  • Yet another pair of questionable USB phone chargers. They don't comply with safety regulations, they can cause an electric shock, fire or electromagnetic interference (EMI). One is a Quick Charge 3.0 charger rated 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.6A (not really), the other is a small 5V/1A charger (again a fake current rating). Let's test them, see what's inside and how do they work, including the schematic of the fast charger.

“Poor electrolytic capacitor!”. That killed me man.

  • @michaelfisher9671

That is the highest temperature of a component I have ever seen that was still functional

Well, on the plus side they can save on the shrink wrap machine at the factory. Just power it up and the heat will make the wrap shrink right down on there.

  • @TomazLeandroAlonso

you buy a power supply and gets an electric grill... bloody hell... 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • @mysock351C

I’m super impressed with that diode at 150+! None of that derate crap, that is a full send right there🔥

  • @iamdarkyoshi

Mmmm, delightfully dodgy. Pretty much every clone of the 1A apple EU or US chargers tend to be the worst offenders for some reason.

"Let's try to open it somehow"

Take a look at cheap "gan" chargers that are coming up in the chinese market, they are very suspicious...

if the video is without "bloody hell" such video is non existing - this one was well above the average - thank you, as usual you made my day ;-)

Bloody Hell!! Just when I think USB phone chargers can't get any more dangerous or dodgy, you show us this Chinese fire-starting death maker!! Keep up the great work! You are funny as hell, and doing an important public service at the same time.

What a good camera quality . thank you for your improved picturing and filming technology .

  • @antibrevity

Love how they printed a zig-zag shape into the PCB "fuse" on the 2nd unit as though that would help ;). Would have have better to simply print a narrower, straight trace. The transformer is one of the worst you've shown on the channel and could kill someone.

    This never gets boring.

Oh hell yes. I know what I'm watching today. Exciting. I may have started purchasing cheap chargers from thrift shops (and amazing ones) just to reverse engineer them. Valuable skills and for how similar all these switching supplies seem theres some novel control chips out there, and some super simple (and sketchy) but fascinating analog methods. Love the royer oscillators powering some of the sketchy high voltage supplies for cfls etc

Amaziiiiing! Still waiting for a proper >500W SMPS. Thank you for your videos full of information!

  • @KeritechElectronics

Finally, you roasted some real deal dodgyyyyyy stuff! I've been missing it.
