Plus those are few and far between while the problems with official have permeated nearly every game on them in my experience.
im a new player but i learned if you run in a zig zag, especially as a small dino while being chased, you have a higher chance at escaping your enemy because it might cause them to lag AND make them miss numerous times
When I just joined the game, I didn’t know how to play but when someone ran after me i hid beside the tree. Luckily they lost me and i felt so lucky hehe, it’s a nice feeling.
Another trick is to let your dino get hungry until you get the "find food" quest on which completion you get an additional amount of growth and 50 marks. If you have enough marks apply increased metabolism to your dino so it becomes hungry faster!
I do that too. Only problem was when my game glitched out and wouldn't tell me where any food was so I was frantically searching for bushes while my health started draining. Luckily I found food before my health ran out completely but boy was it a close call, very stressful OTL
I would say the scavenger ability isn’t worth it for me since your water drain is a btxch I do not want to be refilling water every 10-15 mins or not be near water and drink salt water and you can’t go 5 feet away from water.
I dont do this. I keep my hunger and thirst up and near full bc I can outlast bored trolls if they try to ambush me or try to wait me outside my homecave.
One thing I found very helpful is that when you’re a baby and you see a potential threat in the distance, then crouch and find a nearby bush to hide in. Crouching quiets your footsteps, and the bushes will completely conceal you if you’re a baby, or if you’re a small dino. If you’re bigger in size, then being in the bushes is still better than being out in the open. Hiding in the bushes is also good if you want to lay down and recover health and/or stamina without being seen.
If you're a baby dino, you can hide in critter burrows. Simply crouch and slowly walk in through the entrance where critters come out. To get out, simply go out the way you came in. If going forward doesn't work, turn around, use percise movement, and walk backwards. BEWARE: You won't be able to fit into critter burrows / may get stuck inside them once you reach a certain size. For small creatures, this'll be around late adolescent to sub. For mid tiers such as concavenator, this'll be around late juvenile. And for the bigger creatures such as sucho and rex, they can't fit in a burrow at all after reaching juvenile. The best part is that non-baby players can't fit in burrows, AND digging out the critter doesn't boot you out of the burrow
Yeah that's a dangerous move. Because sleeping while chatting means you are at your most vulnerable and you'll be unaware of your surrounding, as your screen shows the chat screen.
I just started playing this game 2 days ago. These videos have been so helpful in learning the game. Day one was stressful, but playing today after watching a few of these videos, the gaming experience has been much better, so thank you! I met one friendly person today, and it made the game so much better to be in a pack. So if anyone wants to hang and help me grow my juvenile Sarco, let me know!
Im new about to start today and i got this just to play as sarco haha i gotta grind on some other guy first though. Anything to say to a hopeful sarco main?
Idk if I'm late to put this, but they had added a homecave debuff when you go near it so people can't camp, I'm not sure if it impacts attacks/dmg. But it's makes you- REALLY slow. They also added before you leave homecave a message will pop up saying: "No one is near homecave do you want to leave?" Just wanted to put this small update here :D
For hotspots in gondwana is: young grove, green hills, big quilt lake, triad falls, sometimes crater impact and hunters thicket. Any home cave in those spot are camped by mix packing groups, sarcos, spinos, suchos and ducks by any near by water source too.
I noticed that (at least on console) you can also press the rest/chat key to cancel the noise you make from text chat, so you don't always have to have something in your mouth for silent chatting if you're quick enough. It works better for dinos with longer roars.
And I have a couple rexes on official servers, and yeah, experienced a lot of ambush kosing from other people, especially with mix packs that have their own T. rex players too.
I ALWAYS trust too fast.. the other day.. there was a juvenile allo, I was juvi meg. He did lay down to symbolize being friendly. I did the same. Guess what, his allo friend attacked from behind. I ran.. got stuck at a rock and they killed me😂
i was killed in official servers about 3-5 times before i quit them and went to community joined new beginnings and having fun learning the game with nice players
If I do the crouch cease fire I’m not gonna kill other players. I’m not gonna play dirty and bait them like that. I hate it when people act friend then turn around and jump you.
One tip if u have a farm place on the map like the place that he is recording, have a small fast dino like a megalania (i dont grow it to be easier to hide) to scout to see if theres any danger around before logging on your main dino I avoided death so many times thanks to this
My first dino was a rex, I died maybe like 4 or 5 times my entire journey between baby and adult. Mostly just kept to myself, occasionally I would join a carno group but usually just stayed away from the hotspots and did just fine. Most of the dinos I ran into away from the hotspots were also my size so they usually kept their distance.
