I spent almost $50 bucks for the Japanese import when OLTA came out all those years ago just to get this song. Still worth every penny (even though I already owned the domestic copy)Yes you can buy the track now on iTunes but to have a physical copy of that album with this track makes OLTA out of this world.

I was driving in a rural part of Tasmania before antics and I was listening to my Interpol album driving to no-where when I came to a point and there was a house at that point, so I turned down my volume to also here Interpol. Magic moment.
I've loved Interpol for years. Even seen them live. Any band that has the confidence and passion to release a video without them in it, deserves so much respect it hurts. They stir up so much emotion in so many people, again, it hurts. It feels like they're doing it because they want to, not because they have too. Dying breed.
Im actually so glad i can listen to this song again. I havent been able to listen to this song for years. I have an unreal amount of love for this song.
This is one of the greatest modern songs ever recorded. Abstract lyrics that are so equivocal and yet evocative, driven by this hypnotic bass line and oscillating guitar riff. The slow crescendo building up to the voicemail is so chilling, almost like the anxiety and mustering of courage to pick up a call in the middle of the night from a loved one. So much sentimental value in that song for me personally and vividly takes me back to a painful time in my life.
I've said it before... and I'll say it again... this truly is one of he best videos to music... it captures the distant beauty & fragility of the song... it's a song that brings a lump to my throat every time Christmas appears, it's when the voicemail starts talking how good it would be see Paul and that it's been a long time... the fact the voicemail is real makes the whole experience poignant.
