so very interesting next time I am out in the woods I will have something else to take note of never new half of this thanks for sharing your knowledge, Just came across your Channel and watched your walk and wild camp on the Rhinogs, What a fantastic Area it is, I did a wild camp there at Llyn Du in july had fantastic weather, think I may have been spoilt as every one who ventures out there seams to get wet and windy weather, I Must return again, I am late in life to have started wild camping But I love it, Take Care Nigel, Les, OH and I have subscribed and hope to see moor soon ATB.
Very interesting! Olly Outdoors recommended I check it out. I’ve been reading Tristan Gooley’s book Of Outdoor signs and clues. Completely agree it does get addictive!
The Wild Native Thanks. Yes his books are great. I haven’t managed to read a whole one as yet! I’m out a lot teaching map reading and found the best thing is to observe and work things out. As soon as I can I’m going to make a journey across the forest with a small scale map and natural navigation.
Very informative video!
And what a fantastic February day for a birthday walk and lunch in the forest.
Very interesting. Great to know all these little tips and tricks to navigating without staring at a compass.
Thanks Olly. It’s getting addictive! I’m now out constantly looking for other clues and some will be appearing as the spring develops.

ThanksLes - We were going to go to the Rhinogs but with the forecasted rubbish weather went to the Black Mountains instead.
Thank you. I’d had a dodgy back for a few weeks so I was keen to get out and explore. The sunshine was a perfect.
