- Heresy is here and now I've run Nether like 12 times and boy is it better than Explore mode. Thoughts on that and the overall concept of the mode and its loot distribution.

My new hot take: my enjoyment of crafting is less about loot quality, and more about inventory management.
This is a good observation. Having my post master almost full after every run sounds like a nightmare.
Too true. Having the right roll crafted means less space in the vault to take up.
thats not a hot take
finally something to eat food with
This is the way
Sounds like they’re testing their “tier loot” system now lol
Having to plink that tormentor boss down with primary ammo only was terrible, the solo option needs a lot of work or they need to just remove the penalty on Special ammo
The corrupted boons definitely need another pass. The debuffs are just too much. I took one that basically said "increases elemental damage, drains grenade and class ability energy." It wasnt clear what it meant by "drains" so I tried it out, and it turned out that everytime I killed an enemy I just lost like half my grenade and class ability energy. And this would also happen when breaking a jar. Not to sound rude to the devs, but: what in the actual hell are you thinking here? Never again.
That said, the rest of the Nether is great. Corrupted boons are just a huge miss.
This is one of my most used boons lol.
Skill issue tbh
@@alejandrocarralero2826 Actually Bungie managment Skill issue tbh. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
they need to make the positive far outweigh the negative
No no my friend. That we you always pick up a corrupted boon. The point of this is what are you willing to sacrifice and what other boons synergize with the corruped boon @Kait07_
The drops are broken, where people are getting the rare adepts to drop but they are not dropping with the adept perks - double perk columns and double origin trait. Yet another sidebar reason people often prefer crafting. Add that with last eps strange perk weighting controversy…. Add that with people being locked out of the Iron Banner level up reward. AND THEN….. there is VAULT SPACE. Since Collections is useless.
I hope they add more encounters and secrets, this mode really need it.
I'm pretty sure they said that the Explore mode gives you a bunch more revives, which facilitates more trial-and-error for finding secrets and stuff.
Not me losing most of my lives to a fucking tormentor 😂
Too bad Healing sucks SO bad that I haven't even logged back in since playing five minutes in Explore Mode on the Dreadnaught only to find that: Well doesn't heal, grenades don't heal, Rifts don't heal, I am NOT using fucking Crimson, so yeah...guess I am skipping this season. A shame, too as the opening mission was AWESOME! Too bad they fucked it up with 'Healing as a resource'. Bitch, Warlocks WERE the Healing Resource!
Oh well...guess the opinions of Players with almost 19K hours between D1 & D2 don't count for shit.
Heresy Review:
1 out of 5
Would not recommend
@@davidbell1202Generational skill issue crashout
@@davidbell1202just say you clutch on healing builds lol. There are more ways to heal yourself than crimson if you go through and take a look.
@davidbell1202 Don't know why you used my comment to announce your departure, but it sound like you need a break anyway
Solo was really fun in the nether. People complaining about it are just being picky imo
I don't like it personally. The dreadnought is ok but the loot is garbage and I hate the health mechanic. It's a miss for me.
3:28 if you buy the overshield on healing well pickup it's like the healing thing doesn't even exist. You get an instant full overshield on every well, and these are the buffed overshields as well.
The only reason why no crafting sucked last episode was because the weapons were both bad and also pretty annoying to farm. Nobody complained about crafting in into the light because the weapons were great and super easy to focus. It seems this season is going the Into the Light approach.
People DID complain about it, but they were not worth listening to.
Spot on with the chest icon error. It's a huge problem and honestly really shocking that this mode was released without someone flagging that as a now-critical issue. Less shocking when you remember that bungie kind of doesn't have a QA team anymore, but still
Im sorry, but "having to hide behind cover when youre getting shot at" is a dumb gripe.
I play Destiny because I like Destiny. f I wanted to play a roguelike game, I'd download a different, roguelike game.
You can add the subtitle speaker names in the settings menu.
I'm glad they came out and said the healing is bugged rn, especially since some weapons do normal healing like lumina/crimson.
They've fucked around and now don't want to find out.
I definitely feel like healing was mostly working the way they wanted it too and are now trying to make it seem like they didn't know what things would be like this. Bungie is a company that's been comfortable lying and obfuscating before. There's no reason to think they've changed.
@@adversary22you can tell the devs don't actually play their own game, like literally 1 run in and I saw that the healing was so minimal because it doesn't scale to your health, and even with the increased health the enemies seem to do the same dmg they normally do, had a flying dredge take half my health out of nowhere
@@Beloved_Sniper choose the right boons and you will be swarmed with healing orbs
@@Beloved_Sniper stuff like this happens because they gutted their QA team during the layoffs. Most gaming companies seem to believe for some reason that these guys are the most expendable
Explore has secrets in it.