People who just straight up Kill on sight in mist are the fcking worst. All it took for my Goose to be killed after surviving onslaught after onslaught of Pachy's, Carnivores etc to take me down was a player exploiting stam regen and attacking me out of nowhere giving me no chance to retaliate and costing me and my friend quest progress, mix packing a**holes.
Another piece of advice which may not be for everyone I learned combat way faster joining a deathmatch server where you lose nothing when dying and yes it and be toxic but there’s a lot of 1v1 opportunities and you can get fighting tips from players while 1v1 it’s good practice and really helped me gain some muscle memory on fighting with certain Dino’s without all the panic involved for example I learned para combat styles on death match and when I got on community server I was more confident and my small herd fought off apexes such as gigas rexes spinos and sarcos even killed a few of them before practicing the combat alot I was so nervous to actually jump in and fight so deathmatch servers for me helped with that 😊
I do these servers as well. Got a little more confidence and idea of how combat works, especially on console. Now when I`m attacked I`m thinking; "you may get me but you`re gonna work for it" Plus it helps you take some of the anger out from people killing your babies.
From my experience, PoT brings out more bad in people than good. Nowadays you're just as likely to encounter jerks in the chat/game as friendly folks. Hence why precautions like these must be taken. I try to be social and helpful but I've seen my fair share of cruel and cunning players.
I love it when people jump me on my stego. For some reason I'm better at fights on my stego over my carnivores. My stego is still growing but so gar I've fought off a conc and a Meg. Both were trying to kill me, but they realized they made a mistake and ran off. It's a rewarding feeling when you realize that your opponent bit off more than they can chew and they flee.
Playing as Deinonynchus here, but I tried T-Rex and found out about fall damage. As a Deinonynchus you can jump from rocks and be fine, but T-Rex dies, so it's harder for me to move around (Android player).
Your videos have been helpful I just bought the game , I just did the things you said not to do , What I learned was not everyone we’ll attack you if you don’t act aggressive, I just give a small roar , I like to act like a real Dino , I am a trex , and the roars are scary thank you Ps about the trex thing I well keep that in mine
When I get a Way Stone invite from a random player,I always except it. The only difference is I just waste their time and continue questing, making them think I'm gonna teleport.
Hi, I wish you would download an explanation to solve the problem of the community servers. Literally, I can only enter one server. The rest of the servers tell me that you cannot enter. The server used is old. Who has a solution to the problem. I play on the PlayStation.
Played as a Rex for First Dino, hated every second of It and i hate It even once i became an adult, you Just walk and try slaughter untill a group of midtiers/apexes bully you
Hey my daughter plays this game and play as a big dino, she was post ¾ full on her yellow bar and changed her dino from male to female. This started the her process all over again, hours of game time deleted
I went straight for spoon when I got the game. was a decent experience since I could run to water. Rex and Eo were nightmares to grow though, and I only grew those recently.
He was absolutely spot on about the Rex. I was about to pull my hair out trying to grow that thing. Questing for hours trying to grow, just to get player killed, and lose most of it. I finally got it to adult, got killed within minutes afterwards, and was knocked back down to sub adult, which I didn’t even know was possible. Which is where he sits, because I was just over it. Ended up making a kentro, and played as it ever since once I learned how effective it is at taking down predators. Most won’t even try to go after it, and the ones that do usually back down after a couple tail swings and they realize how nasty that bleed build up is 🤣. Plus I like that it’s fast, and I can get away easily if needed.
6. After buying every ability, buy a skin that could HELP you, not some colourful one so that everyone within 20km can see you, buy a green one (depending on where you are most of the time)
The part where he says don’t pick an apex as ur 1st Dino is so facts, when I got the game I chose sarco as my 1st one and man did I regret it it was so difficult it was giving me a bad 1st impression on the game so I decided to grow other things 1st like megalania and I got more of a feel then later on I went back and finished my sarco
Hotspots in Gondwa, based on my observation, are Crater, Green Valley, Hunter's Thicket (common baby spawn), and Big Quill Lake. Avoid those if you want to have a chill experience in raising a dino.
100% agree on the not choosing an apex, and not trusting anyone, even (in fact especially not) your own species. Any herbivores wandering about without a care looking like a tasty snack, beware, chances are if they’re being overly cocky or aggressive, if you engage, you’ll get broadsided by something way scarier that was waiting for you to take the bait. Good thing about the meadow is you’re guaranteed 3 quests (though still need to be cautious of people camping at the bee hive tree or sarcos under the lakeweed), nearby food and water, plenty of visibility, and a few places to take cover to avoid being seen, whereas spined lizard lagoon very often has quest points guarded by large herds and very often becomes a bloodbath. Never assume just because you’re small, no threat and minding your own business that you’re safe either, you’re just as likely to be stamped on by a ceratopsian as swallowed by a Rex.
