I even had to google how to pronounce that word the day before. Something about my tongue, I just couldn’t say “horticulturist’ properly. 😅

I always enjoy your garden/nursery tours. You and I live in a similar climate, I am in an inland hot valley in SoCal so most of the cactus care is the same. Our summers are getting hotter, unfortunately, so my temps are becoming nearly the same.

Thank you so much. 😊 Yes, I hear inland Cali has similar climate as Vegas. I think your night temps are just a little bit cooler than ours during the summer.(?)

Wow, I think that’s my favorite tour thus far. I couldn’t understand what he called the ground cover plant. It was right before the road runner. Beep beep!

Such a gorgeous place and great host! :D I love the screw bean mesquite... so stunning, I wish we were allowed to have them here!

It is an interesting tree. It provides shade but not too much shade. Why are you not allowed to have it?

@@CactusCaffeine I'm in Australia and they grow here a little too well, spreading like mad and smothering our native plants, soil structure and species depending on them as well as feeding and providing habitat for some of the invasive animal species. So they're both a declared Noxious Weed and Weed of National Significance here unfortunately!

I love gazania. I've grown them from seed before, but I often just buy them when they are available at local garden centers. They tend not to do super well for me in Houston, where they seem to attract scale and mealybug 😭

Yep, provides shade but no too much shade. Still provides good airflow.

Lovely! Does anyone know , what is that green groundcover and trailing/climbing green behind Norm , in thumbnail? Does it get any water ?I could use that instead of grass. This is a lovely garden.

None of his own that I know of. But if you search him up in UA-cam, you will see several videos with him. He used to work for Springs Preserve here in Vegas.