I enjoyed Nether solo okay, it's a combat challenge, I like those. I'm not so keen on platforming, puzzles, and traps in D2; the Nether has some puzzles, but it's mostly shooting so it's my cup of tea. The Chest marker bug needs to be fixed, though. That was the biggest frustration for me, the needless backtracking, I probably could have cut my time in half.
First time i beat nether explore was with an arc hunter.... No idea why the players are crying about the healing....
Explore mode:
1. Gives you like twice as many revives, so you don't have to worry about your tokens as much.
2. There's not that find the blights or wipe everyone little mini event
3. As you mentioned, you can take your time in each area whereas in the matchmade version, I've been pulled forward by teammates while I've been looking around
There might be more, but that's off the top of my head. Is it worth doing vs the matchmade version? Still probably not. Don't think there's really enough of a distinction, but there are benefits/reasons to use that mode instead
I Have Hives (Harrowed) is such a funny name lmao
Ive been mainly solo doing explore and its been a cakewalk. I encourage people to try it!
Know you can crutch heals this mode encourages debuffing enemies, blinds, severs, suspends, etc bexause the enemies are your health sources. Also dont worry about flawless you have more than enough revives.
I am doing these solo on geomags with delicate tomb and Im having a blast.
The healing situation in the activity imo was only problematic for a few hours in. Once I got upgrades like healing orbs heal more, and a full over shield, things got kind of comically easy. Solo still needs a bit change though, the scaling isn't very good.
Another fun healing tool for Nether: Ruinous Effigy.
If someone's generating those balls, *don't just dunk them!* Guarding is a big AoE drain that scales on damage dealt, so if you're dealing with a crowd you can very quickly regen a *lot* of health. And also enemies in the field take bonus damage from my meme beam.
Healing feels fine with boons and tombs upgrades
I feel like this a good step in the right direction for the game
Last time I matchmade this, a blueberry kept dying when he tried to jump to the platform where the boss was. We used 4 revives for this.
Bungie: Players aren’t healing enough so we’ll patch it.
Bungie Later: We are aware of a new bug that prevents players from returning to full and are working hard to find a solution. We hear you and we’re listening.
i prefer the solo experience than with other people, with a fireteam it makes the activity too casual that feels like a strike
Support frame autos don’t work. Unrelenting on weapons fully heals when it’s activated
My biggest gripe with this is they advertise that healing Auto rifle as if it would do anything when it takes 40 bullets to give your teammate one HP And saying we're going to have to prioritize healing when in reality none of our healing sources. I don't like having to leave an engagement to go find a pot to get some health. And as a warlock main it didn't feel good having 70% of my prismatic kit essentially disabled. But I do agree it's a ton of loot I'm so glad every chest has weapons the weapons look awesome and shiny drops are a good trade for crafting
if you watched their preview stream, there were several points where a teammate was mag dumping onto the streamer and it was doing absolutley nothing. even since i saw that i was concerned they would be useless and what do you know lol. at least they have adknowledged its a problem!
For the different weapon types, it sounds like pre-work for the weapon tier system. I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes.
The Coil was better. Even Deep Dives was better.
Solo Nether feeĺs like a more Extreme Harder version of DOOM
I keep getting error code Guitar when trying to complete Nether runs
My first boss on solo explore was the tormentor. That boss took me longer and more lives than the entire rest of the run. After him, everything was easy
They made the dreadnought look not hive -.-
Maybe unpopular opinion but no crafting is 10x better. I’m actually looking at weapon drops now instead of instantly scrapping everything.
Facts. Adept raid loot does feel slightly redundant with crafting and ballistic and tactical weapon mods existing but it’s something to min max I guess
@ yea I always thought raid loot shouldn’t be craftable and season weapons should be if any. Raids Dungeons should just have adepts. Bungie did it backwards lol.
Yeaa no crafting is alrdy feeling really really good this time around and my vault is goddamn full rn until I get home from work and that was after 1 and a half runs.
It's also really fun just exploring things listening to lore and the music and environment. The more difficult combat is really engaging and its a switch up from anything else we have
they did what they needed to in terms of loot volume and "shinies," this is easy Into the Light level in terms of the amount of loot to find the rolls you want. Also like a guaranteed three focuses a run
I’d say it depends. Last season I think that the crafting was better, whilst for the Adept/Shiny system random drops are a lot lot better.
Think ITL compared to 30th anniversary update, at launch it was impossible to get good rolls from dates yet crafting made it infinitely better, but with ITL the shiny system added a more worthwhile system than crafting.
8:55 it makes no since because the normal matchmade version has a private option in the dropdown selector making the "explore" mode completely pointless.
I have experienced healing sources sporadically not working including the healing drops.
The activity is bad because enemies shoot you and you need to take cover 😂😂😂😂😂
I wonder why they didn’t add the Hull Breach location
It was cool exploring and going slow instead of charging through like a crayon pooping rhino.
