    Yes - you should always knit a gauge swatch, especially for garments.

    This video is made to accompany a written pattern, and all of the details (like the questions you've asked) are in that pattern. Follow the link in the video description field, just below the video, to go to my website. There you can purchase and instantly download the pattern. Hope that helps!

    Yes - I've just added a link to the video description, which will take you to the pattern for the pink sweater on the mannequin.

    @ghoryhuon Depends on how big you want to make it...the sweater pattern offers instructions for these sizes: 6 mo, 12 mo, 18 mo, and 24 mo. The pattern can be purchased at verypink.com.

    @2008ggore Thanks for the comment. I don't currently have plans to make any more sizes for this pattern than the 4 sizes I already have, but once you learn the skills from these videos, you can explore other patterns designed for any range of sizes!

    @blueforyou2 Yes, absolutely. You don't really need to use circular needles until you start knitting the body of the sweater.

  • @verypinkknits
    @verypinkknits  12 років тому

    @bjbabratz Worsted weight yarn is the most common weight of yarn you see when you're at the yarn shop. It is usually what we use for knitting sweaters, scarves, hats, etc. It isn't a specific brand or anything, just a weight of yarn. The yarn ball band will usually tell you if it's worsted.

  • @verypinkknits
    @verypinkknits  13 років тому

    @blueforyou2 Yes - instead of just weaving in the ends that are left under the arms when you're finished knitting, use those ends to close up any hole you might get there. A small hole is normal, and easy to fix. :)

    Yes, this sweater can easily be modified for longer sleeves. But please understand - this is a toddler sweater, and not sized for teenagers or adults. You can visit my website for patterns and tutorials in other sizes. I can't give you a link here, but my website is verypink, plus a dot, plus a com.

    Absolutley. If you're a happier knitter using a small circular rather than DPNs, that will work just fine. :)

  • @verypinkknits
    @verypinkknits  14 років тому

    @xCuttie I used size 7 needles, but the needle size/stitch gauge is all explained in the pattern. Needle size isn't as important as getting the correct tension.

  • @verypinkknits
    @verypinkknits  13 років тому

    @sarzberry You always slip the markers, whether your knitting or purling. Just slide them from the left needle to the right.

    @judshva This pattern is probably still too big for a newborn. The sizing goes from 6 months to 24 months.

    I love this sweater. I am going to make it my first sweater. But can we use small circular needle to do the sleeves instead of dps. I am not good with them at all!

    I'm going to be using this pattern for my son's Halloween costume. The only issue is, can I make it sleeveless? I'm new to knitting and was wondering if that was possible with this pattern and still make it look great. I love your videos!

    • @verypinkknits
      @verypinkknits  10 років тому +1

      Janette Vineyard - this type of pattern (top-down raglan) isn't a good choice for a sleeveless sweater. I recommend finding a vest pattern on Ravelry in a size to fit your son - you'll have a much easier time with the knitting!

    Do you think I could make this a cardigan by continuing the front seed stitch and opening down the front. I don't mind if it doesn't overlap and have buttons!

    • @verypinkknits
      @verypinkknits  4 роки тому

      It will work...but it will likely curl in pretty badly at the front band.

      TheNpcsim - yes, that is all spelled out in the written pattern. The body of the sweater is knit in-the-round.

    So can u made this sweater with hoodie?

    • @verypinkknits
      @verypinkknits  10 років тому

      This neckline doesn't lend itself very well to convert it to a hoodie. It can be done, but it would require reworking the neckline.

    I bought this pattern. I want to make the 24 month but on the pattern you just say cast on ** numbers and do 5 rows and then add the markers and you said the markers are different for each size but you don't say the markers for the different sizes.

    • @verypinkknits
      @verypinkknits  8 років тому

      +Magen kacharos - any time (in any pattern) you see only one set of instructions for several sizes, that means there are no differences between the sizes for that part of the pattern. You can trust the pattern!

    • @lesfrew2611
      @lesfrew2611 4 роки тому

      @@verypinkknits Yes, I wondered about this because you do say that each size is different with regard to the markers, so we're going to want to follow the pattern. But at that point the pattern is the same for all sizes, I now understand. Thank you.
