  • Crochet Basketweave Sweater.
I came across this stitch recently and immediately thought it looked quite similar to the knit stitch of the same name. Straight away I just had to make a sweater and here it is. I hope you enjoy making it.
    Materials needed:
Weight 4 yarn (amounts for each size are in my blog)
    5mm crochet hook
    Measuring tape.

Somehow your technique of crocheting and explaining how to crochet works for me. I tried other youtubers but always messed up my project. Already made two pullovers for my mom. This current one is going to be for myself. Thank you so much for sharing the joy.

I've just found your channel and this video. It is lovely to be able to watch a tutorial like this with beautiful calming music playing quietly in the background and not drowning out the narrator's voice, and that beautiful accent, gently spoken and explaining the project instructions clearly and simply. You made it very watchable and easy to understand. I loved it and subscribed.

Thank you! You’re an Angel! I have severe arthritis and I am almost in tears every time I see a beautiful sweater using #3!weight yarn and a 4 mm hook! It absolutely kills my hands to use thin yarn and a smaller hook. I’ve always wanted to make a basket weave sweater cause the texture is so interesting!! Thank you!! You’ve made my day!!

@@terryobi2479 It’s ok. I’ve found that I can adjust patterns that call for weight #3 by using weight #4 and my measurements. I have also started using a smaller hook & thinner yarn, but I only do an hour or two at a time.

I made it with quite a bit of improvising. I could not make such loose cuff ribbing, so did some changes there, stretched out neck ribbing on corners to avoid gathers in it and as always made it to my size coz thankfully I don't need size instructions. But you definitely haven't made it beginner friendly. It is so easy to make but it could have been beginner friendly if you showed it in more detail.

However, the pattern doesn’t give a number of balls of wool (just length), I’m in the UK and would appreciate your telling me the amount of wool I’ll need for the XL size please. Thanks in advance and thanks for the great video. Hopefully I’ll be following more of your patterns ☺️