Yea I’m sub adult sarco and a adolesent duck who new he was smaller than me and he attacked me so he was tail riding then cornered himself and I killed him
Welp I already did one thing wrong lol since I started with a Rex haha but barely made it to sub adult tho but I always died by them damn trikes but then again everyone in general 😢
1 call till banned from community server. Check. Start in impact crater, check. Ignore all invites, even those from real friends, check. Grow 8 hour modded Argentinosaurus first, check. Log out in bushes, there is no home cave on my community server xD - check Serious note. I don't use calls, ever, even after I murder someone's face in. Even though a roar establishes dominance. I found some areas of the map that are pretty hit or miss at the moment. Sometimes I see no one all day, sometimes there are roaming gank duos looking for new / solo players. I have no friends on this game, so I just ignore invites right now. I don't see any real need to group up, unless I start playing herbivores. The server I play on is Semi Realism. So group restrictions for carnis is pretty tight. Funny enough first thing I grew was a spinosuarus. I love that dino. My favorite thing from ARK. Oddly enough I saw no other players while I grew it (server was always 100+ players). I am enjoying the mid tier dinos more though. Slow ones are so painful for maneuverability. If I had to give a tip as a new player. Find a good community server to play on. With rules. Then get to know the other people on that server, most of them you will see very often. You could make some cool friends along the way. The game is a lot more fun with just 1 other person in your team.
I know you have covered this game a lot over the last year. For someone looking at the game and using your videos to "scout" or check the game out before buying, would you still recommend the game now after all your hours of playing?
Yes defiantly it’s one my favourite games tbh. I can get a bit burnt out growing dinos with the collecting etc but it’s one I never uninstall and always come back to well worth the money.
a youtuber once said metriacanthosaur is the best for start so i played as the dino but he is bad like i was sub adult and a juveline stegosaur killed me
I played earlier. I was a juvy trex and WALKED right by giant adult predator. I even yelled at him, bro looked at me and kept walking. Cool experience!! Lol!!
Hi new player and funny you mention not trusting anyone I was lucky and got one who saved me for no reason, I was walking around doing quest, and past by a river where a carnivore just attack me and right beside me just so happen to be a full on adult herbivore, who just came to my aid like a boss. Mind you I was a t rex who was still a child he had no reason to do what he did, and just went in and saved me scaring off the predator and just protecting this helpless baby t rex. Like literally getting between me and the predator, roaring and stomping, to get him to leave after that saved I just followed him around for a bit, he killed some of the small creatures in burros for me when I was hungry, and even help me do some of my quest, I felt like I was playing some kind of family dinosaur movie scene, cause as we go up a hill a smaller herbivore comes up and hang around with us for a bit
lol one time a carni was trying to get people to go to TF and was saying "I'm a helpless herb in triad falls" and i said it's prob a trap and they said "hot single herbs in your area" and that was the funniest stuff ever
Bro grassland crater and g.lake ain’t just some left side of the map 😬. It is secretly a hotspot in official servers. Second best population after big lake.
Corpse lake is always decent in popularity, I even shared a kill with 2 sarcosuchus and 2 allosaurus. Scary trying to figure out if they're gonna jump me lol

Something to add on to making noise when you use chat. If you lay down and sleep, you won’t make noise. It’s a good time to rebuild stamina/chat.
I'm always on if interested, usually solo but am willing to try groups lol bet it makes the game tons more enjoyable
Hey let me know your player info, I'll be glad to help you grow your sarco, it's not an easy journey
I'm gonna get this game tomorrow. If the offer still stands Id like to join a pack lmao
Im new about to start today and i got this just to play as sarco haha i gotta grind on some other guy first though. Anything to say to a hopeful sarco main?
always check the water for sarcos and listen to hear them charge bite.
Idk if I'm late to put this, but they had added a homecave debuff when you go near it so people can't camp, I'm not sure if it impacts attacks/dmg. But it's makes you- REALLY slow.
They also added before you leave homecave a message will pop up saying:
"No one is near homecave do you want to leave?"
Just wanted to put this small update here :D
For hotspots in gondwana is: young grove, green hills, big quilt lake, triad falls, sometimes crater impact and hunters thicket. Any home cave in those spot are camped by mix packing groups, sarcos, spinos, suchos and ducks by any near by water source too.
