I was just thinking about buying a trainer for my bike to put in the basement for the Winter. I've never tried the online cycling thing, but it's probably pretty fun. I hope the gluten free/grain free thing helps. I've done gluten free for years at a time. I'm not now, but we recently did it for a month after finding out, Inga's daughter was Celiac intolerant. It can be a challenge, but it's totally doable and also not terrible. The iron thing can be tricky, especially as a vegan. There are ways to help boost your iron absorption naturally. This is Important as a Vegan (heme iron vs. non-heme iron and all), and especially if you run as well. When we lived in Des Moines we would donate Plasma for extra income as a way to facilitate only having to work part-time instead of full. So, because of this, I got tested twice a week and so did Inga. My iron was always fine and in one case was too high and I could not donate. Inga was normally on the lower side and had to work to keep her hemoglobin up. Consuming Vitamin C with iron rich foods helps absorption with non-heme iron (Plant-Based). Still going to be more of a struggle for women unfortunately. I think you are around 17 hours ahead of me over there. have fun in the future!
Hi Chris, yep, the time difference is crazy. Hope it's not too cold for your, we had a really hot day today. It snows where you are I remember. Yes, the cycling, I used to race on Zwift. Currently my bike is off the trainer as it's nice weather. But I do miss the virtual racing and the community, so I might fit it back on when my energy comes back. Truth be told about the iron, I had been taking iron supplements since my first pregnancy (I was vegetarian then), over 22 years ago. Just never could get enough. That is wonderful that you could give blood. Thank you to you and Inga for doing so. Working on my script for my Iron Deficiency video ;-)
