Tommy John isn’t bad lol… it actually makes your arm a lot stronger. Some pitchers get it without even needing it. In fact, in today’s game, more pitchers seem to have gotten it vs haven’t gotten it. Part of the game dude. What you’re doing is like a boxer complaining about having chronic headaches, or a football player dealing with head trauma. It’s part of it, you know the risks, if you’re that much of a wuss, then don’t play the game.

@@ace6458 As a doctor and former player (made it to AA ball), I've seen to many times the affects of poor mechanics in any sport. You can't get around the laws of physics and the physics of how the human body functions. The arm motion alone that this guy's is teaching is putting far to much stress on the elbow and the shoulder of the pitcher. That kid, if not corrected, will have either tommy john surgery by the time he's 14-16 yrs old. Or he will be having rotator cuff surgery. At that age, either of those surgeries are career ending for someone that age. An adult, who is fully grown, can and most times do, recover completely from those surgeries.
All the old adages like "it's part of the game" and "playing hurt makes you tough" are some of the most ridiculous mind sets and will get athletes hurt more. Of course there are adherent risks with playing any sport and injuries do happen. However, you can greatly minimize the risks and injuries just by using the proper mechanics of how the body works.

@@maxlembke1593 I never said playing hurt makes you tough. If you’re a doctor AND former AA player, which is highly unlikely, but I’ll play into it… you would know that the throwing motion is already incredibly unnatural. It’s part of the game, deal with it or play lacrosse or something. If you’re going to be a competitive kid, you need to play year round. If you’re going to play year round, then you’re most likely face some arm issues down the road. This guy is teaching a kid basic throwing mechanics. Watch a vid of the pros throw in slow motion… yea it looks super dangerous, and it kinda is, but that’s the game dude.
