Just to say thanks i think it was your channel that had me switch to the gas tracker, which i did a couple of weeks ago. And Ive now had a coupel family members do the same.
That's good news. I will as well hopefully when my gas meter becomes smart again. Hopefully it won't matter what happens to the gas price over Summer for me as I probably won't use any, unless it makes financial sense and it's really cheap.
UK South Solar : 444kWh Consumption : 1.73MWh Octo saving session : +£14.67 Export : 194.84kWh @0.15 : +£29.23 Import : 1.4MWh @0.071 : -£99.4 Octo intelligent Go pretty much only Standing charge Elec @0.4567 : -£14.16 No gas Total Net : -£69.66 So the same, just charge batteries at night and never touch the expensive elec in the day then throw all the solar export at it! on the whole far better than M expected form a January!
5.5kW south-facing array in Surrey with very similar generation total and profile: 224kWh. Missed your good days at the start of the month but had slightly higher double-day peaks throughout the month. PV-only install Nov '23 with paid exporting from late Jan. Net import of 226kWh. We switched to Octopus' gas tracker late autumn and paid an average unit price of 4.1p for 2060kWh of CH & HW in Jan.
@@alanc1406 I think I would have held off and waited for the 5kw SolarEdge inverter when it was out of stock, instead of going for the 4kw version which was in stock at the time. Although I have no idea how much extra I would have generated with it. The MCS calculation said not much more, and certainly nothing more in winter. Otherwise I am still very happy. I couldn't get any more panels on the roof. Another battery would be nice, even though I don't really need it. Can't think of anything else I'd change.

Looks good
East Midlands 4kw array generated 148.5 kwh. Best day 26th with 11.4 kwh, worst day 2nd with 0.5 kwh.

That's a good gas price.
Your solar array performed pretty well for Jan
My 6.5kwp in the Midlands only generated 127kw with 8.8kw being my best day.
I suppose everyone is different. it's just the luck of the weather, I suppose.
East Cornwall 7.36pKw ground mounted south facing solar array ASHP 20Kwhs batteries. Generation 275.65Kwhs highest day 19/01/24 21.3Kwhs lowest day 1.66Kwh 04/01/24.
Exported 25.48Kwhs imported 694.9Kwhs. Billed by Octopus £105.40 - £13.60 from saving session = £91.80.
E.Midlands 4 kwp 100kwh 8.2kwh on the 26th. second half of jan improving after a grim Dec.
It's getting better now, won't be long before the clocks change.
Yep you'll get an extra hour of daylight generation
Daniel you seem to get great solar production from that size array. Do the panels get obscured by trees or adjacent buildings of any kind
No, there is no shading at all.
@@daniel_coe Daniel is there anything you would do differently in terms of setup/equipment if you were to start a fresh to improve the setup you have
