- This series of five videos are made to accompany the Toddler Tunic pattern, which is available for purchase and download here:
verypink.com/20...
This video is an overview of top-down raglan knitting, and covers the seed stitch top border and working the raglan increases.
The sweater on the mannequin is not my design, but can be found here;
www.ravelry.com...
I just about choked when you called your mannequin Anne Boelyn!!!!
Yes - you should always knit a gauge swatch, especially for garments.
This video is made to accompany a written pattern, and all of the details (like the questions you've asked) are in that pattern. Follow the link in the video description field, just below the video, to go to my website. There you can purchase and instantly download the pattern. Hope that helps!
Yes - I've just added a link to the video description, which will take you to the pattern for the pink sweater on the mannequin.
@ghoryhuon Depends on how big you want to make it...the sweater pattern offers instructions for these sizes: 6 mo, 12 mo, 18 mo, and 24 mo. The pattern can be purchased at verypink.com.
@2008ggore Thanks for the comment. I don't currently have plans to make any more sizes for this pattern than the 4 sizes I already have, but once you learn the skills from these videos, you can explore other patterns designed for any range of sizes!
All of the information you need to knit this pattern (including cast-on numbers for the different sizes) are available in the written pattern. To purchase and instantly download your copy, just follow the link in the video description field, just below the video.
@blueforyou2 Yes, absolutely. You don't really need to use circular needles until you start knitting the body of the sweater.
@bjbabratz Worsted weight yarn is the most common weight of yarn you see when you're at the yarn shop. It is usually what we use for knitting sweaters, scarves, hats, etc. It isn't a specific brand or anything, just a weight of yarn. The yarn ball band will usually tell you if it's worsted.
@blueforyou2 Yes - instead of just weaving in the ends that are left under the arms when you're finished knitting, use those ends to close up any hole you might get there. A small hole is normal, and easy to fix. :)
Yes, this sweater can easily be modified for longer sleeves. But please understand - this is a toddler sweater, and not sized for teenagers or adults. You can visit my website for patterns and tutorials in other sizes. I can't give you a link here, but my website is verypink, plus a dot, plus a com.
Absolutley. If you're a happier knitter using a small circular rather than DPNs, that will work just fine. :)
@xCuttie I used size 7 needles, but the needle size/stitch gauge is all explained in the pattern. Needle size isn't as important as getting the correct tension.
@sarzberry You always slip the markers, whether your knitting or purling. Just slide them from the left needle to the right.
I am really enjoying your knitting patterns. Thank you very much.
@judshva This pattern is probably still too big for a newborn. The sizing goes from 6 months to 24 months.
well im kind of new in ths so i need to knw some answrs
1 thing for ths swetr size how many sts did u cast on..?
2 thing for sleeves how may sts did u increase..??
3 thing on how many sts did u end up with..?
its kind of silly questions but i need to knw bcoz i wnt 2 learn it but cnt undrstnd it...!!
I love this sweater. I am going to make it my first sweater. But can we use small circular needle to do the sleeves instead of dps. I am not good with them at all!
I'm going to be using this pattern for my son's Halloween costume. The only issue is, can I make it sleeveless? I'm new to knitting and was wondering if that was possible with this pattern and still make it look great. I love your videos!
Janette Vineyard - this type of pattern (top-down raglan) isn't a good choice for a sleeveless sweater. I recommend finding a vest pattern on Ravelry in a size to fit your son - you'll have a much easier time with the knitting!
Great, thank you for the tip!
Hi can you tell me how many states start for 5 years old boy please.
Hii i wanna knit a sweater for one year old baby how much wool is required here I'm using baby soft wool
No seaming. This sweater is knit in one piece.
Hi mam.plz make tutorial of knitting round yoke.plz
Anne Boleyn? I love it.
so I can do this according to the skills required! yeah! i'm going to purchase it as soon as possible and get started. Will be my first time doing Seed stitch and making anything besides a washcloth or headband.
hi...
can u plz tell me what is worsted weight yarn??? Is it a special type of brand or something???
Do you think I could make this a cardigan by continuing the front seed stitch and opening down the front. I don't mind if it doesn't overlap and have buttons!
It will work...but it will likely curl in pretty badly at the front band.
ahhhh, your dress forms name is Ann Boleyn! love it, mine's named betty :)
+Michelle Greenberg ann boleyn, cause she lost her head! lol
Hi, I wish to knit this sweater for a newborn (0 to 6 month), can I purchase a pattern for this size?
Do you have a patterns for the ladies sweater on the model
Hi I love this design, do you have a pattern for adult please? Would love to knit one for myself. 😊
No, sorry - but you can find similar patterns for adults on Ravelry, just search for top-down raglans.
Hi Staci, I purchased this sweater to make for my daughter and now that she is 5yrs old... I would like to make it for her but the measurement stop at 24mths old... hope you can help me out
Sorry...I can't. This pattern is designed for toddlers. But there are many top-down raglan sweater patterns in all sizes available on Ravelry!
I haven't seen you join in the round while making this. Do you join it at all?
TheNpcsim - yes, that is all spelled out in the written pattern. The body of the sweater is knit in-the-round.
So can u made this sweater with hoodie?
This neckline doesn't lend itself very well to convert it to a hoodie. It can be done, but it would require reworking the neckline.
I see, thank you for the quick answer
How many stitches u cast on?
Uhow many stiches do u do
I bought this pattern. I want to make the 24 month but on the pattern you just say cast on ** numbers and do 5 rows and then add the markers and you said the markers are different for each size but you don't say the markers for the different sizes.
+Magen kacharos - any time (in any pattern) you see only one set of instructions for several sizes, that means there are no differences between the sizes for that part of the pattern. You can trust the pattern!
@@verypinkknits Yes, I wondered about this because you do say that each size is different with regard to the markers, so we're going to want to follow the pattern. But at that point the pattern is the same for all sizes, I now understand. Thank you.
Is it possible to do it on a knitting loom?
+Anabela Freitas - sorry, I don't do knitting loom patterns. But there are plenty of loom knitting UA-cam channels...I encourage you to check them out. Here is a very good loom knitting channel: ua-cam.com/users/GoodKnitKisses
Gracias esta hermoso!!!
Please tell us how many Sts for the borders.
I just paid for the pattern