DEFINALLY IC
Let's cool down on the KOSing term. Very hard in game to know exactly what's a KOS, who's hungry, or who has a quest to hunt herbs for example.
I only ever used kos on herbivores who killed me as a herbivore.
I ran.. got stuck at a rock and they killed me😂
JUST happened to me....
i was killed in official servers about 3-5 times before i quit them and went to community joined new beginnings and having fun learning the game with nice players
Nice what server I need to now I’ve been fucker over so many times on official server
@@charlesbox5410 new beginings
Gamingbeaver got me interested in the game but you are teaching me the game. Your videos are very helpful.
Do not ever trust the water.
If I do the crouch cease fire I’m not gonna kill other players. I’m not gonna play dirty and bait them like that. I hate it when people act friend then turn around and jump you.
There actually is a pop up now that will tell you if there are players near the home cave and the area around it is fairly decent sized
One tip if u have a farm place on the map like the place that he is recording, have a small fast dino like a megalania (i dont grow it to be easier to hide) to scout to see if theres any danger around before logging on your main dino
I avoided death so many times thanks to this
I love my Meg but for scouting I prefer the bird (on gondwa)
Another piece of advice which may not be for everyone I learned combat way faster joining a deathmatch server where you lose nothing when dying and yes it and be toxic but there’s a lot of 1v1 opportunities and you can get fighting tips from players while 1v1 it’s good practice and really helped me gain some muscle memory on fighting with certain Dino’s without all the panic involved for example I learned para combat styles on death match and when I got on community server I was more confident and my small herd fought off apexes such as gigas rexes spinos and sarcos even killed a few of them before practicing the combat alot I was so nervous to actually jump in and fight so deathmatch servers for me helped with that 😊
I need to look into this ❤
I do these servers as well. Got a little more confidence and idea of how combat works, especially on console. Now when I`m attacked I`m thinking; "you may get me but you`re gonna work for it" Plus it helps you take some of the anger out from people killing your babies.
Spino is great as beginner. Its so easy to avoid many dinos. By staying near The water
From my experience, PoT brings out more bad in people than good. Nowadays you're just as likely to encounter jerks in the chat/game as friendly folks. Hence why precautions like these must be taken. I try to be social and helpful but I've seen my fair share of cruel and cunning players.
I will NEVER even consider tyrannosaurus, I despise everything about that dino
its so uglyyyyy😭😭
As a dino or in the game?

I love it when people jump me on my stego. For some reason I'm better at fights on my stego over my carnivores. My stego is still growing but so gar I've fought off a conc and a Meg. Both were trying to kill me, but they realized they made a mistake and ran off. It's a rewarding feeling when you realize that your opponent bit off more than they can chew and they flee.
Yeah a lot of it comes down to the skill of the player a lot of players will try it until they get bitten or whacked good
Also 1 for beginners, always safe log (wait 1 min and then log)
They need to rework the XP system. It's just too much grind imo
I thought about this! But in the Isle game, you dinosaur dies permanently. So losing some growth seems better by comparison lol
2:49 the international minecraft sign of peace
Go inside the home cave instead of using the stone outside it. Saved my life countless times.
tbh its very rare for me to find anyone to kill, befreind or add to the pack
Playing as Deinonynchus here, but I tried T-Rex and found out about fall damage. As a Deinonynchus you can jump from rocks and be fine, but T-Rex dies, so it's harder for me to move around (Android player).
100% accurate on all of these points! Especially the "friendly" invites.
Made the hot spot quest mistake, some a**hole spinos killed me mid quest. I also trusted one person as a baby dino, damn poopy face tried to kill me.
Bro I JUST FINISHED THE TUTORIAL AS A TREX AND GOT SPAWNED BUY 2 TRIKES AND A SARCO AND INSTANTLY THEY All CAME AFTER ME
First Dino I grew was the flyer, really good for questing and traveling, but not pvp.
I recommend this one for beginners tho
Your videos have been helpful I just bought the game , I just did the things you said not to do , What I learned was not everyone we’ll attack you if you don’t act aggressive, I just give a small roar , I like to act like a real Dino , I am a trex , and the roars are scary thank you
Ps about the trex thing I well keep that in mine
I need a guide to tell you how to understand different calls because I can’t recognize what someone is trying to tell me ;-;
The most important lesson is: know how to hide and see other players before they see you.
When I get a Way Stone invite from a random player,I always except it. The only difference is I just waste their time and continue questing, making them think I'm gonna teleport.
Pure gold 🤣🤣🤣
Hi, I wish you would download an explanation to solve the problem of the community servers. Literally, I can only enter one server. The rest of the servers tell me that you cannot enter. The server used is old. Who has a solution to the problem. I play on the PlayStation.
