imaginable with no luck.

Hi can i use on this laptop asus fx503vm a Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut metall paste ?
No, don't do it. There is no IHS on the Die, so you might shorten the life span of your CPU and GPU by using a liquid metal because of its corrosive properties.
yesu can i just replecedin my old gaming lenovo Z 50 75
I think replacing the Chips thermal paste with thermal pads would be better,
do you agree?
Can you please show the procedure for opening fan compartment? My fx504 is throttling like hell. Can't even play cs go! I think i need to clean the fan compartment thoroughly but can't find any instruction about that online!!
If the fan doesn't work correctly, cleaning will not help. It is better to replace the fan with a new one.
Dude I also faced same problem by performing undervolting both CPU and GPU it fixed my problem.
do you have a video of how to remove the fans? i accidentally banged the side of my laptop with my mouse the other day and the right fan has been making it a weird grind noise . i completely cleaned out the vans with a air compresser and vacumn and sprayed a hint of lubricant in there but its is still making the faint grind noise, nothing seems to be rubbing on it and nothing is caught in there from what i can see but im hesitant on removing the fans because it looks complicated
never, ever clean your PC with a vacuum.
@@Gedas_Ke i ended up replacing the fan its fine now, used the vacumn nothing bad happened
@@dukenukem7043 that's good to hear, but in the future I would avoid using a vacuum, compressed air is more than enough to clean dust and is safer for the hardware. cheers!
How about Asus tuf fx504 How to replace gpu/cpu fan ? since mine is not working properly thank you
my asus tuf fx504 crash the whole time
@@lukaskerner5752 And it will, always. Unfortunately TUFs' cooling system is so under engineered, they are thermal throttling all the time. This means your BIOS is limiting your CPU and GPU clockspeed in order to avoid sever overheating. I almost bought a TUF for myself, but after reading the reviews and watching few disassembly videos, I have rather chose a ROG series laptop, which has the same CPU and GPU as a TUF, but built with a much more heavy duty cooling system.
Can someone tell me the thickness of the thermal pads? I wanna replace them but idk which one should i get because the ones were total disaster
The thermal pads are 0.5mm thick
Hi there, thanks for the video, I just changed the thermal paste of my FX503VM yesterday (with some MX-4)for the first time and it runs way better, plus I undervolted the CPU with Throttlestop which helped too!
I have a question though: do you know what is the thickness of all the different thermal pads? I'd really like to change them, but have no idea which one to choose from 0.5mm to 3mm....
did you replace the thermal pads?

i Have a new tuf fx505dd ( 3 months old ) who heats up even on idle , should i replace thermal paste ? and does that void warranty ?
It's better to replace the laptop. I've got FX505DU as well and I'm very disappointed with it. Asus is no longer a reliable manufacturer for me. It's a pity I wasted money on it and used my previous experience with Asus to make a buying decision, unfortunately today Asus is a way different than was 5-6years ago.

Asus says they're 0.5mm thick
@@scarecrow234 Hey , Did you put 0.5mm thermal pads on the VRAM ? How did it go ?
Hello and thanks for this video. I have bought the Asus TUF FX505DV laptop a few days ago and I am very disappointed by now. The bios is a mess, very basic, no options to define fans curve, also the armoury crate app does not allow to create an individual profile for relation between cooling-silence-performance. I realized by use of gpu-z, which shows gpu and pcu temperature, that the cpu works at over 80 °C (celsius) up to 91 measured highest temperature in Gaming turbo mode. That was a little shock for me, at first because I never saw a higher cpu temperature vs. gpu temperature and also because it should be a life time reducement for the laptop. AMD tells about ryzen 5 3550H cpu the hard cap temp. would be 110 °C but thats not far from 90 °C. So I ordered now a cooling Pad for the table and also liquid metal paste, but I feel a little fucked by ASUS because I do the work they should had done (optimising the machine to 24/7 propper functionality. I still payed for that shit…
Problem is in my opinion the missing Ventilation input. I can try out the cooling pad, but where it should push the fresh air? There is not eneugh entry. The most I expect will bring the liquid metal paste. But it will not bring more than 5-10 degree I think. Will it?
My question to you: Could you also realize higher cpu temperatures, because the cooling and case holes look like work the same (btw I have added second 8GB RAM and a hdd, could might be a little raise of temperature in this).
best regards,
Johannes
