@Will Morgan ask the one mase the first comment. I love RHP and i m tired of this american new moralistic trend, maybe kozelek is not the nicest person ever but he is one of the greatest american songwriter ever, an hidden gem
To limit oneself to musicians that don’t say anything controversial would be absolutely silly and ridiculous. Kozelek is one-of-a-kind, but it needs to be said that he always seemed to long for more fame that he actually got (and I believe he got the fame that he deserved, not any more or any less). Calling his fans losers, at a more attentive analysis is what a no-nonsense, straightforward, average (at the time young ) guy who got some recognition would feel like doing, and that’s what our beloved Kozelek is. An avarage guy who picked up a guitar, learned how to play it and added to it sometimes legendary lyrics. And he does know that, all in all, he is the “king“ of these “losers”, in a way. He never really got where he wanted to get. He got the fans he deserved, loyal languid losers. Some of his songs are mediocre, some are absolute masterpieces. He did well…
It doesn't matter how many times I watched this video here...just it's quite funny about " losers fans " sometimes, I stay at home and I try to find some stuff to read, well, Mark said, somehow in interviews, at the beginning of RHP there wasn't yet Spain or even Low and some audience, some fans whose claiming to share a moment after their gigs...they told to him: -' we came warned by some friends that already knew the band, to bring a pillow and a blanket 'cause that band they do slow, They really do slow " . Counting cd and vinyl and books I have about 20. Wonderful! 😁
"...i left school i grew my hair, they didn't understand, they wanted me to be respectable as a doctor or a lawyer man " bla, bla, bla, Kozelek is a great singer and keeps among the most accomplished artists of the last two decades. A genious!
Great stuff! I remember a couple years ago seeing on UA-cam another interview which I think was from 1993 and he seemed in kind of a downer mood, was wearing a yellow or brown coat, it was pretty lousy VHS rip type quality from some music tv programme, it was deleted and I haven't been able to find it anywhere else since.
I've been looking for that one too!!! When I found this one I thought it was gonna be it, but nope. Well, allegations are not the truth, just allegations made up by the media,an extremely cancerous and beligerant people who hate Kozelek since a lot of time ago,so,i just don´t believe in those allegations. Also his music and art never will disappear and it will become eternal, media can´t kill that

I've been to a handful of his various live incarnations across different borders, and states, and he has always sought to antagonize the audience. He absolutely despises having his picture taken live because he is woefully unphotogenic, and he knows it. It all reads like a very punk era posturing, but I sense it's derived from something deeper. He wants the attention of women from being a singer/songwriter through his established sensitivities, but he is put off by the males who relate to his adolescent musings.