Played as a Rex for First Dino, hated every second of It and i hate It even once i became an adult, you Just walk and try slaughter untill a group of midtiers/apexes bully you
I think Ano has quickly become my most hated dinosaur. Rex are easy to avoid but anos just keep chasing to the end of time. 😂 So frustrating.
I have an adult anodontosaurus
@@rickycoverrubias6176 good for you?
@@Mr.Skits94 you stated something as do I. Don't be a bich about it
noob question do you only see skins on adults?
I totally fell for the "friendly players"
I play on PC, but the precise controls suck on PC. How can I remap the game controller keys for a USB controller? The don't seem to remap.
What does "tick rate" mean. It's an attribute of servers on the multiplayer "server list".
Also finding a bush to sleep in you can sit/lay down and go into sleep mode to not growl too.
6. After buying every ability, buy a skin that could HELP you, not some colourful one so that everyone within 20km can see you, buy a green one (depending on where you are most of the time)
Is it mixpacking if I protect carno juvis if I'm a herb? Or if I'm a carno protecting herb juvis?
The part where he says don’t pick an apex as ur 1st Dino is so facts, when I got the game I chose sarco as my 1st one and man did I regret it it was so difficult it was giving me a bad 1st impression on the game so I decided to grow other things 1st like megalania and I got more of a feel then later on I went back and finished my sarco
Hotspots in Gondwa, based on my observation, are Crater, Green Valley, Hunter's Thicket (common baby spawn), and Big Quill Lake. Avoid those if you want to have a chill experience in raising a dino.
Is it mix-packing if you have multiple different carnos if you are a carno or different herbs in your group if your a herb?
Yea I’m sub adult sarco and a adolesent duck who new he was smaller than me and he attacked me so he was tail riding then cornered himself and I killed him
I can’t play community or multiplayer because its saying that I need a upgrade. But How do I install this upgrade?
Welp I already did one thing wrong lol since I started with a Rex haha but barely made it to sub adult tho but I always died by them damn trikes but then again everyone in general 😢
Same here I am making the same mistakes as you lol
You can also start out on single player mode just to get a hang of the controls and way of the game.
1 call till banned from community server. Check.
Start in impact crater, check.
Ignore all invites, even those from real friends, check.
Grow 8 hour modded Argentinosaurus first, check.
Log out in bushes, there is no home cave on my community server xD - check
Serious note.
For begin is better carno or herb?
My first dino was the Deinonychus, since I think they are hella cool
love the fact that i have 2k+ hours on pot but i'm still here looking at the video 😂😂
I've grow a t rex my first time 😂i was brave but it took one month when i was a beginner
i would just like a list where the deinonychus is near the top (not speed)
subbed
does this game have a hardcore mode where if u die u restart?
a youtuber once said metriacanthosaur is the best for start so i played as the dino but he is bad like i was sub adult and a juveline stegosaur killed me
Is it smart to start as a giga?
My first time going on officials both my Spinosaurus spawned at LBM and I didn’t get killed once in 3 hours of questing and roaming.
I never use the waystone for anything other than the quest for when you first get out of the tutorial.
I played earlier. I was a juvy trex and WALKED right by giant adult predator. I even yelled at him, bro looked at me and kept walking. Cool experience!! Lol!!
Play an aquatic like Eurhino or Kai if you wanna grow in relative peace.
Ive seen herbs camp/attack by the cave entrances, most trex players ive seen have been chill
Definitely don’t get attacked by them as much as the darn spinos. I swear those players think they have to fight literally everything.
My first dino was a thal and I quickly discovered ppl assumed I was annoying.
lol one time a carni was trying to get people to go to TF and was saying "I'm a helpless herb in triad falls" and i said it's prob a trap and they said "hot single herbs in your area" and that was the funniest stuff ever
Bro grassland crater and g.lake ain’t just some left side of the map 😬. It is secretly a hotspot in official servers. Second best population after big lake.
Depends on the server. Most of the times it’s dead for me lol
Corpse lake is always decent in popularity, I even shared a kill with 2 sarcosuchus and 2 allosaurus. Scary trying to figure out if they're gonna jump me lol

Sharptooth Marsh

#1 thing NOT to do: DON'T PLAY OFFICIAL, THE GROWTH RATES ARE INFURIATING.
Primordial Tyrants is an excellent no rules server.
Maybe it's just me, but the growth rate is fine. Maybe we've gotten too impatient with games lately, but it adds to the real feeling of growing a dinosaur tbh.
Crazy how much this game changed in a year 🤧
