Haha I love this comment. Thanks so much for the validation. Sweaters are SOOO much better. I feel like sock yarn is a great souvenir buy when traveling and then I’d be more motivated to make some socks haha
Wow! So glad I came across your podcast! Great info on the different yarns - Thank you! I love your knitting too - so pretty! Merry Christmas and hugs from Texas! Looking forward to seeing more of your podcasts and your beautiful knitting!
Thank you so much! I am so glad to have you here! Planning a full yarn stash tour coming up and lots of other really fun project! Merry Christmas from us in PA! I’m jealous of your weather haha
I’m knitting a sweater with the Lucky Brand yarn. It is wonderful to work with and soft. A great alternative to Rowan wool cotton yarn. Definitely buying more.
I enjoyed your budget ideas. Just an fyi, I am conscious of budget and have found that “Wool Warehouse” is the Most budget friendly I have found. It comes from England but the shipping is around 6 pounds to the US. Or might even be free….. I love Drops yarn and they are a supplier. Check out prices and availability, but remember that you need to change pounds to $. Still worth it.
Look at highlighter marker pens. Those are neon colors. What you have there looks like a coral pink, not a neon shade. Your sweater looks great. You may have long arms, that's possible. Just measure them (and jot down the numbers) so you will know what lengths you need to knit sleeves for full length, bracelet length and 3/4 length moving forward! Happy making!
Haha true I may have over exaggerated I was just expecting a very soft coral and this was extreme for my tastes and expectations 🫣 Great tips! I definitely want to get in my makers note book all those details, maybe even a personalized schematic.
@EmmaLarissa oh I get it 😊 It can be a crap shoot when we choose colors online. But I think it's fabulous that you highlight so many affordable yarns. I love Knit Picks and Purl Soho yarns as there are so many choices and the colors in a lot of the lines on both sites are amazing.
Your salty days is gonna go so fast. I have the body done on mine but have been hibernating since I started the sleeves. I got a mod for the sleeves from a KAL I was doing for the sweater and it brings the patterning onto the sleeves and I’m hoping that’ll make them go faster.
I cannot wait I’m so obsessed with it I have the back yoke nearly done!! I saw that mod in Morgan and Hayley’s KAL! I wanted so badly to join their KAL! You’ll have to let me know if you’re happy you did the patterned sleeves
Drops seems to make quality yarns with good value. Lindehobby is a great resource for Drops. I don’t care for the quality of Knit Picks yarns. I have stopped using Superwash yarns because they do not behave like wool after the chemical wash and then being coated with a polymer plastic resin. Give me a good worsted spun (tighter, smoother twist) merino any day and I’m happy.
I hear you! I go back and forth but haven’t really made anything from superwash so I’m keen to try!! I don’t like the coating idea for sure… Do you have a favorite merino?? I really want something that can be worn next to skin without mohair but be somewhat durable. I hear good things about drops daisy so want to try that asap!
Please understand that patterns can not predict the length of every knitters’ arms. We have to measure/compare lengths of bodies and arms against sweaters that fit us and try them on.
SAME!! Earth tones and neutrals please and thank you 😂 yes thankfully I can, I have to pay return shipping which I’m ok with and am reordering knit picks swish worsted in shortbread I think.. still torn between a couple warm browns too 😂 so hard to pick i want them all
@@EmmaLarissa Happy Holidays, that's great you were able to return the yarn. I really like the hat you made your little one, great idea with the two yarns .🎄🎄

Me too! I’ll have a hard time picking 😂
No regrets. Knit what you love. I’ve been knitting for 6 years and I still haven’t made a pair of socks. Sweaters are better!

Where do you get your drops yarn?
This is from lindehobby.com I find they have good prices and options and shipping. But I hear you can also get it from wool warehouse!

Yes I am discovering this! I must have much longer than average arms I’ll definitely be doing better sleeve math going forward!
ugh neon, literally on my Ravelry listed as the colors I don't like. Sorry that happened to you can you return the yarn?
