Earthbound Softlock Playthrough - Belch's Base

I have two objectives: kill off Ness and get Paula up to level 31 so that she learns Freeze Gamma, which will make it much easier to defeat the third strongest boss in the game. After a lengthy amount of infuriating running back and forth, Ness gets killed by a beetle and I burn dozens if not hundreds of tomatoes on fire.
Once Paula learns Fire Beta, you're guaranteed to kill the Foppies in one hit even with a min roll, and you have access to unlimited PP restoration via the magic butterfly room. If I wanted to, I could have grinded much more--maybe it would have been a good idea, actually. Oh well.
I grabbed the IQ capsule in one of the rooms and had Paula drink it for an additional PP boost.
