When I began my Sn3 layout some years ago I drew a great deal of inspiration from Bill's layout which was featured in the model railroad magzines, and by PBL who produce the Sn3 locos and rolling stock. Only the very best layouts get that kind of treatment and that shows the high regard in the hobby for Bill's work.
Yes he is quite well known. He also drew inspiration from the late Paul Scoles Sn3 layout which was also incredible. I saw his layout in Seattle before he passed away and Paul was also an amazing model railway craftsman as well.
Hi Dana, yes it is ! I’m a keen model train man and this is pure artistic talent and attention to detail! Hidden in the back shed in the Dandenong’s in Melbourne! Nobody would ever know it’s there!!!! I asked what will become of this when you pass, he said his kids will probably put it in a dumpster! 😐

Should be in a museum and lovingly cared for. Such a treasure is very rare.