It's just more destiny, which isn't really bad If you like destiny like I do, but at the same time, it's just more of the same. However the story with eris and drifter is fucking awesome
Activity is decent. Loot is good. The voice strike thing is very awkward and makes story feel a bit disjointed. Also only having a couple hours worth of questing and not even seeing Oryx feels awkward as well.
I’m enjoying vault of glass again, excited to craft those weapons. Not interested in more rng tonic/totem nonsense so i’ll be skipping the stuff outside of story.
I just got a flawless on my second run on legend
Yup sounds like this season won’t cook. Not surprised. Bungie will probably announce Q3 layoffs again
Exploration mode isn’t even hard there’s a stupid amount of ways to get health from boons or breaking vases
I think your armor luck was just bad RNG, ive gotten a couple 60s that i can slot into a few of my builds for Nether runs. Those were earned with a ghost mod on
Assassin. Cowl too
I thought explore mode was quite chill lol
Crimson saved my life many times! Is this Nether activity endless or am I leaving early
You’re leaving early, and therefore losing a lot of the materials you’re collecting by leaving early. Once you clear three areas you collect the final chest and thats it
@@Iced_Tristan dang I had that feeling... thanks for the help!
Yea after 7 or 8 years of me playing i just dont want to keep providing them with feedback either you know how to make a good experience or you don't...how many times has the community had to dang near mutiny to get the point across..I just don't have the same desire to keep playing the hamster wheel ...and I'm sad that's why I'm upset ..so much possibility and promise only to be wasted and whored out to be the marathon idea dart board I just have no faith this game continues if marathon succeeds
Paul I'm sorry but 80 minutes for a solo is crazy how slow were you going
Just wish they can stay away from the gimmicks like healtjy gating and energy weapon penalties. This activity, even on expert, is easy. Gating health and weapons isnt how you make things challenging. I much rather have harder enemies or even more mechanics to the encounters.
I did the solo explore and i noped the fuck outta there and i think thats it for me in D2 Revenant was terrible and now heresy isnt looking too good so im out for good i think
Nah man solo is great, the right boons on a run i had i was using finishers to nuke whole rooms
Yeah your wrong. I got a total of one healing orb solo for an entire encounter. They drop way to little when your solo to heal at all. I broke every jar and would only get one healing orb every 5 breaks.
solo nether explore is too easy?? wym it was bad. Runs take around 50 minutes and the bosses have next to no health
This is exactly what I was afraid was going to happen, everyone logged in and did it one time and said "NO THIS IS AWFUL WE HATE IT" and I wouldn't be surprised if the adjustments make it basically the same as always - use your same old resto loop and it just takes longer to get you to full because you have way more health.
Why would bungie put the quest marker on the solo one? Stupid
The destiny community has derived into a complain fest.
A Heavy Linear Fusion w Discord is absolutely NUTTY.
With the healing, a SLIGHT increase in health return would be nice. Otherwise it's pretty fun!
Solo explore wasn’t that hard but it was boring af. What a weird default choice
Paul, love your stuff but please add a pop filter to your microphone. Plosives everywhere
Half of what you complained about is relatable and the other half is just a you problem lol.
terrible and unfun, a summary of Paul "This Week At Tassi" Tassi's recent D2 contributions
Hi Paul :-)
Explore mode was unfun. I almost ran out of res tokens.
All this guy does is complain. Blah blah blah. Why does he even play D2 anymore.
The nether game mode still fking sucks the devs can kts's
I enjoyed the difficulty on the Nether solo
Do you think this is leading into use getting Taken powers? Or that her Apartment is a hint toward players spaces?
80’ !! You bot
Gonna pull out crimson now. Thanks paul.
Nitpicker.
Looks boring af.
Im having fun, i really dont want them changing the healing source amounts.
1st of all this is a mission, why would there be teleporting in a mission? Walk and explore and see the damn place we're in atm, bet you most dont even know where any of the hidden lore gems are because they wanna teleport everywhere, the damn mission has been out for less than 2 days.... relax.
All they needa do is add more areas and more missions to do in the area.
That made the SOLO side of this activity terrible..... Good job Bungie 😐
DESTINY 2 is Cringe now. need new games.
And yet here you are, watching a video on it
@@Aves_1 Actually, we're just hoping that someone, somewhere will hear our laments and remove the Brawn mechanic, or for the love of all that is Holy, restore our fucking Healing elements! I assume, like me, we LOVED (past tense) the game, but now? 18.6K hours and I think this really will break me. Either they relent, fix it or it's Warframe from here on out.
So, yes; we're here watching the videos, looking for some inclination from Bungie that they aren't totally fucking douchebags and will listen to our feedback and adjust the gameplay accordingly.
@@davidbell1202 there are so many healing orbs in the activity. not even a skill issue it's a think issue. choose the right boons
Forbes deez nuts
