Ana for the Italians you don't drink coffee, you drink coffee with milk. In Italy, "caffè" is only a small cup of concentrated black coffee. What you drink, in Italy we call it cappuccino. Thanks for sharing your Albuca blooms. I've come across this plant several times before but never knew the blooms were so lovely. Its now on my wishlist 📝🪴
Oh, they should do well on your more humid weather. They struggle during our summer here so the bulbs don’t grow as fat as I would want them too. If you can find the Albuca spiralis, I like the leaves on those better. Thicker and curlier.

I like all your mugs, you must have quite a collection !!! The elephant mug is so very cute !!! Your cacti are super blooming ones, such pretty blooms!!!!! Mine are blooming too but I have only a few in community pots, most of them not even named ones. But I like them and they are growing fast !!!
Haha. I don’t really collect mugs. I just keep a few nice ones. Not to mention they break in time so I keep my set of mugs to a minimum. 😉

I hope my May and June are as flowerific as your April! I moved most of mine outside last weekend and will move more out this weekend. It’s still in the low 40s at night but the ones that were in my garage all winter can handle that no problem!
Oh low 40s is still too cold. Don’t worry, days are warming up fast. By June, I’m sure your cacti will be blooming and mine will be dormant once again (for the summer) 🤣. I just get an early start and early end. 😉

I need to see your mug collection. haha! It's super hot today here in the 90's I think but next week it will be way cooler. I'm confused and so are my cactus. I'm still waiting for some sort of super blooms but I think it won't happen until the summer time or something.
I was surprised to hear that So. California was hotter over the weekend than here in Vegas. That is a rare occurrence. Haha. I’m sure when your spring stays constantly warm, your super blooms will start.

When do you put up a shade cloth?
In my gardens, I put the shade cloth up when our temperatures are consistently in the upper 90’s and above. Where I have the small potted cacti, I have a 50% shade cloth over them that I keep up all year.
I live in Belém, a metropolitan city in the northern region of Brazil. Amazon region. We are in the intense rainy season, my cacti hardly bloom here without fertilizers. Difficult period with very high air humidity. even though my cacti are in a greenhouse, the humidity is so high in the air that some even rot without any watering
Wow, that is a difficult situation to be in as a cacti grower. But I admire your patience and persistence. Maybe greater air circulation and a very gritty soil mix will help? Also epiphytic cacti will love your weather. 😉 Good luck!

Waiting for the Echinopsis 🙈
My Echinopsis are just developing buds now. They formed much later because all of them spent winter outside the greenhouse. One of the Echinopsis pup that you sent me last year is forming a bud. I hope it continues as I’m excited to see the flower. 😉
Hello Ana! Beautiful blooms! I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. In the spring/summer should I wait to water my cacti until they feel soft/look wrinkly? I wait to water my other succulents until the leaves are no longer firm so I was wondering if I should do the same for my cacti. Or should I water as soon as the soil dries out? Thank you so much for your videos! I have learned so much from you!❤️🌵
It is always the safest to wait till the cactus shows signs that it is thirsty before you water. But in my case, during spring, I water whenever the soil is dry. I try to keep them more hydrated during growing season as it helps in the formation of buds. Some cactus will abort their buds when they get severely dehydrated. Hope this helps.
Excellent show Ana 😎 My Rebutia miniscula is covered in buds but the crown is starting to split into two 😮 Have any of yours done that?
Oh how exciting that you are getting so many buds! 😊 Maybe your Rebutia is growing another head. Mammillarias are known to split their heads to create two heads. I haven’t seen a Rebutia do that though. 😃 Maybe it is cresting ?! 😉

I got mine from the gift shop inside the Zion National Park. I’m sorry, I don’t remember the name but they were the only gift shop inside the park. The other was a grocery. But I see this mug is also sold online. Just search Mara Stoneware collection. 🙂
what fertilizer do you use to get them to bloom? I've been using tomato and they grow but don't flower as much as last year

My houseplant cactus has organs flowers, but I found tiny bugs crawling on the flowers. Their bodies like tiny snakes. I quickly removed the flowers, but still found some there. What should I do?
If they are bugs, I would use a contact insecticide to get rid of them asap.
